    Thanks for the update and hope you feel better soon.
    BTW inclusion Scotland released some research recently which revealed high levels of bullying against UC claimants. Now more than ever we need to come together to fight back against DWP actions which harm people. John pring, editor of the Disability News service has a new book out, The Department, which reveals how the DWP has caused the deaths of hundreds of disabled people. We should support the call of John MccDonell MP for a public inquiry into the many deaths directly caused by the actions of the DWP.

      This is a very good comment, I agree. I believe that there are many families out there facing bereavement over the loss of a family member that has unfortunately had to rely on support from their national community and had the rug snatched from under their feet by the DWP for no valid legal reason. I will certainly be answering the call of John McDonell MP. Thank you for this information casca!

    Just been through the transitional stage from ESA support group. I didn’t get my transitional protection even tho I left a message earlier on so you must message them soon as you see it’s not been added and that day I was given the extra pay back. So definitely check through your moneys.

    02:15 Do NOT accept a reduced amount of UC. IMPORTANT: ASAP Must raise it in UC Journal that 'I don't accept this decision I don't have the transactional protection, i have been put in the wrong group or being asked to go through the work capability assessment again or not given the same amount of money as before. Please correct this and then inform me ASAP''. If this is not done raise a complaint with the Jobcentre in writing. link below for Complaints Process, turn2us for help. Thank you Stu! New subbie.

    Your video is very much appreciated Stu.
    Before Christmas I was sent my migration from PIP to ADP letter. There was some confusion which had me going to my local council office and it was suggested that I phone the DWP as well.
    I'm terrified of phones and told the council worker and she suggested I go in to the job centre instead - also terrifying - but I went in. While I was there I asked about the migration to UC. The lady was lovely. She reassured me that I would get transitional payment when I transfer - an advisor at the welfare told me that only people on tax credit were entitled to transitional payments (I won't be going back there again)
    I really was in a state. She was so good with me, asked how long I'd been on esa support group etc and calmed my fears somewhat. She said when my migration letter comes and I need help to go see her. I probably won't, there's someone I usually get help from but it was nice of her to offer.
    All I'm trying to say is that after being so scared of the DWP, I've discovered they're not all bad, some are kind and patient. It's helped somewhat with my fear of them.
    Please don't tell me horror stories folks lol I know they're not all like that. I just wanted to give a positive story about them. Life's scary just now and something with a good outcome is not often shared these days.
    Hope you start feeling better soon Stu.

    hi Stu, I got my migration letter but going online with the link given there is nothing regarding migration. This is crazy it is treating my application as normal UC application, they haven't even asked for my ESA reference number. I don't trust them and I don't like them. I have been so stressed out I only have until 2 weeks into Feb and I am seriously panicking. I do have a support chap who is helping and hopefully CAB will be able to assist me asap.
    I hate having to have a stupid username and password as ESA has none of that rubbish- I hate going through this.
    All the best to you.

    Other added information I can give that happened to me is that you will get the last of your ESA payment 2 weeks after you apply for UC so you won’t go through 5 weeks with no pay. You can as well ask for a loan. If you choose to get a loan you can yourself work out how much, what period to may it over. I chose £200 - £8 over 24 months.

I suppose the main thing to remember though is that there are always people on our side in communities like this, so long as you seek the support you're increasing your chances of getting or keeping what you're eligible for. Can't wait to see everybody during the next Live Q&A, whenever that may be. Most importantly get better soon bro, sending positive vibes! I hope everybody had a great Christmas and New year so far. Its been sodding sore, I went through the migration got UC in December 2024. Yeah I still get PIP, industrial injuries . I got kept on ESA but dropped to the lower amount cos of NI contributions ?? I also lost the serve disability premium, so I'm 300 quid a month worse off, despite being told MUTIPLE TIMES your amount will stay the same as it was, its different a source, you'll be fine. I get transactional protection of 40 quid, by the time rent comes off my UC is £59. I dont know if this is right or not. You spend an hour on hold with DWP

    • @THEDUKEOFNUKEYT
      @THEDUKEOFNUKEYT 15 วันที่ผ่านมา +4

      Yeah man that's messed up... so when they took you off Severe Disability Premium, was that following an assessment or change of circumstances form by you? Because, if you're still eligible for that then you might want to consider appealing that decision. I wouldn't put it past them to forget to tick the box on the forms... there's a lot of boxes to tick, and we're all human in one sense, that we make mistakes. They might just correct it and backdate the payment.

    • @grahamclark4518

      @@THEDUKEOFNUKEYT Hi thanks for the reply. I've checked a bit deeper. There's no change of circumstances on my side.
      I got the you must migrate to UC letter, the next week I got your payments are changing and your moving from ESA to New Style ESA including a break down of the figures. Figures were exactly the same as was having, so I thought I was alright.
      Payments hit account lower than I expected, Queried with UC advisor as I said above, queried next payment With DWP was told you dont get disability premium on NEW ESA, was told during migration 3 times Your payments will not change, you'll get the same every month as you always have. Hope Ive explained clearly enough

    • @THEDUKEOFNUKEYT
      @THEDUKEOFNUKEYT 14 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      @@grahamclark4518 I see what they've done. They've dropped you down to non-contribution based ESA and then moved you over to New ESA. So unfortunately because you're claim isn't based on contributions anymore you won't automatically go on The Severe or Enhanced Disability Premium. The only way I can see you would be able to argue this is if you question the original move from contribution based to non contribution based. Honestly I think the best thing to do is get support from local charities or volunteers like Citizens Advice Burau. They might be able to help. However, you should also know that you may have already passed deadlines and that you just happen to have run out of National Insurance Contributions, and without seeing your files in person I honestly couldn't say. So sorry I can't help more, but please seek advice. :)

    • @THEDUKEOFNUKEYT
      @THEDUKEOFNUKEYT 14 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Just to clarify, you are currently on UC? If this all happened just before migrating to UC then you would not have been receiving the disability premium when you went on to UC and therefore would not have received the transitional payments too.

    Or the winter fuel benefit?
    As I am on ESA and usually received both yet did not receive anything even though the cost of food is going up each week and the electric went up in Jan!
    They said I was eligible for the winter payment to phone them up then they said because of the building I abide in means I cannot receive it???
    It's a block of flats two floors 1960's build and because of that we don't receive the winter benefits???

      I think you should try and get an appointment with an advisor at the CAB and it may be worth looking into being made an appointee for him with the DWP so you can handle some of his things (if he is agreeable). Even if you find some things hard to do in managing it you will still be able to keep an eye on it. Often Libraries have staff who can help with using computers to access universal credit online so might be worth checking with your local library.

    Got my Migration letter on Saturday.
    Everything that I've read into this before Saturday and since. Does not inspire great feelings.

      I’m in the same situation, it’s absolutely destroying me mentally, but I think that the DWP know what they’re doing and get a kick out of this.

    Hi Stu. I am new to your channel. Please can you clarify if the DWP are transitioning all esa claimants as I saw someone stating that they might only be transitioning contributions based esa claimants. Do you know anything about that?

      I was born with a disability for which I am in receipt of ESA Support Group; last Friday I received a text message informing me to migrate to UC before it’s too late, so I immediately filed out a online form. Then attended a appointment at the DWP office today where I was told that I will remain in the Support Group on UC, however I will have to apply for a loan to keep me tied over for 5 weeks, I’ll have to phone the ESA department tomorrow to find out if they will continue paying ESA until I get my UC payment.

    I'm watching this because I had an ESA medical assessment check several months ago I'm nothing changed I was awarded to save money plus £20 increase. But what I need to say is, I don't know what you're on about with the migration thing.

      If you have had a migration letter then you need to apply for Universal Credit. If you are having difficulty making sense of conflicting letters I would book an appointment with your local CAB to discuss with someone who can explain it for you
