This is strikingly true! And I have a little story about the first time i experienced it. When I was 13-14 years old, a new girl came to my school and went to my class. I thought she was the most beautiful woman i had ever seen. And the rest of the guys in my class thought the same. Point is, she was insanely gorgeous. And believe or not, I was actually “friends” with her in a way, if you could even call it that. Perhaps “acquainted” is a better description. We spoke sometimes, she laughed at my jokes from time to time and she was nice to me, for the most part. But I remember that she would sometimes, out of nowhere, act very rude and cranky all of a sudden. And this happened more and more often, the older we got. When we reached an age of about 15-16 years old, she was rude in this way almost all the time. Perhaps, as she grew up, she started to realize how beautiful she was, and how all the guys wanted to get with her. But the big thing I remember, is that she always used to “sigh” like she was bored or something. She was so difficult to understand at the time, but it all makes more sense now.

I lived with a former swimsuit model for nearly 20 years. Little Miss Hawaiian Tropic 1980. Every man (and a lot of women) lost their mind when they got near her and that's what she expected. I thought my best friend was a bitch when I first met her cause she was gorgeous and didn’t really engage with me when I tried to talk to her, and then as I got to know her better, realized she’s very shy and has a hard time talking to people. The issue is; who is secure and who is insecure. For a whole host of reasons, beautiful people may be insecure due in part to how their beauty has affected their life experience. There's a lot of damaged people in the world.
being extremely attractive is a burden that EVERYONE would gladly take on. The benefits of being attractive far outweigh the burdens. We know this because it is not hard to become unattractive, all they have to do is gain some weight and not take care of their teeth or face. Yet most super attractive people (women especially) pay thousands of dollars and hours of effort to remain attractive as they age.
saganist, I agree that jealous people hating you is one of the biggest downsides of being attractive but my point still stands that the upside of being attractive (people opening doors for you, paying for your shit, getting out of tickets, getting hired for jobs you are not qualified for, getting promotions that are not deserved, getting special treatment from perfect strangers, having your bad jokes treated like they are gold, etc) far outweighs the downside of being attractive.
We're all fuckin damaged and insecure. Most of us just can't get away with an attitude.

Haven't listed to the entire rant but I know one reason why. I wouldn't consider myself beautiful, I'm probably more "cute". Anyway, I can't tell you how many times I've been followed (in my car and on foot) by some guy. Or have been nice to a someone in an apartment complex and had them knock on my door every few hours. One asked the apartment manager to let him in because he was concerned about me. I have a ton of weird stories all from the age of 16. Seriously. Walking to school. Some creep JO and following me in his car. Happened to a friend of mine too (she was 15). I'm still nice to everyone one but I'm not super friendly with strangers (men). If any of you have daughters, please have a talk with them.

I have to agree at least partially. I've gotten strange looks from girls more than once anytime i genuinely asked for a light (as i had forgotten my lighter), always assuming i was trying to hit up on them when all i needed was a light. May I share a hilarious story here. I live in a small town. Use to live in the city. Anyway, it was my birthday, and my friends come up for the weekend. We go to this Cafe/Bar. Karaoke is going on. The regulars are there. There's this one girl, Maria, roughly mid 30's. Now, I will say she is a smoking hot Italian. Anyway, she's sitting in the corner by the bar on a stool. I'm taking pictures of my friends having fun with my massive Nikon when this girl calls me over...... -Excuse me, are you taking my picture?, she asks in a vain pompous rude manner, like she knows she is smoking hot. I'm like no, it's my birthday and my friends are here. I'm taking pictures of them. She goes on about me taking pictures of her. Mind you she has an IQ of a peanut. Finally I lean into her, put my hand upon her shoulder, looked her in the eyes and said..... -"Listen sweetheart, you're not that special" and turned around to join my friends. As a woman who isn't really that beautiful, but I guess I'm alright so I'll speak :P Every time I am too nice, I get people that will NOT leave me alone. Literally, I have people stalking me, showing up to my work etc. Sometimes I find myself being slightly rude as a defense mechanism and have to stop myself. But I mean.. even now I have a coworker who I was nice to, who is getting very angry at me for not responding to him on instagram, and who is acting very inappropriate. Men can be extremely entitled when it comes to women. It's scary af being a woman.

I FINALLY figured out how to get women in my mid 20''s. You simply have to project that you don't give a s*it if they'll talk to you or not. And believe it or not that made women go out of their way to talk to me. As they are intrigued why I could care less about them and makes them want to hang out. And rule #1) NEVER send a drink over to a woman that you don't know. As that ALWAYS creeps women out. #2) You have to be able to make them laugh. #3) Don't compliment them until they give you a reason too. And BTW, once you get "it" out of your system you'll come to the conclusion that you woefully overrated women regardless of how they look!

I knew of a beautiful male and female who were near suicidal and at best torn when all their lives were about the advantage of looking beautiful physically as opposed to a deeper soulful personality. They could get into clubs or have anyone they wanted just because of their looks. It upset me that beauty is often classified as a physical attribute rather than the whole person. SAD.
I had a good looking guy as a client for a clothing line.. he kept on taking his shirt off waiting for me and my friend to make a comment. I told him casually that my chest measurement was surprisingly bigger than his... he got really quiet afterwards lol

Farhiya A -- You should strive to have good character no matter how good you look. In the long run, they don't hit the lottery.....because they don't develop into high level people. A Man with good sense and good character is going to reject these type of Women....he'll see right into them. So unless you want a shallow, weak, or evil type of Man, don't be jealous of nor admire these Women Sister.
Regardless of my looks I was raised to be respectful. I enjoy people. But I've been told constantly by my friends that they thought I was going to be mean. And when people meet me they seem to walk on eggshells sometimes. They loosen up when they get to know me.
