- Justin Verlander is back in town, which would seem to lend itself to a six man rotation. Looking at the pitcher breakdown, is Dusty keeping it to a five man rotation, and replacing France with Urquidy??

That’s where has was originally, he didn’t come to the team as a starter. With sped up pitching this year he may be tweaking his mechanics, going too quickly or too slow, it’s the little things when pitching at such an elite level. I fw moving him to bp tho #gostros
I wish Dusty would have pulled him after the 6th last game. I think 6 scoreless was an opportunity to give him a confidence boost, which of course Crusty had to fuck up. BP might be a good option for him to build his confidence back too.
Javier needs to go to long relief and work out his kinks. JP is our most CONSISTENT guy. QS just about every time. He keeps us in games. If Crusty sidelines him, I'll call JB and tell him to fire away.
Just let him work his kinks out in a six-man rotation. In no way shape or form should we take a guy who was a dark horse for the f****** cy young and has shown absolute dominance at times including in the playoffs in the bullpen
@@cheyenne11114 It doesn't matter how good he was or what people thought he would do this season, something is obviously wrong with him. We can't keep giving up games letting him try to work it out as a starter while we are fighting for a damn wild card slot. We need wins and if that means Javier to the pen then he needs to go to the fucking pen. I'd rather give him some rest, skip a start or 2 with Beilak and Urquidy splitting every 5th start, but pitching from the BP is a good option too.
@@cheyenne11114 It is a low leverage temporary tactic, very commonly used. If he gets a few 1-2-3-4-5-6 2 inning outings with like 4 or 5k, he gets confidence back. Then he comes back to the rotation. I dont give 2 shits about predictions. Its all biased guessing. Dark Horse cy candidate has an ERA deserving of no dollars. His FiP and xFIP show he has been lucky, too. He IS fantastic, but his head is broken atm, and a change could really set him up to dominate as a #3 SP. Maybe #4.

And you say his head is broken but just two starts against the rays he allowed a three-run homerun in the first inning and then went on the pitch 5 more scoreless innings while striking out nine. They move him to the bullpen it could destroy his confidence so to call it low leverage is absolutely insane. I mean let's be clear about this we're talkin about a twenty-six-year-old with a 2.20 era in the playoffs.

France is 2 good games from qualifying and he has the 4th best ERA in the majors. Something doesn't add up at all. I think we can all see the one pitcher that does need to go down and get his head right and France ain't him.
They don't wanna cook his arm like Garcia in 2021. His arm was soo done by the time post season started. They is trying to keep JP's arm fresh since he is approaching his career high of innings

They have one of the deepest teams in baseball. A kangaroo would have them in the playoff race. Chas McCormick, sucking on the team in ops and absolutely tearing it up with a 280 some-odd batting average and a great glove in centerfield, is platooning and batting seventh. Diaz, an up-and-coming young catcher hitting 2.70 with power is not the main catcher. He had Kyle Tucker, a guy with 2525 ability who can hit for average, hitting fifth and sixth last season. He had no issues hitting Alvarez, one of the most feared hitters in the league, 5th for a while. This is getting tiresome

Who has he brought in or what rotations has he implemented that you think absolutely led to a chip? Was Atlanta somehow not his fault but Philadelphia was some kind of massive win for him?. At the end of the day baseball managers aren't that much different than any other coach. They can have a nice positive impact on the team but they affect the losing way more than they affect winning. Especially whenever you have this much talent. If you're asserting that other managers couldn't win with Kyle Tucker, Jose altuve, yordon, JV, framber and A deep ass bullpen then you're out of your mind. No excuse for hitting Tucker 5th and sixth all year last year with very little line up protection to take advantage of him stealing bases. No excuse for running Maldi as much as they do this season. There is no excuse for chas McCormick platooning. He should be in the lineup every day hitting fifth or sixth. If you're going to respond then you better address the reasons why doing any of these things is acceptable, or go back to licking Dusty's Old salty chocolate balls.

JP is available out of the pen on Sunday because Urquidy probably isn’t going too far. And it’s good to limit JP’s innings anyway. With the way he’s been pitching, I’d be shocked if France is the odd man out here.

They should have pinch run for Maldi on 2nd and Altuvi on 1st with Pena up. They should've executed a double steal or had a it and run or bunted the runners over after the pinch runner sub to stay out of a double play.
This wouldn't even be a conversation with any other manager in the league, France has been our 2nd best pitcher this season behind Framber and now he might be in the BP? Dusty's decisions are just comically stupid at this point. Framber, JV, France, HB, Urquidy/Bielak give Javier some rest, then we can go to a 6 man rotation when he starts looking better.
