On the contrary I'm currently reading the first book of The Lord of the Rings and THIS is much more detailed than I expected. They're living some short adventures between the key scenes and they're all welcome, I never feel like it's too much.

Because it's a technically good and visually beautiful movie. It's also a really shit Star Wars film but most critics aren't big fans of the franchise, so they don't care all that much about lore consistency, the overall tone as part of a bigger picture and the old beloved characters being dumped into the trash bin.
While I'm not the biggest fan of either, I can still appreciate Star Wars more for what the originals did for the art of cinema. Harry Potter always seemed like something only kids, people who liked it when they were kids or socially inept adults were into.

Force Awakens 8. Last Jedi 9. Rise of Palpatine :) (Phantom and AotC are very close) This of course is just the main 9 movies, not counting other side movies and shows etc.

AotC is only lower because it is mostly just fluff, the romance was kinda bad. New Hope was just kinda boring to me, sure I love Alec Guinness but that is pretty much it.
