Jokic is a Sabonis or Divac, just has the ball in his hands more. And Point Guards in those days was serious about running the offense, so Joker assists would decrease tremendously
@@truthiscensoredIt's impossible to throw Jokic in that era and think exactly how he would look. Jokic is a product of this era and his skills are perfect for how offense is run now. @sergioa.9695 it's not nostalgia the game is so different now it's unrecognizable .....and it's not just the commissioner and nba and refs it's also the players...I'm in my 40s and the players flop and cry like never before, there iq level is super low they shoot a logo 3 on a 3 on 1 fastbreak they don't know how to play in a team setting cause all they do is individualized workouts, they load manage and it's pathetic, they don't play with heart and passion like they used too I just went to a magic and pacer game and majority of the players looked like they didn't even want to be there
@@MakaveliCVW All things you said are the same things i don't like too but make no mistske the game is more advanced now, you can't put the same lineups of past eras and expect to win in today's nba, you can't win if you don't shoot good enough from 3, you can't win if you don't have fast and versatile players who can switch positions. Yes it's a totally different game, yes the way player behave are part of the society we live in, yes I miss the post game but no era is perfect. Each era has pros and cons and present different challenges. There is so much talent out there and the best teams play very good team basketball that I absolutely enjoy. Unfortunately too many people of my age are stuck in the past, sure no era can replace the rivalry and my memories of 80's 90"s and 00's basketball but the game has evolved a lot and the offensive strategies are constantly evolving make it very intersting if you are an hardcore fans and put time into understand the intrecacy of today's nba offensive and defensive strategies.
@sergioa.9695 it's not more advanced the changing of the rules have made it seem that way, it makes role players look much better and all stars look like superstars they allow players to travel and do triple step backs....u could absolutely drop players in from past eras and win....the three ain't a high percentage shot u live or die with the 3 and the players shoot way more then they should be
@@MakaveliCVWThe officiating is another story but you didn't understand. I'm not saying players are overall better i'm staying basketball comcepts are more advanced and better because they fully take advsntage of rules and the 3 point line. You can win with past great players playing with today's comcepts but not with entire old school lineups with poor shooting on the floor and bigs who get exploited on defense. Trust me i know what i'm talking about. The officiating is a problem no doubt, devalue the game and makes players look better but that's another topic.
Jesus #1
The fans come to see you play NBA will never be what it was in the 80s-90s today's game is ok but not even close to being as great as the league was when you played Shaq ⚡
💯%@ll facts Alonzo morning
Russell Westbrook is the only player in this era that would make it in the 90s
Which era you're talking about? Russ is not a player of this era, Jokic Giannis SGA Tatum Doncic are players of this currentt era and they all would be very good players in any era.
@@sergioa.9695 None of them would get the green light to play the way they do.
@@back2back379 That's why is pointless to compare players of complete different eras. But they all still be very good players hypotetically, they have too much talent to not be.
COULDA WOULDA SHOULDA
.....AD and Embiid wouldnt last a full season back in the day
they definitely would ur favorite 80s and 90s players were coked up hooping in chucks
@@starn9 FYI AD and Embiid cant even stay healthy when defense isnt allowed. Availability is the best ability. #tissuepapersoft
@@lawrence208Lol Its a lot easier to stay healthy as a big when you dont have to move laterally and can just stand in the paint the entire game like a fucking cone.
2:35 mark. Hard pause SHaq 😂
Here we go guys another man that keep gay shit on his mind all the time, you need to go watch Lord Jamar interview on BagFuel podcast I bet you won't be playing that pause game no more he made a lot of sense too
No One Loves Goliaths. While MJ is best player ever...he even admired big men. I remember the wars with Shaq, Zo, Patrick, Kareem, the Chief, Hakeem, Robinson and miss them. Same with true PFs.
I can't believe the NBA especially Adam Silver still can't hear these points from former players even from the fans unbelievable worst commissioner ever 🙄😞
I'm 44. I grew up on '80s and '90s basketball, so for a variety of reasons, that's the style I prefer. But man, basketball just is what it is now, and I for one have gotten REALLY bored with "olds" sitting around on microphones grousing about stuff like "physicality". Just because your point is correct doesn't make it interesting. Move on already.
Well, NBA ratings are way down and that is not a coincidence. The game is broken at this point. We want intensity and drama. Jacking 3s, flopping and no D.. who wants to watch that? Just look at the all-star game. Players don't even care anymore, why should fans?
It all over action 90s players most jealous about today players more athletism more speed best dunkers ever, shooting by far better than any era.
Jealous, over what? Only thing better in the NBA is Flopping/Load Management/Contracts… How they have more athleticism now, and most of them can’t stay Healthy?? They want $300 Million, and play 25-/30 games. Fuk outta here.. Don’t disrespect the 80/90’s ball no more..
The NBA can have defense without being 90s physical. Just bring back hand checking. And the refs need to stop calling techs for literally nothing
Yes !!!!! Bring back the physicality and enough with the 50 FT a game. No cadance to the games.
They got called out by bill wilt Kareem etc… now they calling out todays players
It shows how the game decreased overtime since the 60s70s but this is def the highest rate of decline we’ve seen
@7:54 @8:10 👀
The Big Banner Podcast 😂
Didn’t Magic and Isiah have sit down because they was into since the 80s? I rather see players dap up than beef. When it’s jump ball KD and Bron tryna take each other heads off. Then you can’t blame the players for how they play because the referees call tikytak fouls. How can you play aggressive when the refs call bullshit call. So I don’t agree with neither Zo nor Shaq. There are competitors in the league. The people in the world don’t know wtf they want
Magic and Zeke beef had nothing to do with basketball. It was about Zeke questioning Magic's sexuality behind his back when Magic got the HIV virus. Now Jordan and Isiah...? LOL
@ it doesn’t matter. They still had beef. Y’all want superstars to beef then when it goes to far yall wanna clown them.
I miss Rob Jenners and John Kincade
THE LEAGUE SUCKS TODAY.....I'M FINISHED WITH WATCHING HOOPS. I'M MORE INTO VINYL TODAY....THAT NEVER FAILED ME....PEACE.
BY THE WAY....LONZO LOOKS FUCKIN GREAT TODAY!
90s NBA is over. Welcome to Steph Curry's ERA. Hail Steph Curry, the person who changed the NBA.
Nonsense.....every era has its particular style of play....in one era physicality may be the dominant style of play, in another era finesse may be the style of the day.....One must view the sport of Basketball an ever evolving organism.....the only constant is change......
and the wnba has opposing team members that are in relationships
Lets stop.. the rules dictate the limited physicality... if they are too physical they get fouled out and maybe even fined
Alonzo’s muscles were all show. He was always afraid of legit tough guys and he always cried about every single call. Mentally weak
Just move the line back a couple feet. Problem solved.
There are no team or personal rivalries, nothing compelling to watch.
Joker would thrive in the 90’s
Not with his defense. He would get bullied all day
He’d be z from the cavs, vlade divac type the 90s were the golden age for bigs that played defense and offense and played in the paint all his competition today is scared of paint play and play on the perimeter don’t disrespect the 90s bigs like that it’s a reason he’s a second rd pick
Most likely Jokic would struggle a lot against some matchup in that era defensively but on offense he would still be very good because he's much better than Divac or past prime Sabonis, it's not only a matter of handling the ball more.
Who would he be able to defend 🤔
Lebron turn atop change the nba forever, from leadership to teaming up to rest and still get max contracts. Lebron from 2010 to present change the nba .steph changed the game in different way but. The face of the league, change everything
The physicality of the game is the reason why the NBA sucks now. there is none. No one plays defense and wants to get physical, so they just throw the ball from the moon.
#blamelebron
Imagine American football and take out the physicality from it, is anyone going to watch it ? Same with basketball
Now a bunch of "ass tapping, good gamers" drives me nuts!!!
I miss the aggressive physicality era. Oakley's, Antonio Davis's. Loved those guys...Barkley etc.
The Big man of the NBA TO IS SOFT I LOVE THE NBA OF 80'S & 90'S Shaquille O'Neal Alonzo Mourning Patrick Ewing Olajuwon David Robinson they where absolutely awesome played Defense 🏀🏀🏀🏀🦾🦾💪💪
Today's game sucks!
because most play for the money and not the love of the game. Simple. they get paid to much. cant blame them though
yeah, sorry. I'm not watching a giant AD in front of a podcast. Don't care if the ad is for KFC or whatever else.
people dont want everyone to hate each other, damn show some pride.
Physically spoiled! I’m sorry
i am not one of those fans that want to see that...i want to rivalries...but not in a cut-throat way but more in a our team wants to see our worth....we want to test our identity against your team...our team thinks we got the players to beat your team...that way....two people can have a competition and be into with the intention to win but they don't have to beat each other up to do it....yall want that him vs. him hatred concept which i don't like...but i also don't need to see that...networking/it just a game mentality either....how do you and your team feel about basketball...how do you think it should be played and why and show me how your teammates feel about your theory and how opponents react to you and your team's theory on basketball
NBA today is too soft... like in Jordan era.. muscles are legit.
Embiid the clostest thing to you guys??? are you freaking high??
Calling out players is always stupid as shit, they aren't the ones that make the rules.
🥱🥱🥱..... NOTHING BUT COULDA WOULDA SHOULDA AND IF'S 😢.....
old ppl always envy the youth
80s basketball was awful lol players with no technical talent
KAT is pretty physical
He’s soft like charmin😂
He has the frame to be but he’s soft and rarely imposes his physicality hopefully that changes with him being in NY. It’s infuriating watching a guy with that size and skill settling for jacking 3’s.
@@manimal9871he shooting 45% i dont think thats settling
Words or men who are stuck in the past: COULDA WOULDA SHOULDA,BACK IN THE DAY, IF IF IF,
Basketball is poo now. Lovefests aren’t fun to watch.
Mark my words. The moment LeFlop DeBronze is out of the league, they will immediately start making defense a thing again. They just need this King of Stat Padding and Team Hopping to get his so they can get their money out of the thing they propped up with him. LeChoke gone? Defense will be back immediately.
These aren’t risking all the money just to impress some old farts😂
They are weak men then.
