The MDA Labor Day Telethon was an enchanting yearly variety show that ran for half a century. Hosted for many years by Jerry Lewis, the telethon featured top stars from the world of music, comedy, and Broadway and was like no other show on earth.

Very rare for Louie Bellson to make a mistake but he sure does when he does his fill around 5:30. The band had it right; Louie was off by a measure.
All that and while wearing long sleeves !!! I’d be getting my stick caught in my cuff every few seconds. Great solo, abysmal piece of music. LOL

The band had probably been up all night at this point. Unfortunately, this edit does not have the hilarious moment when they wheeled out a drum kit for Jerry, and he says, "Okay, Louie. You have to be taught a lesson..." 😂😂😂😂😂 RIP Jerry & Louie.

That extra bass drum gives him that slight edge over Buddy Rich.
Adding extra drums does no such thing. Rich smokes Louie even with a smaller kit just like he smokes most rock drummers with huge sized kits. Not to take anything away from Bellson; he's just no Buddy Rich.
Band is terrible, but Louie Bellson rocks. I like the Zildjian Z Custom hi hats.
