This was so relaxing and engaging at the same time! Great work! It’s always inspiring when people using only a single device and still makes a killer track.
Nice slow burn, evolving jam, with good selection of sounds. Like the built in reverb and slow down delay, at the end. I also am quite pleased with my Model:Cycles. It has so many ways that it can make music, I never tire of it. Small, portable, self contained with the battery pack I put together for it, I can sit anywhere and compose/jam with it. I'm also very happy with the MicroFreak, and Volca Drum, and Volca Sample2. All excellent gear for a small price. Best wishes for your continued success, and happiness with music.
I did. It is really good. And the sound is just awesome. There’s a part in this track where the sound breaks, that’s the device. FM synthesis for beginners. I say buy it.
I don’t know why I have not been able to bring myself to buy a Cycles. Probably the pandemic. It sounds so great! Your track here is another good example of it.
thank you! I'm glad you liked it! i too had a hard time initially with the idea of buying a cycles, i had this assumption that it was very limited and not a very serious machine, but then i realized that it's not limited it's just "tuned to always sound good" and boy does it ever!
@@lukegregg5944 no i didn't read the manual yet... i normally never read manuals but sometimes i read sections for things that are really unclear. for the cycles i just kindof figured it out based on my previous experience with elektron gear (had a OT for a while) so i kinda based it on that but everything else was just exploring and trying stuff out
Personal experience: The machine sounds great and is simply the easiest one to use out of the whole Elektron family. The sequencer is a treat and there is enough functionality to keep you going for days. The control all functionality is a great performance tool. One LFO per track is a limitation, but those foster creativity :) Negatives for me (which can be addressed in updates though): although the fm parameters "contour", "sweep", "colour" and "shape" are mentioned in the manual for each machine, the description is not clear and the knobs affect each sound differently and not as drastically as they probably could have. There is no other choice but to try out what they do. A reason for this probably is that FM can become complex quickly and it's difficult to combine and reconcile all the machines with a few common parameters. What I would like to see in an update are more machines with more flexibility. The current selection gets you places, no doubt, but it feels as if the whole box was capable of more. That being said, it's easily one of the most inspiring Elektron boxes because the workflow is so much faster than with previous models. It might not be as deep, but it sparks creativity and is more rewarding (at leats in the short term). For about 300 quid you get a limited but at the same time easy, fun and quick to use good sounding and flexible groovebox. So if you're bored during the pandemic and are able to treat yourself with something, get yourself this splendid little groovebox :)
Great track! I loved where this webt
