It is great how the improvisation clearly conveys the tone of the music. Gilkes seemed to play exactly according to his mood from listening to the band.
I remember Marshall and the salsa gigs we used to do back in the day!he is an extraordinary young man, multitalented and was always a humbleYoung fellow, Marshall this is Danny Rosado I wish you all the best my friend
Suono morbido, elegante, tecnica travolgente e grande espressività. Un perfetto mix tra Jay Jay Johnson, Bill Watrous e Mike Dease. Grande Marshall Gilkes!!!
A great arrangement for a piece of music to listen to when you wake up everyday and look forward, always forward, never look back... simply truly refined, accurate indeed and amazingly beautifull!
@@WDRBIGBAND Hi! Your band is awesome, and your trombone playing... I have no words... except astounding in every way. I play trombone (amateur level) so I appreciate what you're doing. I've never heard anything that amazing and beautiful before.
I saw several clues including hair length, a certain saxophonist putting on a few pounds, but more than that some subtle differences in photography. I'm curious if there were some camera equipment upgrades. But apparently I was completely wrong!
Kudos to video production team who found the most boring part of the song at 2:28. The triangular bass effect was just what was needed...I was starting to nod off at that point.

Totally mind-blowing. Both the arrangement and the trombone performance. Awesome.
He is so good, his tone so brilliant, his improvisations so tight and well conceived, it defies belief.
I look up to him!
Pure joy to the ears!
(Congratulations mr. Gilkes and people at the WDR Big Band)
Marshall Gilkes feat. by WDR BIG BAND I have no words ... you are extraordinary
I love his tone. Confident up high too. Thoughtful blends on the improv. Very nice!

Hello Jacob, feel free to study Marshall`s solo. Thank you for listening.
Very nice.... great use of dissents... a Pat Metheny feel to this.

Such a sweet sound. And such amazing playing behind him, though I think the conducting is mostly for the audience.
Maybe... Wayne!
Fabulous...

Thank you for listening, Big Boy!
Wow!
Eu toco sax tenor .mais sou fã deste trombonista
Love this!
😎 Brooke!
Nice!
I’m curious what the trombonist was looking at while he soloed.
Hi Freddy! He looked inside:)

Is that Shannon Barnett I see? Welcome back!
maybe this was recorded a while ago
Yes, that is right. Shannon isn´t back.
I saw several clues including hair length, a certain saxophonist putting on a few pounds, but more than that some subtle differences in photography. I'm curious if there were some camera equipment upgrades. But apparently I was completely wrong!
That's some pretty advanced detective work!
For a detective who gets the wrong answer, yes...but it was just things that popped out to me.
Fenômeno 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿🔥

Eu queria saber quais os idiotas que deram deslike nesse vídeo? Está tudo perfeito, melodia, harmonia perfeita, músicos sensacionais.

bro this the moment before the solo begins epicly, it is absolutely necessery for the arc of tension
Definitely Not the most boring part, as there is no boring part.
great except for the stupid cymbals why?
Pretty ugly sounds.
