This was such a pleasure to watch! I’m new to soapmaking and I think when I tried the first time, I might have blended too long so when I tried to split into 3 bowls to color them, it was already starting to harden up a bit. But hey you learn by trying and watching others. Yours seems more runny than mine was so I’ll try to aim for that the next time I try 😄
Thanks for watching! You will definitely learn as you go and have a lot of fun along the way. Trace can be tricky. Just when you think you’ve got it figured out, an accelerating fragrance will come along to show you who is boss 😉
I had the same problem when I started out. I've learned soaping at cooler temperatures helps, and not stick blending to 'trace.' Just blending until the oils and lye water are fully emulsified into one homogenous liquid that doesn't separate gives you MUCH more time! Then if you need to speed it up, like if making layers, you can stick blend it a bit more right before pouring that layer. Happy Soaping!!
This is beautiful! The yellow looks so much lighter. I’m very new to soaping. I look forward to being this comfortable with it. Thanks for creating and sharing.
Oranges often lighten after soap cures, and yellow often is darker (some turn orange) in raw soap. It takes a lot of soaping to get an idea of what the cured color will be, especially when mixing. I got lucky this time that it was almost exactly the color I was going for. Keep soaping and don’t be afraid to make mistakes with your colors and designs 😊
Thank you. And just try designs that seem hard! Don’t think you can’t just because you are new. If nothing else, you will learn, but you will probably get a great bar of soap!
Oh I’ve been there. For me I have realized it is more about where in the batter I am swirling than how much. Even when it isn’t perfect people like it. We are our own worst critics!
So nice... I have started to try making soap... I tried this design, but my soap batter became very thick and it was not fluid like yours. This has happened to me several times, can you please explain why? What temperatures are you using for lye and oils? I would like a hard and skin softening vegan soap receipe. Would you recommend one... Your soap is so fluid and lasts a long time to work with designs... Thank you for sharing.
I am soaping around 85-90F. Are you blending too long? If not it may be the fragrance oil you have chosen or the amount of water you use. I made a video of the recipe I use most often. th-cam.com/video/X0Ack7mjwXQ/w-d-xo.htmlsi=N6sn3sQ936swWx9f
Thanks for watching! I generally soap with both around 90°F. My recipe is heavy in butters because I don’t use palm oil, so I have to be very careful with getting the consistency just right before pouring.
I just subscribed today after watching countless of your videos one after the next. I must say that your jaw-dropping swirling skill is out of this world. I’m just starting out soaping for college funding making basic plain soap with drop swirls. I would love to bring up my skill to be able to swirl like you but it just feel impossible 🙃 at the moment. How do you keep your batter so fluid for so long?
Thank you for watching and subscribing! My batter actually sets up very fast compared with many soapers because of the high butter content due to soaping palm free. I am very careful about the amount of stick blending and temperature. I also use fragrance oils that do not accelerate.
Thank you. I usually wait 24 hours to cut. I use a 2:1 lye ratio. I have a recipe video posted. I used more oils in this soap, but the same ratios. Did your soap eventually firm? If so, just wait longer to cut. Hope that helps!
I posted it in another comment. If you haven’t made soap before you MUST understand lye safety before attempting because it can be dangerous. Lots of videos on TH-cam. Thanks for watching!
This is lovely. How long did your soap stay in the mold before you unmold it. The soap is so smooth. I have that same mold, but I have not had a great sucess with unmolding the soap yet.
I usually wait 1-2 days to unmold my soaps and cut them. If your soaps are not coming out clean, try sodium lactate, CPOP, or waiting longer (it’s so hard to wait!).

Thank you for a beautiful soap video! What is reason that you pour while the mold is slanted/diagonal?
Thanks for watching! I poured slanted to create the angle. If you don’t pour slanted it will not create the same shape.

Any immersion blender should work. I have a super cheap one, maybe $10-15 on amazon) and it’s perfect.

Thank you. 36 oz is the oil weight in the recipe I use for this mold.
Is the oil that is used to mix the colors subtracted from the recipe or is it extra? Thanks.
I always use olive oil and it is extra. It just adds a bit to the super fat.
Beautiful thanks gor sharing. My soap becomes thick as soon as i when i mix the lye and oils. What is wrong with my recipe ? I am not able get designs
You can try cooling your oils and lye to just above room temp. You may have too many solid oils in your recipe. Some fragrance oils also do this.
How longs it take to make soap then lads? Ive heard theres like a 4+ week curing time :o im lowkey trying to setup a little soap selling side hustle.

Very good chain. Please how do you know the measurements of oils you used? Thank you in advance for your answer.
I measure my oils based on the mold size and use soap calc to make a balanced safe recipe.
Gorgeous ❤❤ May I please ask what type of swirl you did, as I cannot tell in video.
I used a gear tie and swirled in a circular motion just between the layers.
@@sadiesoaps thank you for your reply. I always use an old hanger for my swirls and wasn't sure what method/swirl you were doing.

Oil and mica

Yes always. My soap recipe gets thick very fast because it is high in butters.
