@@gators0972 Yep, I saw that but it doesn't really change anything if you were filing your taxes correctly to begin with because people should be reporting all of their income regardless of what the 1099-K says.
@@PrimeTimeTreasureHunter Yeah, I'm not in favor of report omission by bringing it up, but it will change the landscape of competition on Ebay, & the various other platforms, which will benefit those that continue reporting, or others that change moving forward, & make the necessary time/record keeping adjustments. There's been a huge influx of stay at home online resellers this year, that lost jobs in March. Most people do not realize that just because you don't get a 1099, that you should report, probably 75%, & people have told me over the years, the day that changes , they would quit, mostly because of the extra record keeping time, not so much because they are attempting to evade taxes in most cases. So I think those that were trying to make money part time, while already working a steady full time job, & with families will quit, particularly if the margins they have on sourced items, after expenses are thin, in those cases they'll feel it's just not worth the time, & effort, ( even if they use tax services like Go Daddy, ect, ect, ) to also source product, picture, list, describe, & leave feedback , ect, ect. In other selling categories, like sports card breakers, it will be tough on them I think because of the high margins, so if they buy a box for say $50, & occasionally get high dollar cards, of say $500, or more, from that pull, it now gets taxed heavily, so in those cases it's not just the extra record keeping, it's heavy taxes. So I think, after the first quarter of 23, there will be considerably less sellers across all platforms, & I think the last half of this year will be a buyers market on all platforms, as some of the resellers will find out fairly soon, & not necessarily be surprised on Feb of 23, thus listing things they would have waited on, or just start dropping prices on current items to sell before the end of this year. Thanks Dom! I have thousands of cards I plan on listing in the near future, and was considering using this new feature. I've mailed over 1,000 cards already in plain white envelopes, with only 2 claims filed (one damaged). I spoke with a clerk at our Post Office a couple of weeks ago about the program and he said he’d never heard anything about it. Is this just an eBay program they developed for sellers and didn’t get approval from USPS, or is it just not important enough for either to pay much attention? As others have commented, Ebay needs to quit making up new things if they can’t get it right and stop meddling with the sellers accounts, like changing listings to accept “Best Offers” without my approval! Drives me crazy that I have go back in and turn it off! Great video!
Thank you SO much for this information. I have thousands of sports cards that have sat for 20+ years, I had planned to get started on. Been using it since the program started. Haven't had a single issue. Drop off my packages at my local post office, it gets scanned with 24 hours at the main hub, gets scanned at every main hub until it reaches it's destination post office. In eBays right up on this you looked at they provide a link to a mailer they sell that is acceptable for this program, which is basically a stay flat cardboard 6x8 envelope. I ordered them just to be safe on everything first time trying this, they are a little heavy, adds an extra ounce to package but I haven't had an issue shipping cards, package being tracked or anything. Way better than mailing a card in a plain white envelope with a stamp.
Glad it’s worked out for you but others have not been a fortunate. It will only scan if it hits a hub and the delivery info is fake. It’s based on an assumption, not a delivery scan.

To add to my previous comment, and in regards to packaging, you can use thinner corrugated cardboard with a toploader and it comes in just under 1/4", it's what I've been doing and they've never dinged mine to First Class.
I've been using the eBay standard envelope for sports cards for just a few months. I haven't yet had any issues with buyers. However, I did recently lose my top rated seller level for some defects and one was an item shipped via eBay standard envelope. I appealed the defect and eBay denied it saying nothing more than it was a late delivery. In short, the delivery estimate was 3-5 business days but it took 6 business days for it to be delivered. So, I guess I'm now responsible for the USPS performance!
I've had quite a few of these show "delivered" prematurely. Sometimes 3-5 days before it actually gets delivered. This brings out a lot of frustrated buyers asking where their cards are.
Canadian seller of sports cards. I only have tracking on items priced over $40. The vast majority are sent via letter mail without tracking at all. Been doing this for over 20 years and have had less than 20 times that someone has claimed items not received. Be grateful you can mail the item for such low postage rates. Also having a good radar system of potential trouble buyers helps as well.
Hi Prime Time, I enjoy your videos a lot. Just wanted to add my 2 cents. I understand the frustration with the tracking but for myself, I sell dozens of trading cards each week and I have yet to have a problem.
That is great, which is why I said if it is working for you to keep doing it but for as many people tell me that they have no problem I have people telling me that they’re losing the top rated seller status because of tracking problems. thank you for watching the videos.
I've sold about 70 Yugioh cards via eBay standard envelope since this program rolled out. I will say the tracking is far from perfect, but I still see it as a better alternative than the standard envelope with stamp method. The tracking on a few of my listings didn't go past "out for delivery", while the majority show as being delivered. I see how the lack of delivery scan can make some uncomfortable, but in a few instance having some kind of tracking has benefited me. I sent out several orders around the time of the snow storms, and one customer's orders were extremely slow to process and ended up in an entirely different state (they eventually got both envelopes). I had another customer contact me because the scan showed as being delivered but they didn't receive their card, and the item showed up the next day. At the very least this service gives the seller a little more time, and in my experience the buyers are more patient when they can see some progress with their order being processed. Don't get me wrong though, this service still needs improvement with tracking and giving knowledge to USPS employees about the program.
I haven’t used this but would definitely feel more comfortable sending first class with tracking! Thank you for being on the case, Detective Dominic! Liked and shared, hugs to Daisy and take care!
Try putting the card inside a budget "thank you" card. The thank you card adds stiffness and it should go right through the sorter. And it says "thank you"!
I've now sent hundreds of cards via Ebay's standard envelope. You are correct, this doesn't track using the same system as packages, it basically runs off the USPS informed delivery system. I couldn't care less if it's the same or different tracking system. The only thing that REALLY matters is what EBay considers delivered status and if it shows delivered they consider it delivered and will cover sellers. I've had a dispute or two of this type and have been covered.
@@PrimeTimeTreasureHunter why have they had to issue refunds? what was the status showing? if it shows delivered they absolutely should not have had to do so. i've had that exact case & didn't have to on an INR. and it's not like i've sent a handful of things this way - i send a ton this way.
Using the new program is a nightmare. I’ve shipped over 30 cards with it so far and it’s led me to pull all my low dollar cards off eBay again. I began using the cardboard envelopes they first recommended, which turns out are “non machinable”, so I started charging the $.91 for every card, which covered the non-machinable fee. I’ve had three instances where the USPS automatic scanners declare the size of the envelope much larger than it’s actual size, only to then be up charged for Priority rates, completely bypassing first class even.
I was aware because this is basically how it works on Etsy. It just tells me it's been delivered. I havent had any problems except this past holiday season. Thank goodness for patient customers! However, I do agree that the info Ebay put out was misleading. Also with Etsy it can be up to .75" thick.
This is off topic but just remember one of your topics speaking about buyers returning something else rather than your item. I thought if it might be worth it to mark expensive merchandise with invisible ink so you can check it to make sure it’s yours. Just a thought. I think you would probably have to also take a picture before you ship it of the mark with a black light visible for your own protection. What do you think?😊
I've sent about 10 cards through this shipping method so far and all cards have made it 3 of them said were delivered but was contacted by buyers saying they wanted a refund since they didn't receive it then they tell me it showed up a week later.. thankfully the buyers were very understanding after I had explained and in the end all received theyre cards and I my payment. I could see this being huge if it really was tracked. Sucks bringing in this envelopes to a post office clerk just to be starred at like they've just seen a ghost. Even the managers don't even know about this service yet.
Here is Canada a tracked envelope starts at 11.50$ CAD within Canada and international it goes easily to 16$ CAD minimum. So selling low value cards with tracking is impossible.
As a letter carrier I can tell you there is no way to add a tracking number to a letter unless you pay extra money which would be a certified letter. We can scan that barcode that is printed on the letter but it won’t tell the customer it was delivered. That barcode is used for sorting by route and is not a traditional tracking number. Shame on eBay for not explaining that.
they need to pay for shipping with tracking included to be honest. Thats why the post office is in "debt". pay the letter carriers more, staff the offices, allow them to stop working 90 hours a week. simple letters arent tracked and tracking should be paid for. As Carriers handle all packages and mail. working 90 hours a week in any weather heat snow rain sleet. We also take the loose ends that FedEx Ups and Amazon dont take.
OMG! Switched all my cards under $20 to this less than $1 shipping method. First sale... guess what? Had to ship first class (it was under a quarter inch (which ebay will NOT let you put in). Ebay should have said, “go ahead and ship with a stamp and we will not ding your account” but good luck if the buyer argues they did NOT get it.
Wow, I had no idea. I have a few trading cards listed and saw the eBay promotion about this new shipping option. Guess I'm pulling down those listings. Isn't worth it
I've shipped around 30 eBay standard envelope's without a problem. Nobody has disputed and everything got delivered. Like you say it doesn't show tracking along the way but it will show the last main hub and show when it was delivered. I'm sure I will get a dispute at some point but I've sold around $200 worth of cards that wouldn't make sense to sell with $3 first class shipping. Now if I start getting hit with $20 dispute fees I'll probably change my tune.
I sell sports cards all the way from raw cheap cards to ones costing over $2000 (rare and PSA graded). They ALL get wrapped in cardboardI recently sold a cheap card this past week and shipped as normal with tracking. I’m so thankful I didn’t buy into the hype!
Idk if you’re using this right, I haven’t had a problem with it yet🤷🏼♂️just print the label on the envelope and you won’t have any problems. It shows delivered when it gets there if you print it on the envelope rather than printing and taping it on
The eBay Standard Envelope is really scary, I've shipped 15 cards using it and 7 of them had either no tracking information at all, or stopped showing tracking updates during transit. I confirmed with all the buyers and they all received the cards. A dishonest buyer could easily screw the seller, it's only a matter of time until I have to start refunding buyers for cards that look like I never shipped them. Really sucks.
Thanks for the great info! I will definitely NOT be using the EBay standard envelope for shipping. There are too many bad changes happening at EBay now. I heard they are banning the sale of Dr. Seuss books and de-listing auctions that sellers had posted now! At some point they will chase away the buyers and sellers and a different platform will take their business. I have never sold anywhere else but I think I will have to start soon. Always great content! Thanks!
So, my first experience was as follows - I couldn’t scan the card in envelope into the PO kiosk, it told me to take it to the counter. Went to counter - mail guy said ‘this is not a real label, I can’t take this. It’s not a package and it’s not a first class stamp’. I tried to explain in vain. I walked out totally confused that ebay didn’t make sure this was explained to all postal workers, and some are literally refusing it. Be careful if you don’t just drop it in a mailbox and instead hand it to a mailman. It’s not a package, so you can’t use the package drop. No, I won’t be using it any more.
The new card ship option has a few not so great issues. USPS doesn't recognize the T# but you can scan it thru ebay but it is very limited. I've sent about 50 cards out all have been delivered and show delivered. About 8 of those said it was delivered but My buyers did not receive them 1 to two days after saying it was delivered.
I ship everything I don’t care what is it in a 8x6x1 box first class. Comes with tracking. If the buyer don’t want to pay then they don’t want it that bad.
Who ever is making decisions for eBay seems to want to run the company into the ground. They want to make posting items like this difficult because they want commission on postage from sellers, so if they make what should be a simple transaction difficult then most are going to opt for normal postage which eBay takes commission from.
I've always wondered if Ebay didn't have a couple of Amazon moles running around the executive offices. Corporate spying is real, and would explain a few nonsense decisions.
I agree. If you have to pay a little extra to make sure your item gets shipped and is tracked, so be it! Happy customer. If you can not track your item. Shame on ebay. Rich trying to fill their pockets. Shame on YOU! Yeah I said it!
Why would anyone think for 51 cents they would get full USPS tracking? Right now I send a card with a stamp and customer says Not Received I have to refund. At least with new eBay Envelope there is a chance that it will track and say Delivered (Seller Protection). I think eBay knows there will be some of this and is why they capped it at 20.00. Some card sellers have used Letter Track that does the same thing for years, which eBay does not recognize as tracking ever.
Because that’s how they advertised it, card sales on eBay have exploded, and ppl thought eBay leveraged that with usps to get full tracking. With first class, it will give you an acceptance scan, track along the route, and show as delivered. Not so with eBay standard envelope.
@@PrimeTimeTreasureHunter I see it from the other way I sell Postcards with a .55 stamp today, no protection at all. Store can only be above standard as no tracking. Now with this price .51 cents instead of .55, there is a tracking method (when it works) that eBay will recognize. I don’t have to carry loads of stamps just print the label when it sells. Should I not use it and keep using a Stamp? I have not been convinced yet that I shouldn’t and I’m staying wide open wanting to be convinced! For people that currently ship all cards etc First Class this won’t replace that. I see it as a benefit for us non First Class shippers using Stamps and no tracking now. Help I need convincing. What am I missing Ahhhhhh!
@@markjones6453 I’m not saying not to use it. As I said in the video, if it works for your specific business then go right ahead. I just want people to make sure that ppl understand all of the caveats and that it is not what most ppl were thinking it was. Thanks!
If they can't do an acceptance scan. That tells me, they can't do a delivered scan. I sell victorian trading cards but I won't be using this. eBay, fix fed ex shipping screen/ info to be accurate to fed ex actual dimentional shipping and stop trying to move to new* areas. Gotta solve current issues before trying to do new things. Honestly... WTF
Has there been a change in management in the past few years because they seem to be ever more losing the plot with each new 'improvement' that they introduce.
Yeah I’ve already been forced to refund someone on 2 cards because of an item not received case, because the tracking never updated. Now I know why. This is a ridiculous system they tried to put in place. I had such high hopes, but now I have no faith in their system.
Misleading as hell. A lot of people are mad at eBay right now, including myself. A whole lot of bs going on right now. Preparing myself for the possibility of having to switch to Facebook Marketplace and/or Mercari. Ebay is letting people down left and right for a myriad of bs reasons
Just be aware that FB Marketplace has zero seller support. I am in a FBM online selling group. I see it posted everyday. FB regularly gives refunds without requiring a return and seller has no way to even respond. Seller contacts FBM help and either gets no response (most common) or an automated response.
@@lous6465 hopefully that’s something that changes soon. Seems like fb is working out a lot of kinks as they grow. I think they could make a push to give ebay a run for its money in time. Thank you for the warning though for I am trying to weigh the pros and cons of Mercari and fb marketplace just in case I need to make the jump soon. I sell toys so I’m thinking one of those two would be the best option after eBay.
Unfortunately, we all know the true definition of making an assumption is 😱 I never believe anything anymore. We must always do our due diligence and do OUR OWN RESEARCH. Thanks Dom! Ina is great 🥰👩🌾
EBAY say first 200 listings are free. So I decided to list some cards - - got charged 3.75 for the first month. ????? I want to ship my items myself through the post office in their UPS envelopes and boxes. Any advice would be appreciated.
I can see how this would upset sellers in these categories. eBay is changing a lot of items! Hope they listen to all the ideas this channel has given them of what is really important to us sellers!
That’s the thing I don’t get. I’m not sure how it is accurately being marked as delivered if it can’t be scanned by carriers as delivered. Are these all ones that you received feedback on? I’m wondering if Ebay is just marking it as delivered if you got a feedback on it
You want to ship something with envelop and stamp *WITH* tracking..? Go to the USPS website and order tracking labels, it's free, I recently got mine in the mail. Close your envelop, add the stamp and add your tracking sticker on the envelop. You're welcome.
This is 100 % crap I had no disputes with stamps and now I have charge backs all of a sudden . And it only shows the hub that’s it .. So stick to the pricey one or use stamps .
Not only totally misleading, but when you read the requirements, it can’t be supported by cardboard, so the cards can get bent in the mail. Totally not worth it.
It can be supported by cardboard. I use a top loader for one card or a card saver for up to 4 cards. Then I cut up the thin medium flat rate boxes and use that cardboard on both sides. Have sent over 500 this way and all have made it. Tracking updates are usually delayed but they do happen.
@@charlest7311 you are not supposed to use cardboard if it exceeds 0.25 inches. It says that in the rules. And they have no way to definitively mark your item as delivered bc the carrier cannot scan it. It is purely based on an assumption when it says delivered
@@PrimeTimeTreasureHunter I understand the rules my friend. I use the thinner Medium flat rate boxes and cut them up. This will not exceed the 1/4 inch thickness. Don't use the thick medium flat rate boxes as they are much thicker than the thinner ones and will put you over the 1/4 inch. Like I mentioned, I have shipped over 500 this way and have not received any messages from buyers about not getting to them or receiving upcharges. Just trying to give you and your viewers some tips.
So a buyer keeps the item, says he has never received it, charges the money back and eBay rules in buyers favor. Means: You lost the item, you lost the money and you pay $20 dispute fee ? I don't think eBay was thinking this through.
My experience has been that I've shipped 32 cards with the standard envelope and have 3 that never showed anything but label created. No other entries at all. But luckily no complaints from customers yet. However my Top Rated percentage for tracking has taken a hit for no tracking. Also had a comic card that did list but wouldn't ship with the standard envelope. So now I'm going to have to change up my remaining cards before I lose that Top Rated discount. Sort like too good to be true type situation.
When I started to list a few cards back in the day I had seen sellers saying they shipped First Class Mail and listing an option for First Class Package flat rate. I would open a second account strictly for these types of items. Doesn't have to be a store. You are just moving merchandise from one account to a different account. Card problems won't affect your TRS status on your main account.
Ebays discounts are small. I'm going to use discounted unused postage where reasonable. The discounts can be 30% or more depending on the individual stamp face values. Search "face value postage" in the Stamps category on eBay.
That's so shady. And you know eBay is going to side with the buyer if they claim the package wasn't delivered. What a headache for honest card sellers. You know you're going to get messages from people complaining that so-and-so ships their cards for a dollar, why are you charging $3? Makes me so mad.
This is a good vid - but it's also VERY misleading. The program isn't suppose to replace/be a solution for package tracking - it's suppose to give plain white envelope (PWE) shippers for low-cost cards an upgrade and way to GET to top rated status. (Hallelujah!) I've shipped untold thousands of cards via PWE & had conversations with the EBay shipping folks at EBay Open pleading with them for a solution like this and am overjoyed that they finally did it! My biz has been punished forever because ~25% of my biz is untracked. Now I have a chance to get top rated.
What’s misleading is eBay describing the program in a way that would lead sellers to be that you are getting package tracking. Not sure how that becomes my fault when I point that out.
@@PrimeTimeTreasureHunter because they are tracked, just not the same way that "packages" are tracked. I get what you are saying about it being a different system, but it does track & EBay counts the "delivered" status on these as delivered...so why is that not good enough and/or misleading?
Just a boost for ebay before the quarterly report, they don't care if it doesn't work. It's just to boost earnings to their shareholders and the hot card market is the unfortunate victim this time around. It's a constant process of nickel-and-diming sellers because they know the buyers are fickle with so many options these days.

Don't get me wrong though, this service still needs improvement with tracking and giving knowledge to USPS employees about the program.
exactly what has happened to me most are fine but few are not showing up with estimated delivery time but eventualy get there
Always research
I haven’t used this but would definitely feel more comfortable sending first class with tracking! Thank you for being on the case, Detective Dominic! Liked and shared, hugs to Daisy and take care!
Me too! Thanks Mary!!
@@PrimeTimeTreasureHunter thank you 😊
I’ve shipped many this way. Not one single problem. It’s increased my ball card selling tremendously.
That’s great. Unfortunately that has not been the case for many others.
Thank you for this informative information!
Thanks for watching!
I care and so do many other sellers because not all have had the same outcome as you. Many have been made to issue refunds.
@@PrimeTimeTreasureHunter why have they had to issue refunds? what was the status showing? if it shows delivered they absolutely should not have had to do so. i've had that exact case & didn't have to on an INR. and it's not like i've sent a handful of things this way - i send a ton this way.
I'm so glad you made this video. I was going to start selling my low value cards and this just saved me from a lot of wasted time.
F
Glad it helped!
Omg that’s crazy!
I was aware because this is basically how it works on Etsy. It just tells me it's been delivered. I havent had any problems except this past holiday season. Thank goodness for patient customers! However, I do agree that the info Ebay put out was misleading. Also with Etsy it can be up to .75" thick.
Great info Dominic! I’m learning the down side of reselling in more ways than one this week! I’ve been hit by a scammer 🤦♀️ Appreciate you! -Candi
Oh no! What happened Candi?! 🍬
It’s crazy and the delivered notification is fake bc it’s purely based on an assumption that it got there not an actual scan
You explained that very well, Dom! Thank you!
Thanks Laura!
Right and that scan then becomes useless to the buyer and seller because it can’t show tracking
they need to pay for shipping with tracking included to be honest.
Isn't worth it
I haven’t had issues with it yet, 2 envelopes delivered without issues
Great
Thank you for clarifying this!
Sure thing!
you can buy tracking numbers on ebay. I believe I paid 5.00 for 50 USPS tracking number stickers. I put them on ALL my letter-size envelopes.
Where?
I’ve used over 100 of these labels so far, no problems yet crossing my finger
Great!
Thank you for bringing this to our attention...!
Sure thing!!
Thanks!
eBay says you can send up to 15 cards in an envelope this way. Can you imagine how mangled the cards will be after going through the sorter????
Love the Charlie Brown analogy...lol like and share!!!!😃 PAC Man lights behind you keeps catching my eye...cool.
Thanks! I love those lights! Mrs Prime Time got them for me for my birthday!
👍706 Thank you for clarifying this
So, my first experience was as follows - I couldn’t scan the card in envelope into the PO kiosk, it told me to take it to the counter.
Omg that is CRAZY. Thanks for sharing!!
If the buyer don’t want to pay then they don’t want it that bad.
eBay does not keep their promises.
Who ever is making decisions for eBay seems to want to run the company into the ground. They want to make posting items like this difficult because they want commission on postage from sellers, so if they make what should be a simple transaction difficult then most are going to opt for normal postage which eBay takes commission from.
Yep, or they’ll just use a postage stamp
We should just trust USPS and all the buyers just waiting to scam us??!!?? eBay has been very disappointing with their new updates.
Some of the stuff they do just seems like they're trying to mess with sellers.
Yep
I would possible still use it. The savings over the long run likely will outweigh the loss of a few lost cards or bad buyers.
Thanks!

What size is the standard envelope and where do I get them????
I describe the size in the video. You get it yourself. It’s not an official envelope you get somewhere

Has there been a change in management in the past few years because they seem to be ever more losing the plot with each new 'improvement' that they introduce.
Crazy! Just why!?!?
Zactly
This is very disappointing to hear. Thanks for sharing this important news.
Sure thing Steve
Yeah I’ve already been forced to refund someone on 2 cards because of an item not received case, because the tracking never updated. Now I know why. This is a ridiculous system they tried to put in place. I had such high hopes, but now I have no faith in their system.
Wow. Proof of what I’m saying. So such for peace of mind
Misleading as hell. A lot of people are mad at eBay right now, including myself. A whole lot of bs going on right now. Preparing myself for the possibility of having to switch to Facebook Marketplace and/or Mercari. Ebay is letting people down left and right for a myriad of bs reasons
Yeah, you just can’t overpromise and undeliver
Thanks Dom! Ina is great 🥰👩🌾
She is very good indeed!
Great use of emojis!!! And I agree!
I've used it a couple times and it's shown delivered for most of the ones I've sent
That’s the thing I don’t get. I’m not sure how it is accurately being marked as delivered if it can’t be scanned by carriers as delivered. Are these all ones that you received feedback on? I’m wondering if Ebay is just marking it as delivered if you got a feedback on it
@@PrimeTimeTreasureHunter my exact same thoughts! If so, it's pointless.
You want to ship something with envelop and stamp *WITH* tracking..? Go to the USPS website and order tracking labels, it's free, I recently got mine in the mail. Close your envelop, add the stamp and add your tracking sticker on the envelop. You're welcome.
My post office told me I couldn't do that that is for first class stuff
This is 100 % crap I had no disputes with stamps and now I have charge backs all of a sudden . And it only shows the hub that’s it .. So stick to the pricey one or use stamps .
This process is such a scam for the seller . Stamps are key it worked and top rated seller is more at risk with this process due to claims .
Not only totally misleading, but when you read the requirements, it can’t be supported by cardboard, so the cards can get bent in the mail. Totally not worth it.
Exactly Jo. It’s silly
@@charlest7311 As am I. Problem is, there are many people who have used this service who are not having the same outcome as you.

EBay is horrible... Marketplace will be the new go to platform for us resellers very very soon!
When I responded to your survey , and saw it at 96%, I immediately was wondering what process were we all misinformed . Thanks for the info.
Sure thing
I'm getting tired of ebay been on there for a few years now things only have gone downhill. I'm looking at other platforms to use as well
So a buyer keeps the item, says he has never received it, charges the money back and eBay rules in buyers favor. Means: You lost the item, you lost the money and you pay $20 dispute fee ? I don't think eBay was thinking this through.
Maybe they did think it thru. More money for them so what is the downside in their view?
@@michaelkeith8992 The seller leaving the platform. No more money for eBay.
Why are they doing this?
When I started to list a few cards back in the day I had seen sellers saying they shipped First Class Mail and listing an option for First Class Package flat rate. I would open a second account strictly for these types of items. Doesn't have to be a store. You are just moving merchandise from one account to a different account. Card problems won't affect your TRS status on your main account.
Yes I think it’s very misleading. I won’t be using it
Was thinking about using it. You just helped me make up my mind.... Keep it first classy San Diego 😀
Yep!
this is a Worry too many bad buyers & now this will make it easier for buyers to scam :(
Dang!! WTF??? 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️ Thanks for the heads up!!! N we won’t be using that service now, good grief!!!! 🤷♂️🤦♂️
Good grief is right
So essentially this is same protections as a stamp. What a joke.
I've seen some crazy things go on with Ebay's new policies, however, this really takes the cake!
Yep!
Lol I remember that Charlie Brown episode! Lol she really was a "meany".
And Charlie Brown kept falling for it
Ebays discounts are small. I'm going to use discounted unused postage where reasonable. The discounts can be 30% or more depending on the individual stamp face values. Search "face value postage" in the Stamps category on eBay.
Is the new service limited to the collector card categories? Not Stamps, e.g.? Thanks! Great presentation.
Yea. Thank you!
That's so shady. And you know eBay is going to side with the buyer if they claim the package wasn't delivered. What a headache for honest card sellers. You know you're going to get messages from people complaining that so-and-so ships their cards for a dollar, why are you charging $3? Makes me so mad.
Right. Annoying
This is a good vid - but it's also VERY misleading.
The program isn't suppose to replace/be a solution for package tracking - it's suppose to give plain white envelope (PWE) shippers for low-cost cards an upgrade and way to GET to top rated status. (Hallelujah!)
I've shipped untold thousands of cards via PWE & had conversations with the EBay shipping folks at EBay Open pleading with them for a solution like this and am overjoyed that they finally did it!
3 Months dealing with disputes.... I think they'll change it back.... Just a Guess!!
Charlie Brown can’t catch a break. eBay should be ashamed of this letdown 😣
Poor Charlie Brown!
Bottom line, dont ship in this way and charge your buyer for shipping
