A master of his craft. I still have an old VHS tape hosted by him. My two favourite impressions (other than his deadly Richard Nixon) have to be Jimmy Stewart and John Wayne. Uncanny.

Utterly accurate. Unbelievable how he can morph from one impression to another without batting an eye.

You would probably have to be at least 50 years old to appreciate these impressions. as of 2023, I believe Rich Little is still performing in Las Vegas so he's had to master impressions of characters a generation or two older than the ones he portrayed in 1985 and even those characters a generation or two earlier. I'm pretty sure he imitated Walter Brennan and Boris Karloff, stars of the 1930s, among others.

Rich Little has no equal. He nails everybody. Nixon probably my favorite. I would have liked to have more of him doing Paul Lynde. Also, I don't remember ever him doing one of the Kennedy boys? That should be pretty easy as all three of them sound the same!

The JFK presidency very quickly produced the Vaughn Meader impressions and best selling First Family LP. Meanwhile in Ottawa Canada, DJ Rich Little was on the radio doing the voices of the two major party leaders trying to be Prime Minister. Conservative leader Diefenbaker had wobbly jowls and a head shake that empowered the jowls, a nasal opening to most remarks .. ahhh ahhh. Liberal Leader Lester Pearson had a sing song delivery with unexpected volume UPs, and exaggerated gravitas all undermined by a detectable lisp. Rich made up interactions for Ottawa radio listeners. He later used those two Cdn political voices for animated characters in US cartoons. ( Diefenbaker's tree planting in Ottawa with JFK re-injured his wartime back trouble. Pearson was the Cdn PM who got the LBJ "treatment " in spades when the Texan lifted Pearson up by his suitcoat lapels and bent him back.... on a balcony.)

Rich Little made playing in safe, politically, so thorough that it reduced his comic range. At the WH Correspondents dinners he was boringly safe and the audience was cool. Behind the scenes I think he went right Republican upon his Americanization. My God Bobby Orr and Wayne Gretzky are MAGA. ughhhh

As great as Rich Little was in his day, Jay Pharoah, Frank Caliendo and Bill Hader far outshine Little for sheer accuracy in their impressions. It's better to do 15 or 20 dead on impressions than 100 ok ones.
