Back in the day I was able to fly First Class on a Pan Am 747 and American 747, when costs wasn’t so prohibitive. Both had “lounges” upstairs complete with a buffet table of various meats and cheeses. Seating was complete with lounge couches and swivel chairs. So glad I was able to experience true First Class.
I can remember seeing Greenland on one of my many trips across the Atlantic mostly going from Germany to several ports of call in the US. This was done taking leave and changing duty stations. All I can remember is seeing ice and lots of it! These flights were of course before PTV's so if I didn't catch any shuteye, I would read a book that I had brought along.
seat 16h and c are a real gem here and best value on the plane, you can see it from 3:02, has infinite legroom as you can stretch your legs through to the business class in front and are the first economy row to leave the plane. You can also use the business class storage and you don't have to get up for the people next to you to get through. Definitely try to book one of these seats if available!
For the price of premium economy, although during covid times, that main meal veg lasagne was absolutely woeful! But everything else looked great man! Great video as usual!
I hope to fly on a 747 before they're discontinued in the future. Ive flown Lufthansa 4 times across the Atlantic. This was 20 years ago. I believe between the 4 trips, a couple were A350s and 1 A340. I was in economy. I remember the flight attendants were all polite. On a trip back from Russia I had 6 or 7 Becks beers and they were at no charge. Thank for the video man!! Oh, and its getting older why you feel that jet lag more!! Take care man
😄👋 hi Chris. Nice to meet you 😊. You are so cool and your videos are awesome I love watching them. Thank you for sharing 🛫. I loved your Hawaii island hopping series so much.
Looks like Lufthansa has good perks with their Premium Economy. Hey, I just got back from Maui and was wondering if you ever done a post about flying to or from Maui?
Flying LH 747-400 this May from YVR to FRA on PE. We got a very good price both ways. Air Canada on the return. Not too concerned about the meal. We will have an opportunity to compare both airlines PE service. Mostly wanted another flight on the Queen of the skies. Along with the added perks of a separate check-in, priority security and boarding. Plus the extra space PE offers. Starting a trip with a 747 at your boarding gate. Priceless!
Good ol' Lufty. I flew the 748 transatlantic in Nov '21 as well. And def had that same veg lasagna in LH economy lol. I can attest to not seeing Greenland like this past spring break when I flew CPH-LAX and saw nothing bc of thick cloud layer😩. Anyway as always, thanks for sharing!
Hi Jazz Guy. You’re my favorite TH-camr and I will always support you and be subscribed to your channels. I’ve been a big fan of your content for a good while now! Which editing software would you recommend the most?
Not knowing the fare difference between Economy and Premium Economy, it seems to make sense to upgrade for a 12hr flight--as you walked from Customs to baggage claim, all I can say is "Better you than me"--I would not do well flying for such an extended time. Am surprised the cabin crew didn't shoo you out on the upper deck, filming as you did--and to peek your camera in FC? Forget it! At least you obtained some serious mileage between the US and Poland, your Star Aliiance account thanking you! Why did you fly to LAX rather than SFO, your beginning point?
Next time try going via Vienna with Austrian. They fly to LA on their 777 (soon to be 787-9) and have MUCH better catering (business class grade in premium Eco)
You should fly to Johannesburg South Africa from Newerk New Jersey on United Airlines on their Boeing 787-9 jets it took 15 hour there and back it was a relaxing flight food was good
Interesting when flying to Europe you do not see your bag until your final destination but when flying to the US its when you arrive at the US airport you went through customs at you get your bag. If you fly into a US preclearance airport such as in Canada or Abu Dubai, its not until your final destination you see your luggage.
I am shocked at LH serving only vegetarian in Prem Eco. I'm diabetic and need protein. That is pretty bad relative to what I was served on LH years ago pre-covid in Econonmy A380 IAH-FRA. Very well done video.
@@zoebells767 It was about 5 years ago. I know if was Lufthansa because I have the Lufthansa amenity kit. May have been an airbus although I usually remember when I fly a 777 because it’s my favorite plane.

I am very surprised that face-masks are mandatory in 2023 on Lufthansa flights! (Even if it is only for USA-bound routes?) I have flown to Tokyo back in February this year, and masks on the plane were NOT mandatory. Could someone enlighten me about this please?
Not mandatory, I've flown the LAX to FRA route 3 times within the past calendar year; very few passengers are wearing masks. Maybe encouraged, but no one has ever told me anything.
If you’re looking for miserable service for a premium price, Lufthansa is the way to go. You can get the same level of service for a few hundred bucks less from United.
1:29 its funny I was yelled at by a lady for filming that exact gucci shop in frankfurt airport while recording my Lufthansa Trip Reports... she pulled me aside and proceeded to say how I should know better for filming people in public (her face wasn't even in my footage)
Lufthansa and any kind of pasta, just NEVER EVER (EVUUUURRRHH ) touch it.... Fkn horrible. Im sure my dog would actually look at me funny if I tried to serve it to her.
Glasses over the sleep mask! Guess that solves the-where-to-put-them dilemma. The 747 probably ranks as my favorite plane. Many memorable flights on them over the years. And upper deck more often than not.

Nicely done.
Europe airports = build a mall and add a few airline jet bridges in there too with a lot of bus gates

Yo how are you able to fly so much
I am surprised you took your mask off to eat food. That brownie looked like it had covid.
If there’s only one meal, then it’s NOT A CHOICE! 😉

That “food” was embarrassingly poor for premiumY!
Chill what about pit-lhr
But still it's considered tight for long flights

Premium economy not bad but cud add at least one service and separate cabin better. And add eyemasks
The way he said Guten morgen really hurt my soul. I’m Swiss/German and we never say it like that. So wtf. 😳
Had premium economy of a Lufthansa 777 from Tampa to Germany and really enjoyed it. Good leg room and amenity kit.
There is only one problem. Lufthansa never ever flew a 777 in their entire long history. 😅
@@nikolauswolff5791 Yes they do. Tampa to Frankfurt direct. They say Star Alliance on them but it’s Lufthansa. They use a 777-300ER look it up.

I thought all airlines stopped using 747's for passenger service
US passenger airlines have stopped using them. a handful of European and asian carriers still have them on long haul routes
All did. But Lufthansa operates 4 747-400's and 15 -8 until their new ordered A 350-1000 and 777-9 will arrive.

Lufthansa has some 747-800, also Air China and Korean Air.

Crazy how airlines grounded the Airbus A380 only to return it a few years later
Not really
I’m surprised that you boarded on a jet bridge being that this was a European airport.
Covid passport?

United is one of the worst airlines, bud! Stop hating you can’t afford to fly on this plane. Cheers!
I wish I could fly in a 747 let alone in business class. :(

I use coat hooks all the time 😂
Was your neighbor cool?
I flew with the same flight. They are so cheap with food.
Beyond ridiculous offer by LH compared to other Premium Eco Products.. thank you for saving me some miles 😂
Vegetarian lasagna? Are they nuts?
Unless one’s fly business don’t expect much in their food
Wait until you try air canada food, it is AWFUL
Glad you wore that mask. Phewww
Lufthansa food is generally weird
No LI Flyer here!!!
He’s actually not a bully anymore
I would never ever even eat vegetarian Lasagne down on the ground altough i really love Italian food. So what do you expect.....
Why?
