The Yildiz Pro Sporter Review

  • For a long time we have been saying - what would happen if Turkish Gunmakers made something at a Silver Pigeon price point, instead of hammering the budget market.
They did! This is the Yildiz Pro Sporter 12 bore.
We are impressed by this gun, so much so we took one out for a test to see how it handled against something much better (that video is coming soon).
What do you think of the Perazzi styled gun?

I bought one , in July, probably 10 thousand though it , no problems, the gun is beautiful, fit and finish are very nice, my favorite part is the pistol grip, which is not what is it this video, full curve, nice palm swell, adjustable comb, although zero adjustment fits me wonderfully. The tapered rib points great, the factory chokes were tight, but they sent me two extra sets(5 ea.)flush, and extended that are standard dimensions. Time will tellI know, but I love this gun, wayyyy better than my barrel heavy browning.

Here in the USA one can procure an SPZ ME at any time at Academy for $430, and there are usually a few sale events throughout the year when they have them knocked down to $400. Comparing to the advertised prices in the UK, I'd guess the base Pro model to go for about $1300 if Academy picks it up. That would tempting indeed!

I personally think that Yildiz are the best value for money guns on the market today, bar none.
We have five of them within the family both in 20 and 12 bores. (Game and Clays)
My son also won the West Midlands Automatic Ball Trap championship with his Yildiz Pro Trap with a 96/100.
A lot of gun for the money.

Looking at the comments on your video so far I get the feeling there is a fair amount of dislike of Turkish guns. Me personally? I go to the shop and I try for size what I can afford. I have a Hatsan for rough shooting, a Caesar Guerini "safe queen" that's never been shot, a couple of Wingmasters' (just because), a Browning 525 for Clays and various other bits and bobs. At no time have I looked at something and said "I don't like that because the Italians made it", or the Japanese or anyone else. Does it fit you?Does it fit your intended purpose? Is it in your price range? Will it stand the test of time?In the case of this shotgun, I think it will. Oh, and the old Hatsan semi has seen five years of abuse and is still going strong....
