I know now what it meant when my parents and the older generation said it was like when John Wayne died, and how he was larger than life and there was no one else who could compare. Robin Williams was the same way. I grew up in the 80's, I remember seeing Mork & Mindy as a kid, and remember when his big movies came out, and I remember watching his stand up routines. Robin Williams just took over any Late Night show he was on, if the host wanted it or not, it did not matter. He was entertaining every second he was on stage. He does not need clips to go on a show. His mind worked so fast. He could make a bit out of anything.
