A CDM is a must buy. Over the last decade, the only times I was really worried about city's ability to win, was when we were either missing Fernandinho back in the day and in the last few years Rodri, in that central defence role.
It's the most underrated position but IMO the most important and we need back up for Rodri, as we can't expect him to play every game. I want Kimmich, he'll be relatively cheap, he can play several positions and would be ideal.
All of them have world class potential.
This Savinho and Yan Couto are serious players! I am pretty sure city are monitoring them well but if Girona keeps doing this good cfg should probably invest more in that squad and make sure they don't lose Michel!
I so much want Joao Neves at City. He’s an incredible talent.
True. But is he 120m£ kind of good? We'll need a miracle to make this work.
@@madeupstory9510 Last match of Girona Savio was insane....Destroying everyone in front of him..
We'll have to value these players as per their importance. There are a lot of incredible youngsters out there but that alone can't be a reason to get them. Pep will probably keep the current formation and so the profile of the players to be suggested should not be very different to the ones they are replacing.
Wingers:
Savio: He is an incredibly energetic winger who can constantly get the ball into the box from the left side using his stronger left foot. That would then be allow Doku to play as the right winger he has been for the majority of his career. Both are very high volume chance creators who can also cut in and score goals on their own.
The only problem would be posed by teams who play deep and focus mainly on cutting the supply to Haaland. I personally believe that Bobb is a tailor made solution for such teams. He is second to none in tight spaces and very creative which will enable him to get the better of these teams.
Midfield:
Pep will probably keep the box midfield so the suggestion should be very specific players who can do the very specific role Pep wants. KDB, Rodri and Foden should the starters with Kovavcič being the 4th player for now. The profile of the 4th midfielder should be a well disciplined player who can relieve Rodri of the majority his defensive responsibility. The player should also be able to play without Rodri. The ideal player is of course Kimmich. Tuchel is very keen on replacing him with Palhinha as he prefers his DM sit right before the center backs and do a lot of defending. With an estimated price of 25m£, Kimmich on a 3/4 year contract could elevate Man City to a new height. The midfield will very probably better at every issue we are facing right now. J Neves is a great player but its always better to stay within the 40 - 60m £ range as it has proven to be the safest and most effective.
Defenders:
A back 3 of Gvardiol, Dias and Akanji sounds ideal. Sure, we are conceding a lot of goals. But all 3 are world class defenders who were a bit out of form. Aké and Walker will be playing every other game depending on the profile of the opposition to be faced. My only shout-out is Harwood-Bellis who's currently on loan at Southampton.
Subs:
Bernardo: Can't be optimistic about him staying after he got himself a relatively cheap release clause. He is very probably eyeing a move. It's better to rebuild the formation if he somehow happens to stay.
Stones: His injury record will make it very tough to have him as a starter. But if he happen to be able to stay injury free, Kimmich won't be necessary.
Grealish: I can't see a way of making him fit in without building the team around him and that is very inefficient. He can be the left hand side option used against teams which play low block. He might have a future as a midfielder as well.
Gomez: He rejected AC Milan's offer after a conversation with Pep so he probably has a plan for him. I can't see it but I do enjoy watching his energetic game. Its refreshing.
Rico: He will probably reach incredible heights in the very near future but till then, he can play as a sub to one of the midfielders.
Nunes: I have high hopes for this guy. He is very passionate and versatile. He makes runs all the time and KDB will love it. He can be a great player in no more than 1½ seasons.
Walker: Once a second DM is found, there won't be a reason to have him run up and down the right hand flank. He hasn't been great against the quicker wingers. He did struggle to contain Sterling, Mitoma, and he was at fault for the 2 goals vs Newcastle. If he is not going to do those, most of his other contributions are rather replaceable. He hadn't dropped below the 80th percentile for number of times dribbled past per 90 during his first 5 seasons. He was in the bottom 25th% last season and he is in the 60th this season. He has had a very noticeable drop. He still has till the end of the season to prove us wrong but safe to say, his a miracle doesn't seem very likely.
Aké: As a huge fan of Gvardiol, I believe that getting frustrated over him not being able to deal with quick wingers of the EPL as soon as he arrived just sounds very rushed. For one, he was the best defender in the World Cup. Very progressive on the ball, press resistant, and clever at marking, all he needs is to adapt and he might even be the best defender in the world in a very very short time. And so I see Aké as no more than a player to be used as as cover.
Alvarez: Once KDB is fit, Alvarez will be used just like last season, but with more appearances as a midfielder as well. With the increase in the number of games in UCL and Club world Cup, even as a sub, he will play a very decent 2300+ minute per season.
We must also target Miguel Guttierez ASAP.
Great video. Thanks for the content!
Indeed very exciting to be a city supporter!!!!!🎉🎉🎉
Possible ‘out there’ theory for Phillips.
Pep and the team saw something in him but since he arrived, like you said, he’s barely played.
If he goes out on loan only and does get time on the pitch it could help his progression with a view to him coming back more complete?
Amazing transfer 👍
Great content Johnny, but I can’t see City going for Wirtz Ashe will cost too much. We all know how City bristle at the prospect of paying 9-figures for a player regardless if it’s pounds or euros and Wirtz will cost €130m. Even if City could get it down by the same %(about 11.5% discount) they got Gvardiol, Wirtz would still cost about £111m or around €100m. Just can’t see it happening. The others look like great prospects, but unfortunately it looks like nothing for Jan :(
We have never been a team that spend big Jan.
Joao also has 100m£ release clause. They are even thinking of increasing his clause to about 120m£
@@madeupstory9510 Good catch. Meant the other way around. Will edit it
these are transfer targets for the summer
I've watched las palmas getafe bilbao and girona this season coz of their football,,,and honestly city shouldn't bother with neves coz of the release clause, maximo has been amazing this season,,,you all should watch him this weekend vs jude and madrid.
LIKES CITIZENS 💙💙💙
Is there going to be a Burnley watch along?
João neves is the perfect fit, hes the missing piece in the midfield, hes an 8 who defends incredibly well and can play as a 6 if rodri is unavailable, I watched every single benfica game this season and i havent seen one bad game from him
I think man city is not going to go for attacking midfield because they already have so many players in that position. Alvarez, KDB, Foden, Nunes., Lewis, Bobb and even Rodri. 😂 I think DM is a much needed target and two more speedy wingers.
Kdb is abt to hit retirement age, alvarez is BANG AVERAGE, foden aint that player hes more like bernardo silva, and the rest are not starting level/the same profile as a creative amf
Hope you are okay! Have not seen your videos lately. Would love to heaar your exceptional pre- and post-game analysis:)
Thanks mate. Really appreciate that. I’ll be back soon!
What about Bilal El Khannouss? Plays at Genk if we don't get Wirtz? I know Leverkusen is looking at him as Wirtz replacement?
Name to hard to pronounce 👎 would rather not
@gr3saeyend good thing your not a City scout or part of their recruitment team. You wud of probably passed on Kevin De Bruyne too .
We don't need to panic about any players leaving. But hell I'm gonna panic if Pep is leaving.
Wirtz to me doesn't look like he fancies city... I think city will get neves, paqueta and savio in the summer
Wirtz has been rumored to say he wants to play for the guardiola side
No
@@Lil_Elegant yes
Tell you what, quick and easy swap, Lucas Paqueta for Kalvin Phillips, borderline charity? That would work for me!
We need musiala too
The prospect of playing Sunday league must be tempting😆😆😆
Wirtz
Savio
Paqueta
200m£?! Be realistic mate.
Great as always
You forgot to mention peps brother owns girona and savio may be the more likely 😊
I'll go with anyone who can provide the big guy with service.
Well you are looking for Mr Savio my friend. He likes taking risks but he is ranked 3rd across Europe's top 5 league's for chance creation(combination of quality and quantity)
@@madeupstory9510Not down the wings bro🤦♂️ we got doku for dribble/take ons and grealish for good ball delivery in the box we need a cam bruv pretty obvious especially when our main guy is hitting retirement age and we have a striker playing as an 8 🤦♂️
Troyes pro. Trois (as in the number 3 in French).
Completely off topic but you look like the manc Jon Hamm 😅
The pulling power of Man City is now bigger then Madrids thats because of last years Treble an complete dominate team they have. They earned 720m in trophys that sort of money is dangerous allows them to walk up to players like Jude and be like yer here's 180m and we will take vini as well looool😂
Rodry no
We Ain’t Buying N⚽️B⚽️DY
City don’t buy Impulsively as UTD, Arsenal n Chelsea❕🙄😆
Am I the only person who wonder's why pep never played Philips next to rodri,or did pep never want him?for me he was bought to use as a porn to get rice,so what happened they?
If these purchases or 1 come to fruition, it would be ideal for Álvarez's departure since he will return to the bench and it is a waste for his career.
People seem absolutely OBSESSED with the idea of Alvarez leaving the club. He’s getting regular minutes and will continue to. Do you really think Pep would let him go? The club will do what they can to keep their top talents and at least from the outside Alvarez looks to be the least demanding player on the whole team. Midfield signings are to replace Bernardo and cover DM. They’re not displacing Julian
@@isahamilton01Don't bother with him, he's probably argentinian alvarez fan not city fan
What do you mean by the least demanding? On the other hand, if he takes his place and would be left lying on the bench again waiting for an inconsequential game or for Erling to get tired, then for him to go through that situation it is better for him to go out, so he can become the protagonist of a team, for example Real Madrid who does not have 9 or other equipment.@@isahamilton01
@@isahamilton01If you talk to Pep he will understand because Julián would seek to leave the club and I don't know how much time Guardiola will have left as the club's coach.
@@bimosatriyotid6061 I have followed City since Agüero arrived. Álvarez's arrival is one more like that of other Argentines who played for CITY
We need to sell Kelvin Philips he's bren the biggest let down ever at The Etihad has to go ASAP for the bennifit of the club
Sell Alvarez, walker, and phillips
Buy Wirtz, Kimmich, and a rb who doesn’t cause drama or jog to goal
