The Apple Watch Ultra 2 is aimed specifically at outdoor athletes and is designed to bridge the gap between a smartwatch and a sports watch. But can it really keep up with tried and tested sports watches like the Garmin Fenix 8? That's exactly what I've been taking a closer look at over the last few weeks and months. In this video, we discuss the differences between the Apple Watch Ultra 2 and the Fenix 8 in terms of features, battery life, robustness, heart rate measurement and GPS accuracy. Have fun 😉

Thanks for the English version! Both incredible watches. Keep up the great work
Also, do you find yourself just using one watch or do you alternate depending on what you are doing that day? I’m coming to the conclusion I might get an AWU and keep my fénix 7 for when I need to do long trips/hikes
Thanks! 😊I‘m using both of them. During my daily life, I tend to use the Apple Watch more but for workouts, I prefer the Garmin watch.
Since the last update no problem for me // and no problem with navigation
which one should i buy translflective one or amoled one for garmin?
Hey, I have an in-depth comparison video between the transflective and AMOLED Fenix 8, which you can find here: th-cam.com/video/gbZn1-tYL9M/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=GermanAccentReviews
Apple Watch appears more accurate on heart rate because it will just drop out and not report HR when it can't get a good lock. My Apple Watch use has always seen me shorted in distance compared to Wahoo or Garmin devices as well. It clips corners and those little wobbles and cuts add up over long distances.
Apple’s GPS and HR is literally unmatched. Everyone knows this. Especially with HR it’s literally clinical and considered the only optical HR where a chest strap is not necessary. Enjoy your Garmin but no need to justify your purchase with BS.
@@JB-hq9yj Sorry if you are triggered but you can see that Apple OFTEN drops HR when it can't get a good lock. It an be 100% accurate for the 95% of values it reports. I still consider that a failing.
@@trumptman No need to get personal, big man. I stand by my comment. To each their own.
Not being able to get a lock is a fail, but this can be subjective for all kinds of reasons. Band, tightness on the wrist, skin color, hair, tattoos, etc.
Overall it’s better for the watch to not report HR data during blips if isn’t confident it will be accurate. Otherwise all your metrics will be skewed.
@@JasonRaneses 100%. Also - I'm an N of 1 but I've never experienced what this guy is talking about, ever. I used to have a Garmin for years but my AW is super accurate for both GPS and especially HR.
No one mentions how laggy and slow the F8 is now. Especially compared to the 7. The maps are painful to use. Scrolling, zooming, routing, etc. They also took away navigation features the F7 had. Oh and the bugs and crashes 😂😂
Well yea .. they’ve been treating their loyal customers like $1100 beta testers for their products for years now. It’s gross.
