Patch 3 was released yesterday and introduced two new CPU settings, Physics Quality and Background Swarm Size. It seems that these settings don't significantly impact visuals but may offer a small boost to CPU performance. And Since the game is often CPU-limited, I recommend lowering them, similar to Cloth Simulation. I might release a video to demonstrate how these settings affect performance and visuals, but I'll wait until DLSS and FSR are updated and Frame Generation is added.
If you have never played it before and are interested in Warhammer, 40k Darktide just got a big update and its super fun right now, would love to see an optimization video from you because apparently they optimized the game a bit :D
Pretty sure DLSS was also updated in that same patch. If you check the files, it seems the .dll file is now version 3.7. They also added a sharpness slider into the game as well which reduces the blurriness a bit from upscaling. Though I found around 30-50% seems to be the sweet spot at DLSS Quality. Also to note, I have preset E forced via nvidiaProfileInspector. Seems DLSS is worth revisiting now
I downloaded the game again. The new CPU settings make this game playable for me. It can still drop just below 60fps but I think I'm going to turn DRS on. You're right, you really can't tell the difference with the background swarm size, but it's possible they may run at half frame-rate to save on CPU usage.
When it comes to optimized settings he's better than Digital Foundry. If you compare this video to Digital Foundry's you'll see that Digital Foundry left out important details about each setting.
@@ImStillWoody Yes, I noticed because digital foundry was using a RTX 4070 and their optimal settings were Cinematic and high on Wukong, and not considering mid range GPUs or CPUs, for me was a super lazy video hahahha this man takes is time to compare all settings at once, and we can get a better idea on wich setting is best for our GPU

Great video, appreciate all the work put into it.
