Beautiful work, Cecilia ! I intend to try this, but one question first. Your outer edge seems more rigid than the quilling papers i have. Just thought I would ask, what width of quilling paper are you working with? I don't want my 1/8" ones to be too flimsy. Thanks for any advice!
Thanks Debbie! I’m using Canson Mi-Teintes paper that I cut myself to 1/4” width. It is definitely thicker than conventional quilling paper and I find it holds my curves due to the sturdier weight. You can find links to many items I show in the video notes below the video.
@@PaperZenCeceliaLouieI REALLY enjoy your OCD! I just started paper quilling a couple of days ago and the glue was driving me nuts (I’m also OCD lol!). Your gluing video was genius and sooo helpful.
@@eviesoap2655 Welcome to quilling! I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. Yes, the glue seems so simple, yet its integral to every piece we make. I learned all those techniques over many years of trial and error, and when I look at, it seems so obvious right? Your OCD will have a field day with my video showing how to organize your strips! 😂

I love the idea of using a metallic ink on the edges. I looked at the commercially available metallic edged papers and there were no silver on blue. The ones I saw only had either silver or gold on black, white, ivory, forest green or red.
Hmmm, I kind of eye balled it, so I'm going to guess it's around 3/4 inch. If I ever feel it's too long, I simply make a small snip to make it shorter. I often place it on the work and assess, and go back and forth until I like what I see.

Yes and the best part is you don’t have to keep inventory stock on hand for all those varieties
I noticed you added a tail to the dragonfly. Approximately how long is that piece? It's not included in the pattern.

Your videos are excellent, thanks for your teachings, sorry for what kind of paper you use?
