Within the first 30 seconds it says "the current record holder for the longest shot in basketball is Baron Davis, with an 89 foot bomb." and shortly after, the host says something along the lines of "can we break Barons' record of basketballs longest shot." He never says anything about breaking NBA's longest shot record. I assume Baron Davis still hold the record for NBA's longest shot made
So, to answer your question, I guess Sport Science and whoever else had anything to do with making this video and breaking that record cares what he or anyone else does outside of the NBA.
