    Hi,
    Very complete and detailed video. You can feel the practitioner. Nice to hear from someone who knows what they're talking about for practicing it.
    Not much to add.
    Maybe something, with experience, I have personally learned not to fight against the elements. I use the rain for the best. It's slippery, so I work on my slides and my braking techniques. It saves my wheels ^^.
    Thanks for the video.

    Great review! I’ve just removed the 80mm version from my setup as the dryer weather comes in. Completely agree with your points on wet skating; everything needs to be dialled back, including expectations. And you’re right, some surfaces are just best avoided in the wet. I think rain skating is a great training tool for building confidence and control.

      Totally agree! I just removed these from my setup. Took too long to get this review out lol!

    these wheels work for skidding and braking on dry floors? or do they slow down a lot if the place is not humid?

    • @ThirtyandRollin
      @ThirtyandRollin  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      They work for dry weather but are quite sticky and will wear out faster then a normal wheel.

    Great review!
    I do agree with you that they are very pricey. (All good wheels in general)
    I would like to see reviews on cheaper, budget friendly wheels too. There could be a sleeper out there 🤔

    As always great video, thanks mate.
    I am still hesitant on these 🙄 “normal” hydrogens work on wet asphalt completely fine, and on polished surface these won’t help much 🙄 probably - as you say - they are for someone who is serious about their fitness goals :)

    Interesting. Nice review man! I wonder how these babies would roll in the slushy/snowy days up here during a Canadian winter. Obviously no good on ice, but I'm tempted to try a set out later this year and see if they can make winter skating somewhat feasible 🤔.

      Not sure on slush. I would be interested to hear how the perform.

    What I'd like to know is how are your bearings doing after skating in rain a few times??

    • @ThirtyandRollin
      @ThirtyandRollin  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      They are doing great! Been skating the same bearing for over a year now in the rain. I am using WD40 White Lithium Grease on them.

    • @FabiusPyromanus
      @FabiusPyromanus 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Can you do a tutorial on your bearing maintenance? Sounds effective.!

      I skate in the rain fairly often and I've been using the same bearings for the wet weather for a while now. I have a very basic process, but it works for me.
      I've only got the £6 wicked abec 5s and if I skate in the rain as soon as I'm finished I clean them in water. Then pat dry throw them in a bottle with methylated spirits shake vigorously, remove and leave to dry for a bit.
      Then reinstall and I'm good to go. I must've done it over twenty times and it works great for me. Admittedly it's probably not the correct way to do it, but it's adequate for my needs. 👍

      @jessa.3857 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@chilli-iceolive-abode2447 I'm def going to come off sounding lazy here but that sounds like a lot of work. I simply don't skate when it rains. I'm super particular about how smooth my wheels spin! As soon as I feel that I'm not getting a smooth roll from them, I get new ones. I've tried serviceable bearings but I'm simply not patient enough to go through the whole process. It's just easier and less stressful to get new ones.

    • @chilli-iceolive-abode2447
      @chilli-iceolive-abode2447 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@jessa.3857 haha fair enough. Once you're used to it it's not too bad, BUT it's not just the bearings I also find it best to remove the frame and clean them all down and the boots. So it kind of is a bit of work.
      At the moment I can only skate on a Saturday so I go rain or shine!

  • @Alex-kr7zr

    How do they perform on dry surfaces? I wonder if I should get some for my commuter setup in the winter, when the pavement is often wet in the morning and evening.

    • @ThirtyandRollin
      @ThirtyandRollin  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They are great on dry surfaces just extra grippy. They will wear down faster than normal wheels on dry surfaces though.

    • @Alex-kr7zr
      @Alex-kr7zr 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ThirtyandRollin Thanks, I'm going to try them. PS mentions in their description that they should be mixed with other wheels for changing weather conditions, I'm also going to try that.

    Went out yesterday, had a great skate then decided to keep going even though I was tired. Anyway was flying along, had no safety gear and fell, broke a bone in my elbow, cuts and scrapes everywhere, so angry it wasn't on film and I have to stay off skates for 6 weeks! Aching today, such a bummer.

    • @ThirtyandRollin
      @ThirtyandRollin  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ahhh man that's no good! Heal up!

    • @chilli-iceolive-abode2447
      @chilli-iceolive-abode2447 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I hope you're elbow isn't too bad and you don't have to have surgery! I broke mine a while back and had to have a pin put in and it was very painful for ages!
      I can't lock my arm out straight anymore and I can't bend it quite as much as my other arm. If you do go the surgery route it is very common to lose some range of motion and can be worse depending on lifestyle and age.
      Anyway the main point is do the physio, it's agony to start with and you're doing it so often but stick with it. I found filming my range of motion every week useful, cuz sometimes it felt like I'd got nowhere but then when I checked back the footage I could see the progress. The first day I could wash my face with both hands again was amazing! Take care.

    • @ThirtyandRollin
      @ThirtyandRollin  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Haha I am no expert but yes I have and for me the original liner work great for that shell. I don't like how thin the Intuition liner is for the Twister cuff for my skinny leg.

      SUV frames is the name for rubber wheels on inline skates. But I've heard they are very slow.
