I didn't have near as much pain after my C-spinal stenosis surgery but neuro icu sucked. And I had pretty bad emergence agitation. The regular room had a tv. I didn't even know how long my surgery was. It was almost 11 hours. Both sides of my neck. I'm alive. I can walk again. Maybe I will run again someday.
I had this fusion 3 yrs ago, though it was painful at home trying to get up, it was well worth it. Im nearly back to normal, except I just had cervicle fusion surgery 3 months ago. Having issues with this that I didnt have with my lower spine fusion 3 yrs ago.
Wtf happened to you? I just had 3 nerve decompressions and a spinal fusion. I can't walk. Did that happen to you? I've been at the hospital for over a month.
Hope everything went well little Mate. It's a big surgery for a 12 and half year old. I was 38 when I had two discs removed and they put cages in there. Seriously though, I Hopevit all went to plan 😁👌
I'm 12 and got diagnosed with scoliosis today. Idk when I'm having my surgery, but hopefully it goes well. Edit: Guys, I have not had the surgery yet. I don't have a date for it yet. Second edit: I've had the surgery done on 18, 10, 23. It was hell for the first four weeks and the painkillers made me puke everywhere due to my acid reflux. My spine is (almost) completely straight now! It's worth every risk. Third edit: I was thirteen when I eventually had my surgery. No matter how old you are, you have every right to be afraid of getting ANY kind of surgery. This one isn't as bad as most. The risk of complications after is 4% (as told by my surgeon) and the only thing to be TRULY afraid of is the recovery process. The nurses WILL make you walk, you have to urinate before they can discharge you, and the ride home will be TORTURE.
Same, had a 2 level fusion in the Lumbar and, I still had pain so 5 years later they allowed me to have a spinal stimulator and that didn't work neither. The Temporary one was as successful as you'd ever get but the permanent one, nowhere near close. May as well have forgotten to put the batteries in it. I've had so many injections, si much physio and scans etc etc, all to no avail. Been to the Public Hospital here in Australia and they just gave me a box of pills and sent me Home. Not what I wanted but 3 weeks later I could barely even walk so they put me on Ketamine infusion for 5 days, 5 December 2022 and you wouldn't believe it, exactly the same thing in 2023. Still in agony
Please let us know how it went, I am going for discs pressing on spinal cord causing fiery pain in both feet. I have to try, because this pain is unrelenting. You will be better off with the tumor removed. May you heal with ease and speed. ❣💖💜💙❣

I could not have recovered if not for the absolute devotion of my adult daughter. I wasn't expecting the horrible nerve pain shooting down both arms so bad I could hardly use them for days.

if you're considering getting spinal fusion for scoliosis DONT DO IT DONT DO IT DONT DO IT!!! I had my spine fused with 22 screws and 2 rods from C3 to L2 five years ago when I was 19 and I have been suffering from debilitating pain since. The best years of my life have been wasted laying in bed. I struggle severely with putting on my shoes, lifting anything, wearing a backpack, wearing a bra, standing for more than 2 hours and even sleeping. I can't even get through a nail appointment without taking breaks to lay down. I can no longer participate in my favourite activities. I'm FUSED in a slouched position. I take so much tylenol and advil to cope with the pain and as result I have accidentally poisoned myself on more than one occasion just trying to get through the day. getting this surgery has been my greatest regret. If you're considering spinal fusion for yourself or for your child, don't do it. It will ruin your life. Sometimes I wish I died on that table. I'd rather be dead than be forced to live the rest of my life like this.
I'm in the same boat. Been 1 yr now I had my spine fused from my skull to my hips. Still in a wheelchair. Have to have help transferring from my wheelchair to a recliner, cannot lay flat in bed. My wife ( An Angel ) has to wipe my butt because I can't turn my spine to reach it. Forget friends coming over or invites to gatherings. I check out the Hemlock Society.....it's that bad. I'm sorry for your pain young lady 💖

19 spinal surgeries. Many full spinal fusions. I remember the small surgeries. I laugh at them now. Have to admit it's hard. Painful but so worth it.
