I think he’s wrong, and if you read on from verse 24 through to verse 26, you’ll see why...
    24
I’ll say it again-it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter the Kingdom of God!”
    25
The disciples were astounded. “Then who in the world can be saved?” they asked.
    26
Jesus looked at them intently and said, “Humanly speaking, it is impossible. But with God everything is possible.”
Conclusion: It is impossible for a camel to go through the eye of needle! Just like it is humanly impossible to save yourself... but with God everything is possible, and so He has saved us!

In his book, ‘Understanding Jesus’ Joe Amaral says,
“So Jesus is saying it is virtually impossible for a rich man to enter God’s kingdom. Thankfully, just two verses later Jesus says, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible” (Matt.19:26).”

I agree. His interpretation is wrong. This is a popular middle eastern saying taking from the Talmud. In the Talmud it cites the Elephant which is the biggest animal in the middle east. However in Jerusalem there weren't any elephants so Jesus used the Camel since it was the biggest animal in that area that people were accustomed to. This is simple hyperbole illustration for Jesus driving the point that it is indeed impossible for the biggest animal to enter the smallest hole.

Jesus saw his heart and determined that riches were a stumbling block to him where they might not be for another.

The camel according to the Greek Orthodox is a thick rope used for tying down ships.

People equated riches with God's favor, so, if a person was rich, it must be because God particularly favored that person. If a rich person had difficulty getting into heaven, then what hope was there for everyone else?
Jesus' emphasis was on salvation being based on God's work, not on anything man could do.
At least, that's what I've been taught.

I'm not sure why the disciples were astounded as they were all poor mostly. Whatever the case, and it doesn't matter (why the video).. it is impossible according to Jesus. Real context might be something like what does it mean to be rich, not what the word for camel or eye meant. Love true riches from heaven not the earthly ones.
Also, it makes more sense to not mention unwinding a camel hair rope or tassel as that would be Jesus' precise meaning.. an actual tassel would be impossible to put through a needle. Love of money over God is an easily obtained ticket to hell.

They were astonished because they just left their families and everything behind for Jesus. At the end of the chapter Jesus says, whoever exalts himself will be humbled and whoever humbles himself will be exalted. This means everyone is at a level playing field - rich or poor (again this part of the verse is sometimes erroneously interpreted as pertaining to humility - this is about everyone being equal). They wanted to know how to get to heaven if non is qualified even if they have left families and alike.
