Any information on the cleanliness of this? I'd be awfully scared of contracting HIV if they use the same ink/needles without sanitizing them before and after. I realize the needle they use is non-disposable, so I'd hope you aren't just relying on a blessing or prayer when some jerk that's infected comes through and ruins a few dozen peoples day.

I think this festival is a remnant of the ritual preparation ancient warriors underwent before entering battle. Many other cultures do something similar. Here it involves tattoos. In others, psychedelic drugs.
They look amazing, but damn that’s gotta be hella unsafe medically! There’s a reason that tattooists need to wear gloves and use disposable needles, to prevent the spread of blood-based diseases and help to protect against infection. It’s unfortunate that it’s soo unsafe to be tattooed by these monks because having one of these tattoos would be brilliant

Getting a Sak Yant in Thailand 🇹🇭 is like buying a Fake GUCCI. You have to go to Cambodia 🇰🇭 and get yourself the Authentic Sak Yant. You don’t see any crazy people in Cambodia screaming or running after getting Sak Yant. Look what happened to Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitts relationship it was done in Thailand 🇹🇭

最近のタイではお坊さんも買春や麻薬や金貸しや物乞い(あれが欲しいこれが欲しい、金銭も含む)などが増えてきています。一般の人からのお布施で携帯、パソコン、買い物、遊びといった、言わば一般の人よりも贅沢な暮らしをしてるお坊さんも少なくはありません。
衛生面ヤバそう。タトゥー入れたのならとりあえず3ヶ月後にHIVと肝炎の検査が必要だな。
