This video was most definitely inspired by Ms. Bonneys stellar interpretation of Purcell. Her voice is glorious in every sense of the word! Thank you very much :)
Did you know that BB recorded this song in one take without rehearsal? So what we're hearing is the true unadulterated version of BB singing Dido's lament. BB is extraordinary musician/singer, her voice will belong to the ages.
The most beautiful interpretation of this, my favorite aria of all, and a video that is equally artistic in capturing the pathos of this lament. Brava, acatalano!
When hearing to Miss Bonney, I tend to beleive that God himself dictated this music to Purcell as tradition often says...her angel voice really touches my most inner sensible fibers. Thanks for helping me rediscover myself. Thanks for sharing this jewell with all us!!!!
@mariannenatasja Hello mariannenatasja, I am very pleased that you enjoyed Ms. Bonney's video. Unfortunately I do not know where these cemeteries are located. When I made the video I just Googled images of cemeteries and then selected the images that I thought would convey the message of this song. Thanks for viewing the video and for commenting.
Bonney has a much great range than she usually uses, Like a control baseball pitcher who can reach back when needed to throw a 95 MPH fast ball past a hitter, if you take my meaning.
Thank you for your favorable comment. It is much appreciated. Feel free to visit my channel for more beautiful singing by Barbara Bonney. acatalano2641

Fantastic. Too many people read Baroque music as systematic, precise and static. This brings the music out of it! Fabulous!
