18:35 Actually Chess AIs work with an algorithm called "MiniMax" and with Alpha-Beta and move ordering pruning. MiniMax means that the computer calculates every possible move to a certain depth. The Alpha-Beta pruning is a logical technique that speeds up the calculation by not calculating useless branchs. And when it is mixed with the move ordering (a smart function that calls the move that have the biggest probabilities to be the best first), obvious moves are calculated realy realy fast by computers. That is why sometimes the computer can take 6seconds and sometimes only 2secondes to find the best move. It is because eating a queen is the most obvious branch to analyse, so the computer calculates is firstly. But when the best move is to gambit a queen versus a pawn that will have an impact 15 moves later, the engine will calculate this line at the end and so will take more time. That is roughly speaking how it works (Sorry for my bad english I am not :D )
Wdym sorry for my bad English, this is perfect :D also thanks for the explanation, having some programming/scripting experience, this is really insightful!
@@amishdevgan9942 I already programmed a chess computer in my spare time. I know the basics of how a chess computer works. The principle is easy, but the application is harder as each of the functions I described are very complexe and require a great level at both chess and computing to be efficient. Theoretically it is very easy to create a program that is unbeatable at chess. However the problem is that this program would require a too large computing power. This is why creating a strong chess program is hard : you have to combine accuracy and effciency.
@@arnavtheawesome8576 thank you ^^ Behind these wise terms, there is nothing very hard theoretically. It is normal that you understa,d nothing if you never saw these terms before :) You don't need to know this to be a great programmer.

Sometimes your gonna get distracted... Me here trying to think of ways to disown my sister after causing me to hang a queen, and lose 3 games in the last 2 days
At least it took two days to lose 3 I have once being on a 35 lose streak in bullet and it took me only 45 min and I lost about 250 points and dropped from 1600 to 1350 ...
me: that looks like a decent strategy. Levy: Does the bot knows how awkward those moves are? me a 1100 player: yea that's certainly an engine move, there's no way a human can play that
Once i tried to play all moves under 5 sec, and the game only lasted 25 moves still only 14 moves were within 5 sec. I think it is humanly impossible to be accurate at that time limit, at least a human needs some time at a certain move if the opponent is really playing well.

At the end, there would be so perfect if Levy responded to the "But Gotham, stop accusing everybody! What if he's not a cheater?" as: "Well ladies and gentlemen, we goth'em."
I mean that knight move to get a better position a few moves later is something strong players do. But it definitely takes them more than 3 seconds to see and calculate all of it.
As much I feel like content creators shouldn't like go after people, and get revenge or something. Cause it feels aggressive. Bad behaviour in a community should be punished in ways like this
If he closed his account he wouldn't have been logged out, and not have the status of "In Live." The cheater also wouldn't have resigned the game and then close their account in mere seconds. And if you say that he resigned by closing his account, instead of after resigning first and then closing the account, you would have seen a large gap between his moves.
Played with 93% accuracy last week... was soooo proud of myself. Just getting back into Chess and it is HARD to break old childhood habits of just looking for checkmate from basically the start of the match. I am my own worst enemy without a doubt lol (rated in the 900's btw)
Honestly, these cheater-busting sessions are some of my favorite content. I can't always follow an IM or a GM, but I love watching dirty cheaters get taken down.
I played one of the Anons on Lichess recently, and he pulled out the Damiano Defence, losing a pawn and rook for a knight in the first few moves. And soon, he blundered again. "Ah, this beginner should give me no trouble," I thought. For the next 30 moves, though, he played with uncanny superhuman accuracy. Though his position was lost (+8 for me, I later learned), it became weirdly impossible to make progress. Magically, everything I wanted to do, even just trying to trade down pieces, was covered and prevented by this positional and defensive genius. He offered a draw at around this +8 mark. Hmm, odd. Where have I seen this before? Perhaps my favourite moment was when, after an exchange, my undefended pawn was left hitting his king and his bishop simultaneously, so he had a choice between moving his king away, giving me a free bishop for no reason, or just taking my pawn to get out of check... a decision that took him 44 seconds to make. I guess he was just calculating to depth 30, to be sure this was the best move. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I feel so bad and ashamed to see that person from my country cheating at chess. I would like to apologize if someone lost points playing with this cheater. The people of the Dominican Republic are not cheats, it was just this guy.
this guy could be a stand up comedian. I almost peed myself when he said "you're gonna have a game below 90, get distracted, by your dog, your kid, your spouse, by yourself, I don't know, you're playing chess on your phone, you look in the mirror and you go" wow I'm so handsome" " (transcription just out of memory, but r's about 17:10) lol.
I don't understand the point of cheating in online chess. They don't stand to win money, and they're not gaining any skill. Do they hate chess players and want to leech ELO out of spite?
I don't understand: on chess.com they advertise an amazing cheater detection system and this guy was playing for a solid 2 months without being caught, how's that possible?
I know someone who is 1850 now. He loses badly when he plays byhimself, but THEN he decides to use engine to gain elo and accuracy always 98 or99%. One of his lost was 96%accuracy and his opponent 99%. but in 3min games he is 900.. I think thats his tecnique.
The dude had many games under 90, he did weird non-computer moves, and he had moves over 6 seconds This guy is likely a cheater but not under your criteria
Not even Hikaru or Magnus can have every game accuracy above 90 percent, the best players in the world can't play with such accuracy and consistency. Always finding engine level moves is more than just suspicious.
is it just me or is this 'evidence' not conclusive? I have played above 90% accuracy pretty often even though I'm just around 1900 rated. Also I don't think Nd4 was inhuman in any way

- When you make 2nd and 3rd best moves: You're a cheater too.
- When you don't make best moves: You're still a cheater, you just try not to be suspicious
- When you make an inaccuracy/blunder: You're a cheater but trying to lower the accuracy
- When your opponent make blunders early and you have an easy win with high accuracy: You're a cheater
- When your opponent has high accuracy and you too: You're a cheater
- When you spend 1-20 second per move: You're a cheater because you spend a consistent amount of time per move:
- When you spend 1 minute+ for some moves: "Why does this guy take so long, it's an easy move, this guy is sure a cheater"
- When you're up a Queen but still have plenty of time, you decide to slow down a bit for safety: "This guy is a cheater, he's up a Queen but he takes so long to make a move"
- Like the situation above but you move fast: "He's a cheater, he moves so fast without thinking"

Just to clarify, the cheater resigned himself and closed his own account, he probably realised they were unto him.
How do u know?
Not necessarily true, most likely it was just an auto resign from being banned
If he closed his account he wouldn't have been logged out, and not have the status of "In Live." The cheater also wouldn't have resigned the game and then close their account in mere seconds. And if you say that he resigned by closing his account, instead of after resigning first and then closing the account, you would have seen a large gap between his moves.
Most likely a load of people watching it live reported him
