    This is the kind of knowledge that you only get from practice and experience. Thanks.

    When I watch Anang Syaifuddin and Tom Tom throw, its all so (non power) and more mechanics, so I fully understand your reply, thanks for the kind help Joel.

    Joel. What size and weight of knife is best for half spin please? It would be difficult with a big Bowie I guess, but not impossible.Any knife suggestions for beginner please?

    • @joelholopainen6865
      @joelholopainen6865  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Any instinctive knife. Check out instinctive knives from throwingzone.fr or zitoonknives.fr for examle.

    Well you forgot about the SKANF method. It be nice for you to do a tutorial on that. it uses elastic forses and angular momentem insted of muscular forces alone for longer distanses and more force. i wanna learn that method most., there are some vids out there but you explain things well.
    also for me nospin is much more easy lol but i never really tried longer distanses. i dont have anywere to go.
    also what are you using as a target?

    • @joelholopainen6865
      @joelholopainen6865  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I wish I knew how to throw skanf. I didn’t learn it although I gave it a serious try. A good english spoken tutorial is lacking for this method. I hope to make one in the future with Jonas Mäntykoski who is a skanf expert and lives near me.
      As for target anything goes. In the vid you see an end grain target.

      @@joelholopainen6865 well i meant that you didnt mention it. im russian and i can translate the basics better from that one dubbed vid that im sure you have seen. but basicly you hold it with enough strength that you can swing your arm but when you stop the knife slides out and goes were it needs to.
      the spring forses they talk about is like in that example if pulling your funbger back and having it flick something hard instead of using your finger mussles alone.
      id you use your hand and body like a whip and empfasise on the elastic forses to give you more power, thats how you do it.
      you need to gnow the possitioning of your hand and were the knife will go because you dont want to use less force to micropossition the knife when you could be useing it to throw.
      here are a few vids just in case you have not seen them

      Since I bought only from Zitoon and Throwing Zone but now I wanna try something from dxb and I'm in between Kharakternik and Viatich, can you give me and advice? Basically nospin and instinctive halfspin.. Thanks in advance, I started throwing in dicember 2020 and you're such a good inspiration!

      @joelholopainen6865  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@giannetto1000 Well, you gotta have both, hehe, because it's really hard to say. I have maybe 12 Kharakterniks. It's the best universal knife in the world but it's damn good plain instinctive knife as well. Vyatich is more like the Devil claw light and perhaps more pleasurable to throw than Kharakternik due to its' light weight but Kharakternik is more stable. Hard to say. I have reviewed all those knives on my channel.

      @@joelholopainen6865 It was not a criticism, but really honestly out of interest. I've just ordered a set of the light Zitoon knives you helped design, and reviewed on You-Tube to learn no spin. Thanks buddy, you're brilliant with the tutorials.

      @@richardbarrett4104 Thanks. I was thinking of a shaolin master who said something like ”Why to use 100% of your power when you can use only 30% and get the same result.”
      Relaxation, you know. But this demands better technique, better mechanics, better timing etc.
