    I've watched a lot of videos on this, but in four minutes you gave me total insight. Especially introducing embossing, which up until this video I was completely baffled on.

    Very helpful...thank you. I have been crafting for years and really wasn't sure what all the differences were between the two inks. I use dye inks 99% of the time, but have recently bought some pigment inks. My friend keeps telling me "they are for embossing" but I knew there had to be more to it. Now that I understand more I will probably use them more. Thank you :) Hugs...Janie

    Very informative and the comparisons was a great idea to illustrate the layering of pigment ink. Thank you!

    This was a good vid. Love the pigment inks over dye inks but in a hurry have to use dye. The color is so much richer in pigments. Thank Catherine.

    This was very helpful so thank you! I have seen many ink comparison videos before but they never showed the layering of the inks before so that was a very nice piece of knowledge to know :)

    Great info. I was told to stay away from pigment ink but there are colors that I like and don't like in dye ink. I will definetly venture out of the box. thank you for your tutorial.

    At first I wasn't going to watch this, because I felt I knew enough about inks already. Glad I did, though. Thanks especially for sharing the comparison on layering inks. I also have never seen that. I was wondering, though, how well pigment ink over dye ink works, as opposed to layering pigment over pigment? Maybe a topic for a future video? Thanks again, and hope you have an awesome day!

    Loved the info..my question is, do you have to store pigment inks upside down like you do with dye inks?
    I love all your video's, thanks for sharing.

      Hi Anita, I actually don't store any of my ink pads upside down. I know that info floats around the industry, but I haven't found it to be necessary. HTH!

    Do you have to use a heat tool if your using embossing powder? I kinda liked how sparkly it was before the heat tool =]

    Great video Catherine. I was just wondering which pigment ink brand do u like the best? I have only a few pigment inks but was wondering between mama elephant, Avery Elle, and memento luxe which one is the best. Thanks

    • @CatherinePooler
      @CatherinePooler  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      To be honest, I think it comes down to color. I don't like one brand more than another. They are all pretty similar, IMO. Just go for the colors you like!

    Thanks, I think I get it now. Does it always say on the ink pad if it's pigment or dye?

    • @CatherinePooler
      @CatherinePooler  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      It will say on the packaging what kind it is.

    Thanks so much for these ink comparisons. There are oodles of brands of inks out there, it seems to boil down to price and preference. Question:What brand of pigment ink has a good white? The real test is on dark paper. Also, do you think there is a consistently good black pigment ink? Momento and Brillance and even Stazon black inks are good but maybe its an issue of the black ink itself being a different formula. They just don't seem to stay juicy very long for a good stamping though I am very careful covering mine between each stamping. Thanks for your time in answering these questions.

      These are great questions, Dottie! I do not have, but hear, that Avery Elle and Hero Arts white pads are excellent. I have Stampin' Up's white and it's very good. Black can be tough. My favorite for how it LOOKS is Versafine, but I have issues with smudging it, so I usually emboss it.

    Inks baffle me altogether, so if you could explain when you would choose to use pigment ink rather than dye ink, or vice versa, and what other colouring media can be used with different inks, I should really appreciate it!

    What kind of stampms do you use?

    • @CatherinePooler
      @CatherinePooler  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Carol! As long as you have good quality stamps, rubber or photopolymer stamps will be fine with Pigment inks. Personally, I prefer photopolymer and that is the majority of what I purchase. HTH!
