Aerogardens are a great way to grow peppers! If you haven't before, I'd highly recommend letting the jalapenos ripen fully to red. The flavor is sweeter and worth a few more weeks of waiting. Happy growing in 2024!
I really enjoy growing in mine! Especially in the winter when I can’t outside. Funny enough these seemed very slow to go to red in the AG. Plants I started from the same batch of seeds but had outside cranked out red jalapeños very quickly. They were really good!
Instead of peat pellets, which are expensive, I would maybe recommend to start seeds on a wet tissue or anything, then gently put germinated seeds in two halves of rockwool inside the aerogarden basket, in a way that the root touches the water. Or grow them in vermiculite (easy to wash off), then do the same. Whichever is the cheapest 😊
how do you get grow light to extend upwards if the areogarden light can only adjust to 12 inches@ ; other than a trim , hair cut to the top; can you find jalapeno seeds that are only bush type .. AND also how about cherry bush tomatoe... I can't find one. Areogarden tomatoe package they sell indicate "tall" seeds. Also:Aerogarden is now out of business so can I use another type of peat moss sponge basket
I'm about ready to ditch all of my Jalapeno's! Spider mites. I've tried neem oil+dish detergent and then a combination of neem + tea tree oil + dish soap, and then castile peppermint soap... plunged them in a tote with same solution or combination of and those buggers are still there. So i'm about done with them LOL. I currently have them via Kratky. I have 10 LetPot systems (6 seniors + 3 airs) and 4 aerogarden sprouts on the way and the mites just looooove pepper plants. I'm thinking I may have brought some inside when I was clearing out my tomato plants from the greenhouse - ugh! You have them growing crazy good to the point where I want to just start over. I have a bunch of hot seeds that I purchased from Scoville Canada but these bugs are killin' me! Also - if you are willing to share your 3d printed file that would be awesome. I'd even be happy to buy the .stl. I could do with putting some of my lego friends among what I have growing in my LetPots LOL.
@@rainerrain9689 I sure did, 6 of them and a Katchy. I think it may have just been bad timing with ripping stuff out of my greenhouse and then coming into that grow area where I may have contaminated them with those. My bad. I'm looking forward to a new grow season. I appreciate the reply, thank you.
Looks great! Did you add water before you added more nutrients (before the complete water changeout)? How is the ph of your water? Did you have to adjust? Thanks
Good observation! You’re right this is definitely hydroponics. The brand name of the system is aerogarden though. Guess that is sort of a misnomer for their brand.
This is really impressive. I’m planning on buying one of these. Could you grow the seeds from scratch just in the pete sponges, or do you have to start with soil?
you can 100% start in the "grow anything kit" sponges he used, or you can even use rockwool cut to fit. just have to make sure the water only just touches the bottom of either medium so it wicks up moisture, use the humidity domes also when starting just seeds, keep them on until the seedlings almost touch the domes. cheers and have fun!
I have some banana peppers growing right now. It’s in the flower budding stage. But my concern was it’s going to continue getting taller. Do you prune the leaves ? And I see that it’s OK if the plant grows farther than the light just put it in a spot where there’s natural light?
Amazing plant. It shows how resilient they can be when those diva plants feel like it. A lot of bubbly and sad looking leaves, one with a little light burn. Other than that they grow like on steroids, outgrowing the grow light and just continuing on happily producing jalapeños.

Will jalapenos continue to ripen after being picked like tomatoes?
@@agtjackbauer not in the same way as tomatoes. Jalapenos will go soft/bad faster than they will ripen
@bausgrows Awesome, thank you! I'm just starting my first one tomorrow. I'm trying to learn everything I can.
Nice harvest from that little system! Keep up the informative videos.
Once I saw the Lego pepper guy I had to subscribe 😂😂😂😂😂 enjoying your content . New gardener here !
Think of him as a channel mascot! Haha glad to have you.
I am growing 4 tomato plants, sweet peppers, yellow, red, green, & orange bell peppers 🫑in my 4 aero gardens😊
Thanks for the vid, I’m going to try this cultivar of peppers in my aerogarden now.
No problem! Check out my other videos on growing Aji Omnicolor peppers in there too. Those really went crazy.
a little fan will help with pollination too

If you like that, you should get a small grow tent and light. Im very happy with my mars hydro light.
I actually just got a grow tent and light! I set it up this weekend and I’ll be using it to start my seeds in this year. Super excited

Have you tried that sticky tape to get the spider mites?

@@ln3527 OK ,best of luck.
Is it still producing to this day? Loved the video
They will produce once every other year

Im sorry to ask a potentially dumb question but how is this aeroponics and not hydroponics? It seams the water it over the roots.

Question did u use the same nutrients up until harvest or did u stop using at a certain point to flush them out???

great vid👍
@jackspepperpatch any chance for that file for the lego caps?
Let me see if I can find the stl. It was on my old computer.
@@jackspepperpatch That would be awesome.
Do the flowers need to get pollinated
They are self fertile and wind pollinated so a shake will do.

You can just top the stem. It will continue growing outwards.

Yes! People on TH-cam tend to baby their plants, try to correct every little thing, etc. They really are tough once they get established.
So splitting the sponge in half but not all the way through to the back side, you made those lil babies a "cradle" to grow in... 👶🍃🌿🪴🐛
Great way to describe it! Thanks for watching.
