Thank you so very much for this. Much easier than I thought it would be. Just bought a 2012 Accord coupe EXL V6 and one headlight needs adjusting. I guess I can thank Honda as well for making yet another thing easy to maintain on the Accords!
The guide on the edge under the hood is misleading for some reason. I turned it counterclockwise to make mine go up. It was telling me opposite. But it was really easy with the correct width screwdriver. I used the gear teeth and just rotated the screwdriver to turn it. It literally took 5 minutes after I figured out how to use the gear teeth. There is no reason to try to get a socket on it. It wasn't in a bind and took basically no torque to turn it. Thanks for the help.
Hi man thanks for the tip. I have a honda accord 2009 that didn't pass the test because both headlights were to low. They said that I have a sensor on my rear left wheel that senses if the car is loaded and adjust the headlight position automatically. The sensor is like a lever arm that is broken. Do you have the same setup? And is this true? Maybe yours is also broken but you overrided it mechanically.
I am not aware of a sensor. I have never heard of such a thing. I am glad this video helped you, and the way I adjusted the headlights is the way the manual states to do it as well.
Chaldean the sensor they’re talking about is in certain Acura’s “as far as Honda’s products”. It’s equipped in Acura’s with high internists discharge headlight setup. The TSX and the RL had them. But Honda Accords didn’t have them since they went from conventional halogens to Leds in the newer generations.
Instead of trying to turn the adjustment bolt with a wrench, the system has a toothed adjustment which can be changed by using a long-handled Philips screwdriver.
@@KReesethebeast Good video! Joey Anderson is correct to use a Philips screwdriver. In the video you said you could use a flathead screwdriver and it is very tedious. Using a Philips screwdriver is very quick on easy. The teeth on the adjustment bolt are made to be used with a long-handled Phillips screwdriver.
It's very easy to remove the air box.2 10mm bolts and a hose clamp and the wire on the air box.then with an extension and a 10mm box socket, you can make the head light adjustment.it should take you about ten minutes from start to finish.its very easy this way.
Recently i bought led headlight and as usual the light pattern is so high that it aimed at trees. Idk why but before, when i use stock halogen, the light pattern was perfectly fine. Thx to u now my led aim at road and not blind other people. But, how about my high beam? I use stock halogen bcs this will keep me safe when it's raining. Will it follow the low beam adjustment or what? If so, then now my high beam is not as high as the stock adjustment.
Ok. The thing with LED and HID is technically, they should be in a projector lens. That is what causes the issues with blinding others and the wild beam patterns. I am running LED in my high and low. My headlights were aimed very low. I aimed them up and that has put my low beams normal, but my highs are a little higher. I could fine tune them if I really wanted to, but they are not too far off normal. I hope that helps you out.
@@KReesethebeast is it really work? If it works then i will go cheap on high beam bcs it just rarely used. I'm afraid i bought something that doesn't fix my problem.
Thanks for this information I thought the bulbs I had in it were replaced with junk so I bought led and they were still only right in front of the car very dangerous. Yes the driver side is a pain in the *** but I got it ready for dark to see if it's right. I got them lined up with the bright lights but Thanks Again!
It was exactly the same on mine. Counterclockwise made mine go up. I was using the gear teeth to turn it clockwise, and after about 10 or 12 teeth, I realized it was going down. It is, in fact, Counterclockwise to go up.
@@KReesethebeast Thanks. I guess they took them out, I checked the repair manual and it says to align the cutoff to the height of the center of the light using a wall. Too bad, having a bubble to align the lights was freaking smart. I guess they didn't want to be held responsible for misaligned lights.
Do you mean vertical or horizontal? What I showed is all you can do, which is vertical up and down, not horizontal, or side to side. I hope this helps.
My goofy ass been taking the whole headlight out... thank you fam you're the real og
No problem!
Thank you for the only video showing this and not a whole replacement!!!!!!
You're welcome
Thank you for for your video. I can now help my folks adjust the driver side headlight.
Glad this helped you and your folks!

This was helpful. Can you believe the owners manual says to have the dealer adjust the headlights? 🤣 Thanks!
Glad it helped!
Wrong..clockwise goes down as you said right.. anticlockwise goes up..I just tried it.He said was just the opposite
It is one way or the other.
I didn't even know this was a possibility! Life saverrr!!!
Glad this helped you!

It's a Phillips head screwdriver that adjusts these number 2

Turn the screws to the passenger side or to the left to lower and turn them to the driver side to raise. It's the same direction on both sides.
Good tip 👌
Thanks bro.....my wife it was driving me crazy for that headlight.👍🏼
Glad I helped both of you out, mainly you so she would get off your back!

interesting.... for my headlight assembly , clockwise moves the beam down, counter clockwise moves the beam up...
Interesting
Also I was able to get a very stubby ratchet 10 mm to the drivers side nut. You can’t have big hands tho.
It was exactly the same on mine. Counterclockwise made mine go up. I was using the gear teeth to turn it clockwise, and after about 10 or 12 teeth, I realized it was going down. It is, in fact, Counterclockwise to go up.

That's great!
Will it adjust the same with aftermarket headlights?
I am honestly not sure, it depends on what kind you get I would think.
My aftermarket lights just have the 10mm nut. Not screw driver option.
I cant even find those screws on my car. Its a 2010 v6 luxury as well😭
hi! is there any way to adjust the high beam height?
Adjusting the headlight will adjust both low and high simultaneously.
Thanks man! Very helpful
Glad it helped!
Hi, I can't find any such screw in mine to adjust!!!- halfords and Kwikfit have also checked what do I do- its at 08, Honda accord
Never seen any headlights factory or aftermarket that don’t have the adjustment screws
It is there
yes it is there
Do these have the Honda bubble level in the headlight, or do you need to level them with a wall?
Level with a wall i did not see a bubble

Similar, I recently did a headlight adjustment on that exact car last week.

Point them into the trees and then you can fix them how you want.
You can use a philips head on those teeth on the driver side headlights

How??

I thought accords of this era had electronic adjustment?
Mine is an EX-L, if any model had that option it would be this one.
Lowkey flex panning past that v-tech 😂
Yup!!! JDM son!
What size screwdriver is required?
any size of that style should be fine
thanks man

Think you can go from the tire area, pull plastic back🤷🏼♂️ how I changed headlight out
Yep, that is how I changed the headlight bulbs to LEDs I have a video on that too.
Thank u
No problem
Wrong
Supposed to be only 20 feet away from a wall
Lights are set too high- blind oncoming traffic
I was just showing the process on how to adjust them, not the whole 20 feet from the wall deal.
You're wrong too. It's 25' away from a wall... Beam should be 2" below the center of the headlights
