- This is a review of the best calculators to buy for High School, College, and beyond! I am an engineering student and I personally use the Inspire with the CAS option, but not everyone needs that expensive of a calculator.
Leave a comment down below on what you guys want me to review next! Thanks for watching, have a great day!

If you are in the USA just about all schools use TI's. The rest of the world use Casio's which are cheaper and faster. Casio's also seem to be able to do a few more things than the TI's. However, the TI's seem to have better documentation on how to use them, which is fine for students. Real pros seem to go for HP's.
We were only suggested and 100% allowed using a 3-liner scientific calculator at 10th grade. I’m from the Philippines btw.🔥
For engineering students, the TI-36X Pro and casio fx-115 are the only ones allowed out of the 4 for the FE and PE exams.
I am surprised that you missed the Casio FX-991EX. It was the replacement of the fx-115ES plus about 3 years ago, and is much faster, has better keys and more functions. It is also much better than the Ti 36x pro , I have both of them.
Quick question is this a non graphing calculator? The Professor said she recommended the TI 30 for class but said that many of her students like the Casio also. I am wondering if this is the Casio she is referring to?
@@curtiselliott301 yes it is non graphing, there is a new version of it called cw but i prefer ex better
Any info on the Casio fx-9750GIII ?
@@woooshbait9696bro you are intelligent 😊
I need one
What I really don't understand is, that switching between scientific and engineering notation is so painful using the nspire. It is so much easier using the casio. As well as shifting the decimal places up and down/(engineering notation 25E3 = 0.025E6). You have to go always to the menu setting to change it and shifting is still not possible. On the other hand you get a full cas system when you take the nspire, which btw is not always allowed at every school or university.
Thank you so much for the video! I'm going into my maths degree next year so I've been looking for an upgrade to my graphing calculator
The 36XPro is my go-to for everything except graphing. No need for anything else for high school. $22 at Walmart and Target.
never give up man thanks a ton
If you want a graphing calculator, GET THE CASIO CG50.
Its between 2 and 10 times faster than the ti-84 for a lot less money, ui is more intuitive and it has 3d graphing functions. its really a no brainer.
The reason ti84 is recommended in america is that they have a monopoly on school calcs due to them being the main choice for textbooks and as such teachers.
Lifesaver, much appreciated considering my honors alg. 2 is starting tomorrow.
Yes. But with the 2021 updates ti has got better. Anyway. CG is cheaper and good. But, for example, I own both ti30x marhprint and the 991ex. Casio has a bunch of things more (and lack of others)... but usability is way under. Then, you can be more used to a specific OS. I mean, TI 84 is not bad. Casio has the usual "chaotic" layout. That said i bought the cg, because is cheaper. I would buy both and try which one is the best if I could...
Good review. The TI-36X pro is a nice calculator, except for some reason TI originally made the keys in the right row silver, not sure what the point of that was, because the reflectiveness makes it hard to see the symbol. Now they might have changed something up with the design because the one I saw in Walmart had all silver keys, whereas on Amazon I see some silver keys now have symbols with black outline, and I even read a recent review where the keys that were silver are now gray plastic with white symbols- making those much easier to read.
one person in my geo class has the silver, everyone else including me with a 36x pro has the Grey one, which looks a lot better
The ones at school have the silver symbols, but the one i bought from walmart has the grey button, i think the designed changed was 2017-2021 roughly, idk which tho
At my high school this calculator was banned from exams
quick to the point, could add onto the side more ups and downs besides that solid, keep up random reviews of school stuff. Might pay off with enough random buys, vlogs of what is normal to find maybe? great stuff
Thank you for getting straight to the point
How about hp prime? And how about SwissMicros DM42. I want a comparison.
But my personal recommendation for everyday life is to use apps (CAS, Calcs)
Very helpful Thanks !
Any suggestions on which calculator to use for college intermediate algebra?
Ti84
@@OH-vh6vi the school I attend stated that it has to be a non-graphing calculator.
This is very useful
For coding, I would choose the NumWorks.
And for everything else, I would choose the Casio ClassPad II
Looks like Texas Instruments dominates the field.
In my opinion it does Cassio has great options but the TI interface is just the cleanest in my opinion
Informative.
Thanks, good information To Learn im highschool ang my adviser Tells us that one day we will Use a calculator
What about a calculator for Calculus III. My professor won’t let us use graphing calculators, but only scientific calculators.
Without a doubt use the Casio FX-991EX. It was the replacement of the fx-115ES plus about 3 years ago, and is much faster, has better keys and more functions. It is also much better than the Ti 36x pro , I have both of them.
What’s a good one for pre calculus ?
thank you. helped me a lot
Love TI instruments graphing calculators
What is it with you Americans and TI? Slow, badly mechanically buildt, and wiggling on the desk. Compared to Numworks, HP, Casio and Sharp, it is in last place.
What about the Casio FX-CG50?
That's the best choice I believe
This was great thank you 🙏🏾
The TI-36X Pro needs to be backlit or something. I can't use it in the dark
The ti cas one different than the one just like it that doesn’t say it’s cas?
I’m a computer science major, I’m not sure what will work.
CAS stands for computer algebraic system. It basically gives you the ability to solve for variables and indefinite integrals. A non cas n-spire can’t do that. A lot of classes ban cas calculators for that reason
I had an n-spire non cas and I loved it, but in engineering due to being able to take notes on them it is banned in most classes so I had to buy a ti-84 to use for some classes and a ti-36 for classes that won’t allow graphing calculators
@@chancewagner wow. Yea I bought the nspire cas and ti84. Found the cas for 80 so I thought why not, because I’ll eventually take more higher level Maths. I hope they let me use it in my classes though...
All I want is a scientific calculator with a back lit screen. Anyone have any recommendations???
Most college use a ti 89 not to naspire cas
Just Los my cassio 911ex my finals are next week pray for me
heyy im really stressed please tell me a good calculator for cheap or somewhere i can rent TI is very expensive please help i have my SAT in a month any help would be appreciated 🙏🙏
11 months late but the black and white versions of the Ti-84 aren’t too expensive.
Any model of the Casio Fx-30(if allowed) are also extremely effective
Going for BioStats degree....which would you recommend

@@bradryan4041 thank you! I appreciate it, especially since my classes start up in a few weeks
Me trying to play incremental game inside calculator but the cap is 10^100
Most college don't except Cas calculators in class
What calculator is the best for SAT?
Any scientific calculator would do. (I used the Casio FX-991es and it worked perfectly fine. In all honesty you dont really require the calculator for most of the questions. A graphing calculator might be a bit of an overkill but thats just what I think. Go with what you like best but do check the SAT calculator policy to check which ones are allowed)
you obviously need all of them
Pensei que era a de 20 reais da Kalunga! Agora vou seguir seus conselhos 😍😍🤗🤗🤗
I’m
TI over priced and outdated fx-CG50 way better than the TI 83,84 etc crap and takes AAA a big selling point to me
The most powerful is HP Prime just untouchable leaves all in the dust tho because it touch screen based so much one may as well use a smartphone with an graphic calculator App guess that’s why HP have dropped support and leaving this market
For TI it’s lost it’s main selling point as it supports C/C++ ASM made a big deal yet removed this feature via firmware update so those who purchased it now have a downgraded calculator tho CASIO one can easily write C and ASM apps for it tho just not official from CASIO tho the company hasn’t prevented it.
Ti 36 x pro don't give u exact answers
Pretty old
what a worthless review, you barely said anything about the scientific calculators
heh??
TI and Casio are pieces of junk. Buy an HP; the best or nothing
Really? Have you owned all of them? I have got top-of-the-line model for both HP & Casio.. HP Prime is fast & has lots of functions but difficult to use - at least for students.. Casio CG50 is not as fast but so much easier to use - more "educational" I would say.. BTW I used to own a TI calculator in 1990s - it's just basic entry level.. I didn't like it but I won't comment on TI - maybe you are right it's junk.. :-D
I have used and still using for 7 years the Casio fx-991ES PLUS and it works perfectly.
Maybe in the 80s-90s. I own an HP33s and HP35s because I'm used to the RPN system. The keyboard is not very good. you have to press some keys more times to get the value. Never had these problems with the cheap casio years ago.
@@fabioa.565 Very true. As an HP collector (116 different models) there certainly are some dogs in the bunch. If you need a more modern machine to use every day, may I suggest trying HP 11C, HP 12C (pre 1985), HP 32SII or an HP42s. Personally, I use an HP97 for the red LED display and the printer. Still going strong after 45 years
@@walterwhite6300 yeah, hp15C and HP42s are my favorite ones. I would like to get one of those but on ebay they cost too much.
The best calculator for high school, college and life, is called a phone
bruh what..
