I started to buy a few of them and I really like them. Guns don't have to cost a lot of money to be a good Pistol. My first Taurus was a G3C and I added a Olight and a night sight and have four 17 round magazines and a GX4 was next and I added a night sight and have three 13 round magazines and my last is a TX22 for my wife and I am totally happy with all three and I will most likely purchase another Taurus and the GX4 CARRY will probably be it. I have owned the P365xl and the hellcat pro, and more recently picked up the GX4 for an amazing deal and was so impressed I got the GX4XL just to see if it shot any differently, also on a great deal. Honestly I can shoot both GX4’s so much more consistently than both the sig and WAY better than the hellcat. Everyone is saying they’re budget and I guess that’s true but they are truly excellent in my experience. Haven’t had any failures of any kind with either and have shot several hundred rounds through each. Slightly interested in this new variant, but I can get 13+1 in the others with the extended mags, so not a huge benefit to upgrading… maybe they’ll offer the 15 round mags in a variant that will fit the original models.
Nice that it actually has a real 1913 rail now. The original GX4 was limited at rollout with WMLs because they pretty much depended on streamlight to make one for it. Now you can run a TLR7 or whatever floats your boat.
Just got 3 rds through mine ..head and shoulders better the basic gx4 ..triggers great and its really hi joke a tack driver ..not one issue at 3-350 rds so far ..I love this
To add to your comments, my gx4 has not only been extremely reliable. The build equality feels better than my walthers. And none of the recall issues I've noticed that with the sig 320 and other guns of that ilk. I know that Taurus did have a couple of recalls but mine was not affected by it the recall. And other than being selective on ammunition, no reloads. The gun has not failed going into battery or in reliability. I think I saw more teething issues with the p365 and I purchased this as a throwaway weapon, this has become my EDC

I went with the Sig P365 Macro because all the micros were to small to get a good grip on but I was needing something lighter than my M&P 40c (it needs an extended mag too to get a full grip on) because I was having hip problems. It was a nice pistol for the most part, best of the micros I shot, but for what it cost I was a little under whelmed after a while. When my hip got better I went back to the M&P but will take a look at the GX4 if I have problems again.
THANK YOU for mentioning the Glock sight non compatibility. Bought a set of tru glos that don't fit so that's $100 wasted. No one really talks about that. Have the XL version, smoother and softer shooting than my shadow system...
@@actraveler8309 I believe the gx4 is, but the XL model is not, there is a shallow recess in the top of the inside of thr slide, and there is not enough room between the edge of that recess and the edge of the hex head Glock front sight screw for a Glock front sight tool to fit and fasten the screw. So if this GX4 carry has a slide recess like the XL model I would worry about sight compatibility, because again, $100 sights that won't screw in, big bummer
@@piela650 you are correct regarding the difficulty getting a nut driver in however that is common to the GX4 base model as well. I had to utilize a needle nose plier for the front sight. I did apply loctite and it’s held better than the stock sight (which flew off) when firing.
@@piela650I ordered a factory sight that came with the screw needed to be able to use the Allen wrench and not the Glock tool. Sucks they could of moved the sight hole back 1 mm and the Glock tool would probably work. Taurus sells just the screws but they were sold out and I had to pay ten bucks for the whole front sight just to use the screw. When I ordered the front night sight from Taurus the Ameriglo I expected it to have the Allen screw but it has the plain Glock style screw and I had to order the factory gx4 screw that's Allen in the middle and normal Glock size on the outside. I thought I was gonna be able to use the one that was in the front sight. It mine was so tight I had to drill it out with a super small bit and my Dremel.

The standard GX4 with the optional 13rd magazine, which has the built in extended mag grip, is a better carry gun. Smaller, lighter, and just 2 less rounds for less than the cost of this version by about $100.
Correction, not all gx4 carry are optics cut. I actually bought one online at a big store and when i went to pick it up, no optics cut. Had to exchange for a toro version.
I have the gx4 but was considering to get the conversion kit (toro) just curious if I can just use my recoil spring and barrel? Taurus website for the conversion kit states for slide only...a little confusing

Not much specs: is it single or double action? Fully cocked when racked or partially cocked when racked? Double-strike capable? Manual safety? How many mags? WHO says that parts are Teflon coated? Not so much here to stimulate interest...........................elsullo

I gave the G3 and the 856. Taurus makes great stuff. Glad to see they are continuing to innovate their brand.

The GX4 was stupid small, and that was why it is so great. Hope they offer the extended magazine with sleeve to those with the GX4

I would argue the taurus gx4 is better than the ruger max 9 and the g3 better than rhe security 9. I have all i mentioned.
