At 14:12 - 14:16 the hard-park, the camera angle, and the way the breeze carried the smoke away revealing that thing...... WOW! It was in absolute harmony. And probably one of, if not the best shots I've ever seen here on TheHoonigans
That is not only one of the baddest mustangs in the nation but Mike Maier Inc. is one of the nicest companies that produces the absolute best early mustang suspensions nation wide!
Mike Maier is one of the nicest, and smartest, people I've ever met. I filmed his car for BIG MUSCLE on /DRIVE. (He also built the cantilever suspension for Vaughn's RTR-X). He took me for a ride in this car when it only had the 289 in it, and was railling on a canyon, sliding a few inches here and there. The car stuck like glue. He's podiumed at Optima Street Car too, against people with far bigger budgets. The guy can engineer, build, and drive, and he's super chill. Great human.
For someone who *doesn't do donuts,* he did some *badass donuts* with some surprisingly *good control.* I love how you could just tell her originally *thought* doing donuts was stupid, but... He *definitely* was *loving* it and having a *great time!*
Absolutely love this thing and major respect for what he is doing with the suspension. Its nerdy and complicated but when you get into it the art of good suspension is amazing.
Mike Maier is always one of the nicest guys out at goodguys, always giving good advice and will even ride with you if you ask to give pointers on driving. looks like he was like that with you guys over at hoonigans.
I love it when guests open up and enjoy doing things they normally would not imagine doing in their car. That guys face was priceless after doing some donuts. Cant help but smile after seeing that.
Went auto crossing at Marina Airport on Sunday and got a chance to meet Mike Maier. Super chill and really down to earth guy. Love his awesome builds 👍
literally my dream car. I've watched about every video on this car. Mike Maier is such a cool guy. keeps improving this one car vs getting a different one to build.
I love this video - you've got a genuinely good guy talking about something he loves and does extremely well, the Hoonigans love the car because it's awesome, and then they help him get outside the box. It was great to watch Mike "do something he normally doesn't do". Good on you guys, keep up the stellar content
This was awesome! By far my favorite guest you guys have had on the show. Mike Maier is an amazing builder and ol blue is a sick machine! I look very forward to sporting some of his handiwork on my 69 as the build progresses
El Diabeto Gaming you know rob would clip the wall then make 3 videos about how it happened and he is to blame he knew the risks but was stupid and did it ne way etc etc
I see heaps of cool cars sick cars fast sons and shit cars on the internet but occasionally i see a car that i love and it stands out to me and i don't forget it for a long time. I LOVE THIS MUSTANG!!!!!!
This is a very well known car... I love the rocker arm coilover rear suspension he designed so he could slam it down lower and still have some suspension travel. Looks good with the new wheels and redesigned wing. An epic 'Stang like this and a clever guy like that make for a serious contender
I've known Mike for twenty years. He gave me a ride in this car about three years ago at a local autocross. As great a fabricator as Mike is, he's a legend in the world of SCCA Autocross in the C Prepared(Heavy Metal)class. I believe 8 times a National Champion and everyone in a Mustang.
Finally a 66 modified that doesnt look weird. This gotta be the most difficult stang to mod because it easy to fuck up the lines and look. I love this car.
I thought they were to long to put in without cutting up the front end really bad. Want more info I think Gingium talks about it a bit. also please don't self advertise lol
Right, MCM already did that, my memory is great, but short. However, i was considering more of a road-legal car than a drag-race car, which they did. A Porsche-engine would be cool aswell, hence they are already mounted in the back, but that would probably be more expensive to swap.
is it just me, or does the shot when the mustang emerges from the smoke look completely bad ass
I agree. Definitely looked 100% badass.
its literally a photographer's dream shot
Man when the right driver does this in any mustang, this is what it feels like. That is almost maybe what it might look like lol
14:53 it sounded like someone pulled out a sword when that thing started up. What is that?
Terrence O'leary it's just how the flywheel and starter setups are. They'll make that sound
Terrence O'leary Yoooooo
Just said the same thing big homie.. like why do it sound like somebody pulling out of samurai sword when he crunk it up
Terrence O'leary that made me hard
so lit.
Terrence O'leary what is your profile pic? I cant remember what its from or what it's called

Man, those Nascar type motors have a special RIP sound when the throttle gets blipped; I just love it, especially in an early Mustang body !!
arkhsm ford lol 100%
Lightweight internals, balanced perfectly.
Completely agree, made me want to watch 20 other Nascar Vehicle startup videos. Now I want a Roush-Yates small Block in my Notchback
14:13 I got chills down my body thinking of whom the bell tolls being played as that beast of car emerged from the smoke.
A person of culture and Badass music I see
That is not only one of the baddest mustangs in the nation but Mike Maier Inc. is one of the nicest companies that produces the absolute best early mustang suspensions nation wide!
Guy explained the suspension really well
Now this is the stuff of dreams. That Mustang's a beauty!

Might be an unpopular opinion, but I honestly dig this mustang more than the Hoonicorn.
JubalsWish god yeah the hoonicorn is pretty trashy. Doesn't have any class
JubalsWish It's like between a classic look and the hoonicorn look
JubalsWish Ayyyy, sup m8, I agree
i agree
100% agree
For someone who *doesn't do donuts,* he did some *badass donuts* with some surprisingly *good control.* I love how you could just tell her originally *thought* doing donuts was stupid, but... He *definitely* was *loving* it and having a *great time!*
But no joke that shot of the mustang rolling out of the smoke so sly. #hollywood
Absolutely love this thing and major respect for what he is doing with the suspension. Its nerdy and complicated but when you get into it the art of good suspension is amazing.
That mustang is 3 years older than hert lmao (4/20/69)
lmao
hert was born on 4/20. GOAT
is hert really that old
hert is not 49 years old morons
Its Samuel lol
Mike Maier is always one of the nicest guys out at goodguys, always giving good advice and will even ride with you if you ask to give pointers on driving. looks like he was like that with you guys over at hoonigans.
The brilliance of the owner dude and the suspension this is a beauty
I love it when guests open up and enjoy doing things they normally would not imagine doing in their car. That guys face was priceless after doing some donuts. Cant help but smile after seeing that.
How did no one say... this dude looks and sounds like a slightly more weaselly Darnell.
Thats what i thought too lol
Huck Huck yesssssss, lol, darnell's cousin haha
Or Rick Grimes brother
Huck Huck ii
I feel like that's why he's staring him hard while he's talking about the car. Like 'am I about to have to take this Doppleganger out..?'
I still can't believe the Seahawks didn't run the fucking ball.

Yeah but don't let that distract you from the fact that golden state blew a 3-1 lead

Yeah.. that 's obviously Ken 's - Hoonicorn little Sister.. yeah.. and honestly, even with less pony 's under hood.. she is absolutely Epic !!!
I was like, LEVELED UP
That thing revs like an animal! I love turbo sounds but nothing, nothing beats the sound of a v8 at 8k.
60's mustang = like
Baddest mustang on the planet. Been following Maier Racing since the 80's.
Still my favorite car so far! I freaking love this style cars!
namelessvids agree it’s like a mix of modern vintage race car
Watching this again....

First mustang that catches my attention. It's beast!
This was awesome! By far my favorite guest you guys have had on the show. Mike Maier is an amazing builder and ol blue is a sick machine! I look very forward to sporting some of his handiwork on my 69 as the build progresses
This is the best looking Mustang ever!
2022 and I still come back to this video every once and awhile. Just love this car.
damn this thing is an absolute behemoth of a build, so well done...every part of it.
out of all the cars I've seen on this series, this one just catches my eyes😍 love this car so much
That mustang wins all the respects.
Love how the guy was all shakey afterwards too hahaha that fun is why we do donuts
Damn, pure auto enthusiast. The knowledge Mike has... inspirational man. Definitely doing my suspension with maier. -blue 64 1/2 owner
His shop is literally down the street from me
william herren wicked story bro
his shop is figuratively down the street from me.
william herren lucky
william herren apply there
Ask him what makes that sound when he cranks it up
This mustang has been threw some changes over the years. Love it.
Please tell Darnell to make a channel and film him building his car please 😩
Excellent explanation of rocker arm geo suspension and the advent of inboard springs.
Duct tape Kakawa on the roof and do donuts. Epic
v i n c e then hoonigan gets shot up the next day lol
I bet kakawa would be down to do it! he looks like a fun guy!!!!
Yeah they shoud do it. That wel be awesome ??!
This could be my favorite owner experience in the lot. That car is beautiful and the sounds and smoke 🤘 wanna see this guy's other work!
That car is so flipping awesome.
Holy cow.
Insane.
By far the sickest donut cinematic wise.... that looked so awesome at the end with the smoke clearing and the angle of the car appearing. 👍🏻👍🏻
I love Mustangs...
ivcars003 and Wiener's
Tyler powell I bet you drive a Honda Minivan
ivcars003 i too
Must suck to have no taste in cars
They're pretty sick... Especially the 60's ones. Oh and the '70, I love the front guards with the brake ducts outside the headlights
America is blessed to have car designs like this....
"I don't do donuts." Pulls off brodies like an old pro.
Doesn't do donuts in THAT car I'm thinking haha
Mike is from the bay area... Grew up right outside Oakland, CA 😆
WoW one of the best looking Mustangs I've seen I'm loving it Full Send U.K.
14:52 listen, even the starter sounds badass on this crazy thing :p
Jon's music choices are always spot on... He should be in more videos just to say what song suits the car.
WE WANT THE HOONICORN!!!!!! (and ken)
Ooh or Rob Dahm and his 4-rotor awd rx7
Once it's done
El Diabeto Gaming you know rob would clip the wall then make 3 videos about how it happened and he is to blame he knew the risks but was stupid and did it ne way etc etc
El Diabeto Gaming if he gets it running 😂 #idontgiveadahm
Gonzalez Jr that's a big if #fuckrob
rob would just use an excessive amount of hand gestures to talk his way out of not doing any donuts or burnouts in his rare machine
I'm a chevy guy so this hurts, but that car is SICK! Favorite car I've seen on the show
Best channel on TH-cam
That shot of the Mustang sitting there as the smokes clearing is so cool to look at
Goodnight Kikawa
nick norwood hes the reason why i'm here
My favorite episode so far! That guy really knows his stuff! You can see mechanic guy getting really interested in it
Personally think the building of the vw should be a mini series on the channel
Call me an instant fan of this builder.. wow! That car is fantastic in and out... that rear suspension.. those dope ass wheels. OMG
Make the beetle rotary powered
Ths car is SO nice. And that it has so much tech and engineering in it just makes it perfect!
Get farm truck on here to do a wheelie!
beautiful beast!! clicking back to watch the driving part for the 7th time.
Those tires smoke it up real good
So awesome. And I also love the blue with the white rims. So awesome.
BUILD THE BUG
Frank Sepulveda drift the bug
Drag the bug
Like behind a bus or something lol
Frank Sepulveda it's a beetle
Frank Sepulveda slam the bug on tarmacs an daily it
Gonzalez Jr squash the bug
This is by far the best car ive seen in awhile on the channel. WOW
The real Question is did you guys eat all the donuts yesterday?
I think anyone who likes cars and suspension needs to see this. Absolutely incredible car.
I see heaps of cool cars sick cars fast sons and shit cars on the internet but occasionally i see a car that i love and it stands out to me and i don't forget it for a long time. I LOVE THIS MUSTANG!!!!!!
Damn that's one fine ass mustang. I need this in my life.
f*cking masterpiece that's all I have to say...oh and congrats on building such a beautiful car!

Oh look its a road legal hoonicorn, the hoonpony
God damnit what have i become
Mike maier's mustang was one of the reasons i bought a 66. One day i hope my stang will be half as nice as his.
its beautiful!!!
That engine revs incredibly fast and sounds amaze :O
put this car against the hoonicorn in a space race!!!
Best 60's mustang I've ever seen! I need one in my life
Hoonicorn has competition
Prentice Alexander that can kick it's ass
Dude, Jon "This car would have Radar Love playing for it" exactly what I said when I saw it haha. Awesome!
Put a rb26 in the Miata XD

ruk it, stick a 26b in there
I'm not a Mustang guy, but I have always loved Mike's car.
Air cooled 911 swap into the bug!
i wish this guy did stuff for newer mustangs. i'm about 30 minutes from his shop. this is probably the best first gen mustang on the planet btw
this man vin is out here asking for the krabby patty secret formula
LMFAO
Love love LOVE that steering wheel. Seriously so much class..
I would like to see a Subaru engine swap for the VW, still same engine (boxer) but a bigger and with a turbo!
Vursten1337 tiny twins
Vursten1337 *cough cough* miss daisy 2.0

+Vursten1337 only reason MCM went drag is because Australian car laws + requirements. To hard to gain Registration and Insurance plus cost
Fuck that, do a Porsche swap! Make it happen... (somehow)
Dude! The '66 mustang is BADASS! definitely the best car on DT just barely above the BBM M3.
