Justyn Verlander: We really really appreciate ya Justyn . We loved having you as a Met . Thank you so much. All Mets fans wish you and your family nothing but the best ! You deserve that my friend!
What a class act. Good luck jv
Compare this presser to Scherzer’s. Stark difference
Class act by JV far more likable than Max. Wish him the best and will miss him as a Met
Nah you don’t speak for most Mets fans, i love Max and i still love him as a fan. Go YANKEES!!
@@CelticsFan069 How can you speak for ANY Mets fans if you're a Yankee fan?
Bro that’s how a true G talks. Owns up to faults, respect, talks highly of our team and organization and continues his dominance moving forward. Wish the best to JV and the fam
Impressed with Mets fans reactions 💯 Yankee fans would been tearing this man down.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Though a die hard METS fan who is disappointed on how the marriage between Verlander and METS NATION failed, most METS FANS are not compelled to tear him down as much as we are about moving on from this debacle. The difference between Yankees fans and us is nuanced, but noticeable. even though we share the same epicenter of NYC 🗽. As some one that grew up with Yankees fans,I can tell you that they tend to be obnoxiously arrogant and condescending and would not know humility and class if humility were a bowling ball that hit them on the head.
Shut up! From your friendly neighborhood Yankees fan. 😊
@@kingelvis4688 Spider-Man was never in last place 🤣
All the best to Justin and his family. ❤
Such a class act. Happy he’s back in Houston.
Class act, look at the difference between his response and Maxs response
As a die hard METS FAN,and just a human being,All the best to Verlander and the Astros. Hope you go all the way,and please please please, stop the freaking Braves this time if you meet
again in the post season ala WS🙏🏾.
Screw the braves. Those fans are smug SOB'S.
LETS GO BRAVES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
We are certainly going to try! 😅😅😅
GO BRAVES WE RUN THE NL EAST
@@CelticsFan069 U are still scared of the phillies u guys aren't good against them
What a difference between a class act (JV) and a crybaby. (Max)
Love him. Rooting for him. Sad it didn't work out.
Good Guy going to miss him best of luck JV on claiming your next ring
Good Luck JV! Hope you get another ring before Cooperstown.
now thats a classy man. Ty Verlander, we love you.
Thank you Justin
Class act. 💯 on the money. Great guy great ball player.
As a mets fan I hope ASTRO wins the world series 🙏 🧡
You Mets fans are far more likable than your inner city counterparts! Respect from an Astros fan 🤜🤛
As an Astros fan, thanks. I feel for Mets fans. Wish you all the best.
JV is a class act. As a Mets fan, I will miss him. But I wish him the best. He is a consummate pro.
Very Classy!
He’s back baby! Let’s win another!
JV, class all day. thank you sir.
class act, good luck JV
Thanks from a mets fan!!!
Im now depressed all over again..Thanks Steve..
Verlander did us a solid by getting himself back to form before the trade deadline. Scherzer if you just remove the straight fastball that he gives up all the home runs on then he still has tough movement on every other pitch.
Acuna, Clifford, and Gilbert with Mauricio and Vientos might not lose at all if they are ready. Nimmo might find himself hitting second next year with Acuna leading off.
How nice would it be if our three power hitters Alonso, Lindor, and Alvarez hit .300
Without a dip in power.
Senga, Quintana, Vasil, Megill, and Peterson could all have strong years with Diaz back.
Not getting prospects for Marte, Vogelbach, Guillorme, and Navarez is the big letdown because they need change of scenery and we need to free up time to develop the rookies and trade for more pitching prospects.
Thank you Justin. Good luck back in Houston.
It is so important to be happy at work. I am happy for him and going back to what he is used to as a player. I came back to a place and a job I loved years ago, and I can understand how Verlander feels.
Class act.
You started slow, but, once you got going you were amazing. So thank you and good luck for the future JV
Well said jv.
I love JV wish him the best I never wanted him to leave, but that is how you answer a question that is how you can tell the difference between him and Max👍
All class
Class act jv
If things were different, he could have been a big part of this team for at least a few years.
Class act thanks Justin
JV and Robertson were doing quite well, even though JV had a super slow start. The big issues were Max and the rest of the pitching staff did not produce. The position players at the plate, not one of them were producing at any kind of good level. Tommy Pham had the highest BA for us. It’s been so ridiculous to watch this team underperform this year. Highest batting average right now is something like .254or something like that. And I think that’s only two players.
Shoot, I'd gladly move to Houston for ONE million!
It's unfortunate, they decided to just let everyone go. No fans are going to show up. We got swept by the Royals. Crazy !! Should have kept VL and DR.
Justin, You are a class act!! I hope you win another W.S.
Justyn..
Good to see you back where you belong Justin 💪 Go Strong
Class act. Unlike Max.
Mets just weren't into Max or Justin
Translation: the checks cleared
JV got more class than Scherzer
The Mets. Lol.
I hope the astros and rangers face each other so we can see jv vs mad max.
As a yankees fan....i respect jv
Classy
"Thanks for the money, wish I could've helped."
As a life long no faith in the Mets fan . I was all in on dumping Degrom and replacing him w Verlander and I don't think trading him was a good move but now I know the Mets owner clueless Cohen isn't going to restore my faith that I will see another championship season before I die !! Good Justin 👍
This might be the dumbest comment I’ve ever seen regarding the Mets this year. Obviously there are going to be a lot of people who don’t know enough about how baseball works to form a valid opinion. If you wanted Steve Cohen to keep all the short-term players rather than strengthening the farm system, then you’re the one that’s clueless. Everyone around baseball knows that the Mets took the correct approach. Obviously wasn’t the situation that they’d like to be in, but they made the most of it. If you want to see a championship in your lifetime, you should be glad the Mets did what they did.
@@rupincr6082 How many years have you followed the Mets ? How many end of the season collapses have you witnessed ? Every utube video I've seen agrees with me
Kieth Hernandez also agrees this was a major collapse of the ball club...
@@thefishhobbyist5478fr 😂😂 what did some of these fans expect Cohen to do ? I see Yankees fans livid that their team did absolutely nothing at the deadline in comparison.. Now I'm not happy with how the season turned out but I'm happy with the decisions they made to trade for these short term pieces and hopefully getting something out of these prospects while also boosting value back into the farm system ! It was the right decision with the hand they were dealt. Case closed
There’s a difference between saying this was a major collapse and the moves that the Mets made at the deadline. Given the situation, the Mets absolutely made the right moves. Keith hernandez did not say anything to support what you’re saying. Either in two years the Mets would have nothing for scherzer, verlander, Robertson, canha, and Pham; or they could have a top 10 farm system which would’ve taken years of good drafting. I’ll take the prospects. @@imagine9265
@@imagine9265 I agree with you, trading JV for "unknown" prospects Halfway in the deal, after he was pitching his best ball to the tune of 1. etc. era was questionable at best
Welcome back to the H
😢
And JV just confirmed that the Mets have no plans on winning nect year and they are punting on the 2024 season. Anybody else who thinks otherwise are extremely illogical and not facing reality. JV your a class act and hope ypu get better treatment from the Astros
He said no such thing
@fredhoss1662 rewarch the press conference. He said that Cohen told him they were going in a different direction and is non-committal on winning next year, so that's why JV wanted out so he can win this year and possibly next year. Be realistic and stop living in a fantasy where the prospects will be superstars next year and they will sign mid tier players that will all of a sudden be great to carry them into the playoffs come on. it all takes time back to square one
I'm not living in a fantasy world. Stop putting words in people's mouths. Did you see Cohen's presser?
@fredhoss1662 Yeah, and of course, he has to say that any owner or gm.woukd say that, but he also did say indirectly they are not signing players like ohtani and going to stay smaller so how does that equal to winning next year? They will be contenders again, hopefully, but more like 3-4 years. He also did say they will try and work things out with Pete, but if not, they may be ok with him walking. Just believe in the process, right? I'll believe it in about 3 years if things work out like the organization hopes it will work out, but I'll believe it when I see it. I've seen this too many times to have faith in this team
You don't need to spend big to win just look at Miami Baltimore Cincy etc. Youth wins. Mets need a left fielder dh and pitching. Cohen has the resources he's just not bringing in over priced free agents next year. That doesn't mean he won't try to improve the team.
If Dylan McDermott and R. Lee Earmy had a child…
WALLY!
1986 and counting. Steve Cohen gets a pass only because he's still new. So far this is 2 epic failures in a row. 2022 and2023
Players that need to go: 1. Lindor 2. McNeil 3. Nimmo 4. Alonso 5. Voguelbach. These guys have to go because they are all already spent on this team- They are deflated and they're not coming back and will never win a World Series. It is what it is.
Oh course you have 86 millions of reasons 🤭🤭
Its not all about money.
@@patricksainclair2384 yes it is
@@patricksainclair2384 Keep dreaming
He was gonna get 86 million either way, so no, it had nothing to do with money. Back to bed kid.
@@joedawg713 thats literally my point. you read it with your feelings sir.
..And if the Astros are in the same spot next year as the Mets are in right now, maybe he'll just get traded back to NY. What's the difference.
If only the angels were the smart
he has no upper lip
I'm so glad he's gone from the mets!! The mets would have ruined the last few years of his career!! It's honestly a dream come true that he's back on my stros!!!
These guys were not leaders, what they do but go and run to a contender, you're supposed take this team to the next level, cowards GTHOH
the mets don't committ to the players or winning-be glad you're out of that place
Just another retirement plan met
He don’t want to be in that radical republican racist state. 😂
Go get that ring JV!
You are finally home. You deserved to win big instead of playing for our team (Mets). Sorry it did not work out for you in Queens
