Thanks for the great video👍🏾 I've had my Mara X v2 since December '22 and finally put this video to good use today. Really wish Lelit would make the opv accessible without having to open the machine. Having said that, the process is very straightforward.
That's reaaaally incredible that they do. I saw so many videos of so many machines that show useless pressure from somewhere else than the group head. Lelit did fantastic job with this gauge
Why not keep the hose attached and use a 12mm crescent wrench? Must the hose be removed for what looks to be approximately a 1/4 turn. And thank you for the excellent instruction.
I managed to turn the nut all the way until I got down to 9 bars without removing the tube. However, this resulted in a kink in the tube which would propably inhibit waterflow, or even worse, cause damage. I did manage to remove it tho by gently twisting and turning the tube until it was gone. Be very carefull with this approach. I can imagine it's possible to create so much tension, that you cause a kink at the other end, or even loosen connection.
How to proceed for a long pre-infusion starting at 2 Bar? My MaraX espresso machine starts directly at 4-5 bars pre-infusion. If you want, I can also send a video
@@taylorsharpe9169 it helps when the machine is still warm! I would recommend using a plastic lever instead of a metal one though. Anything you can find that fits
@@geekotron yes managed to get it off, a lot more force then I would have liked but did the trick, much better espresso at 8 bar, no need to grind ridiculously fine to get the timings and extraction as I’ve found at 10 bar. Cheers for the help 👍🏻
@@taylorsharpe9169 awesome! Yeah, 10 bars was a mess for me as well. I also brought it down to 8. They should ship it at 9 bars max from the factory and save us the trouble haha
9 Bars is the old standard but I've been experimenting this week on my Rocket R58 and my mom's new Bianca V3 which both came way too high for no reason... Guess even do you pay 3500$+ they still don't care to set it right for you. So I went down from 9.0 to 8.5 few days ago to 8.0 today which is still anyway within the green zone of 8-10Bars on my Rocket and wow it's already definitely better! Less acidity on my light roast, less chance of channeling with lower pressure, only advantages so far.
Intuitively I would guess the higher the pressure the more fine your grounds need to be. And therefore higher pressure would lead to more bitterness rather than more sourness.
Thanks for the great video👍🏾

Nice too see that the gauges agree, so you really don’t need the group head gauge to set the OPV

Just adjusted mine, fantastic results. Great video!
Браво Вики, готини и полезни видеа правиш! Тоя Лелит е много добре организиран отвътре, чак ме заинтригува.
Thank you for sharing. I can't wait to fix the brew pressure on my Mara X.
That worked like a charm - even without the extra gauge! Thanks!

Be careful if you do this because the hose will twist

How do you fix the pressure gauge to the brew head?

Do you roughly know how many degrees to turn to reduce pressure by 1 bar?
only pressure gauge will tell
Roughly 180°-360°.
Hi there, any tips on how to disconnect the hose? I tried warming up the machine but the hose is still too hard to remove. Thanks
use a flat screwdriver
I’m having the same issue trying to do this but the tube is on and won’t budge at all. 🤔😭 really don’t want to break anything

Just curious - why didn't you set the pressure to 9 bar? Isn't nine bars supposed to be the reference?
no, it is up to the user, I often use 6-8 bar
@@victorbrewseverywhere James Hoffman goes for 9, as it is the 'standard' but whatever you like the taste of really

How will it influence the taste? Will lighter roasts need lower pressure than darker roasts?

I adjusted from factory ~11bar to 10 bar. Next day it is again ~11 bar. Alien technology detekted.
