    one question: why not surovikin/gerasimov?

    • @NotASeriousMoose
      @NotASeriousMoose หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Gerasimov is done, to physically hurt to do the job. Surovikin has a loyalty problem since Wagners attack on Moscow.
      So neither is an option

    • @mitrovdan
      @mitrovdan หลายเดือนก่อน

      Reacting to @notaseriousmoos and to your question, Gerasimov is a soldier, Surovikin same thing. These people know how to defend the country. The new guy knows s thing or two about economically organising a department/ministry etc etc, very effectively. There are some in the MOD that need to be gone, same time the MOD needs to be economically restructured and those that don't belong there kicked out, not by Shoigu but by the new guy, some things run deep, take time and act when time is due, TIME IS DUE!

    People have a major misunderstanding of pretty much everything surrounding this non-event. Shoigu got promoted to focus on Russian MIC as well as be Putin's security advisor (Sullivan's position, for reference). MoD is a lot more about management than it is about military operations. Gerasimov is the Chief of the General Staff - the war and all those things are in his domain. Minister of Defence is a civilian position with a huge bureaucracy, management and economics component, so they got a person - Belousov - who excels at this. That is pretty much the end of it.

      @@NotASeriousMoose Sure, if that somehow makes it easier for you? Russians are dumb, their economy is weak, it is a gas station parading as a country, they are Chinese vassals, they are are pathetic for begging N.Korea and Iran, their army is incompetent, they fight with shovels, the can only win by using meat-wave attacks, their morale is weak, their equipment is inferior to the Western counterparts, the society is oppressed and fears Putin, Putin is a dictator, etc. An now: Shoigu failed, he is incompetent, he is corrupt, he is involved in power struggle, people hate him, Putin removed him because... dunno, but I am sure there is some dark reason in which both Putin and Shoigu come out as horrible people. Do these arguments sound familiar? Do they make one's life easier I wonder?
