When I first got into Buddhism I instantly felt a connection to science on a quantum level and the teachings. And how these can easilly be described by the deep laws of physics. Not relativity as such. But it explained itself through the knolege i already had on science. Then after, i started diving into other religious texts/scripts. Even the bible. The kabbala. And deep within its pages wrote out in metaphores and such. Is a deeper more intricate AND accurate science than any modern science doctrin dare goes. And yes doctrin. Or dogmatic belief to not be open to other things that syncrinise themself all in these teachings.

The Weiser Concise Guide to Aleister Crowley Richard Kaczynski, James Wasserman - 2009 He lived in Sri Lanka with Allan Bennett, studying yoga, Hinduism, and Buddhism. Aleister Crowley and Western Esotericism Henrik Bogdan, Martin P. Starr - 2012 - Crowley joined Bennett for several months in Ceylon (now Sri Lanka). They studied Yogic meditation together, taking advantage of the knowledge Bennett acquired from Ponnambalam Ramanathan, the solicitor general of Ceylon, The savant and the occultist By Richard Boyle In the early years of the 20th century, Ceylon was visited twice by the most famous and infamous magician of modern times - Aleister Crowley, or the “Great Beast 666” as he styled himself. Although Crowley attended Trinity College, Cambridge, his real seat of learning was the magical society called the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn. The Golden Dawn taught and practised ceremonial magic, which incorporated aids such as drugs and sex. As a magician, Crowley was in direct line of descent from such luminaries as Cagliostro, the Comte de Saint Germain, Eliphas Levi, and Madame Blavatsky. He was also a poet, novelist, mountaineer, eccentric, and womanizer. Although Crowley was not handsome, his physical appearance, especially his hypnotic eyes, made a strong and sometimes long-lasting impression on most people, especially women. But he made an impact on men, too. He had taken Richard Burton’s advice that a star sapphire was universally venerated by Muslims, and on one of his visits to Ceylon had purchased a large and fine specimen of this gemstone. This he used as the centrepiece of a ring with a gold band featuring two intertwined serpents. Once he stopped a violent quarrel among Arabs by drawing occult signs in the air with this ring.

Can you practice Thelma with out rituals. I like the more knowledge approach similar to what theosophy anthroposophy martinism and theosophy has to offer. But I love Crowley's teachings. Very complex he was a one of a kind true adept.
He was the choice by which Aiwass dictated the prophecies of al vel Legis. Thelema has one main purpose, and the rituals were developed to point toward that purpose.
@@larrywoodall824 yeah it's just a different approach I guess. I truly believe he was a rare adept. But with occultism it's more than just one law out of many. You do have to keep that in mind. Take care friend good luck on your path.🙏🌛😁
We sense the world through our 6 senses and we act through our body, mouth, and mind. And that is why the 5 precepts has to do with how we act through our body, mouth, and mind.
The song taken from Ecclesiastes you are thinking of is called "Turn, Turn, Turn" and was performed by The Byrds and not The Yardirds. It was actually written by the folk singer Pete Seeger however.
All his criticisms of buddhism shows me that he didnt actually understand buddhism at all. All his arguments are misunderstandings and misinterpretations of very basic concepts that even the newest students of theravada dhamma get past after just a few months of study and meditation. It seems like all he did was try to understand it intellectually through a western mind with very little effort.
@Sarah Nokomis dude what makes you think you know everything about it. Like I said Crowley was an adept. His knowledge is far greater than you're is. That's not stupid that's literally how occultism works. One gains knowledge over time. One gets initiated by someone who has more knowledge than you have. That's how all occult society and Lodge's work. Instead of you actually acting like you already know everything. Keep trying to learn. I can promise you from my own life experiences. With occult thought it's very complex and it's a life time commitment. You never stop learning or searching for truth. But there is something to learn from more advanced people than you are. Atlest when it comes to whatever knowledge. That is how it is and it doesn't matter if you're but hurt over what I said or not. I would listen to him before someone on the internet that's probably read one book on a topic. Now you might not be like that but there's a hole lot of people that are. Very fact you thought me saying he was an adept was stupid. You don't get to that level and not understand all the paths to spiritualitys. And we know for fact that's you assuming he was very intelligent on those topics.
@Sarah Nokomis Crowley was in union with his Angel that and the fact he was in occultism. Tells you he did believe just like in theosophy. They don't believe that God is a single person etc entity. As the abrahamic religions do. They believe that all is one that the godhead energy is literally in everything. So that confuses some into thinking they don't believe in God at all. I'm theosophy they don't believe one can give god a gender etc. Because it limits God. And with Hinduism all the different god's to be are just different manifestation of the same godhead. It's just giving something that's formless a form on your behave to comprehend it different way. Same reason we say a for apple. B for boy. C for such and such. Not trying to come off as an ass. Or say you do not have any knowledge of your own. Just with occultism if you can't learn the knowledge from. The whatever occultist before you you simply don't have that knowledge. Now I agree you still have to experience that on your own to grasp it's true meaning.
@Sarah Nokomis I understand they both are different that gos without saying. Crowley created Thelma after understanding all the different paths. That's what lead him to be able to create his own path. I know Crowley sometimes is hard to understand. He might of said something to him made perfect since. But to someone else not so much. There many of the same truths in occult thought and in Hinduism and Buddhism. You should check out theosophy and esoteric Buddhism. Which always thought was sort of silly it's esoteric in nature on it's own.
@Sarah Nokomis I've studied occultism for over 25 years. So yea I think it's safe to say. I belong here. Occult thought is way way more than magick rituals and simple spell casting. I've done that too but for me it's about progressing spiritualy. Anyways take care. Try not to be so offensive. When it comes to occult thought and spiritual teachings. It's a good thing to step outside of the box. If at any moment you're letting you're self become cocky or think you have it all figured out. You're going in the opposite direction you should be on. My comments was not trying to be rude but through out the year's I've seen many come to a particular teachings. And because they ether could not understand it or came with this fundamentalist literalist perception. It makes it a total waist of time. Good luck on your path freind.😁
Would you care to say what part of this historical talk was 'selling goodies?' . How is information of Crowley's thoughts on different systems 'a scam?' Answers are welcome :)
He loved buddhism when he was young, but as he grew older he found more and more contradictions in it, so he started the loath it. I guess at that time only alchemy, kabbala and taoism managed to impress him (as philosophies). And of course the Book of the Law, but thats a different story.
Is it documented that he would abuse and hang his wife upside down in the closet? My friend said they saw a documentary that claimed he did? Im petty sure he was a malignant Narcassist so he probably did.
You're born without a soul and through this journey that we call life will you earn one that is what he meant anyone with the simplest knowledge of occult teachings could tell you that I don't know what this guys talking about
In Buddhism there is the term anatta or anatman. This means that there is no part of a human individual which we can regard as being constant, unchanging and which, upon death of the body, might go to heaven. This has to be seen in the light of being a contradiction to the then opposite teaching from the prevailing spiritual teachers of the time who argued that there was. Buddha’s deep insight into the true nature of reality showed that no such thing existed. Slightly deeper, Buddha taught that we are part of a consciousness continuum, or stream of consciousness and it is this which leads to the idea of rebirth. But this would take more than the few lines available to explain - let alone understand.
Self is a more accurate translation of what we mean by 'Soul'. The Buddha explains for example that physical form is not self (soul) because it changes constantly from one moment to the next. Everything is constantly changing all the time, there is no stability in existence at any moment anywhere except the letting go of everything that arises and passes away. It is a strategy for developing insight. The Buddha was not interested in any metaphysical speculation whatsoever. He just wanted to find out the way to stop suffering, every kind of even the smallest disturbance of mind to be relinquished, which leaves just happiness. When one is not suffering , one is happy is that true?
If you will try to learn from a western mindset that is to categorise and think and learn as a philosopher and theory ,u will miss it ,you find contradictions ,which you will jot understand ,life is full of contradictions as everything is right in its own way
