Even though their eyes were different colors, everytime I look into Maybelle's eyes I'm reminded of Johnny somehow. I thank them both profusely for the enormous pleasures of their joyous music with which they blessed America and the world.
Hi Brenda....wow it's a good thing your 90 year old mum can still vibe to good songs when she hear's one like that of Sara ...i love all Sara and Maybelle songs they are very classic good sounds only
Actually, not sure why Johnny said that because they played together on the Wilburn Bros Show in the 60s plus other times in the 50s. They still got together on occasion in every decade.so that 27 years is not true.
Not only is Mother Maybelle such a wonderful self taught player and innovator of the guitar (even though she did play other instruments such as the autoharp and the banjo) with her amazing technique known as the "Carter Scratch", i can only imagine how amazing a mother, mother-in-law and grandmother she must have been. I would've loved to have been part of that connection!
Thank you for helping to preserve this great musical treasure. And for you guitar purists out there, Maybelle is playing this with a pick and not the Carter Scratch so we are vindicated in doing this.
Yes. The two songs Sara & Maybelle played on The Wilburn Brothers Show can be found here on TH-cam: "While The Band Is Playing Dixie" and "Little Moses". There is also another number from this Johnny Cash show but the title escapes me. Getting old, I guess. 😃
@Brad James yes. Newport Folk Festival 1967. They played Sweet Fern and Cannonball Blues. I think that was when Sara came out of retirement the first time. That would’ve been 24 years, not 27.
Hi Brigitte how are you doing today?....it seems like Sara and Maybelle Carter are literally taking over the music industry They are doing well for them selfs
Take a minute and consider she was 72 here… and that her life was for the most part very sad. It’s all she could do at this point in her life to sing at all
Maybelle's guitar playing is just awesome.
Even though their eyes were different colors, everytime I look into Maybelle's eyes I'm reminded of Johnny somehow. I thank them both profusely for the enormous pleasures of their joyous music with which they blessed America and the world.
Well I never knew that
Love that song and beautiful singing!!❤
The heart and soul of country music being played here right now ...

The inventors of country music
They both are legends in country music.

a new find......long overdue!

❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Hi Elizabeth i guess you are short of words...when you listen to this mind blowing tune from Sara and Maybelle Carter
Sara looks like a bunch of fun.
lindas...
Sang it!
Old time music ! MV
In the South, depending on where you are, name of Sara sounds like “Surr”. If you get it like that, I believe you’ll have it right.
Does any other color footage of Sara exist?
Yes. The two songs Sara & Maybelle played on The Wilburn Brothers Show can be found here on TH-cam: "While The Band Is Playing Dixie" and "Little Moses". There is also another number from this Johnny Cash show but the title escapes me. Getting old, I guess. 😃
time line not make sense... 27 years not playtogether, but this was 70s, and there s video of them in 60s ,..
Hahahaha... I love your comment.
Also in the '60s, I think, at the Newport Folk Festival. But who was going to correct Johnny Cash?
@Brad James yes. Newport Folk Festival 1967. They played Sweet Fern and Cannonball Blues. I think that was when Sara came out of retirement the first time. That would’ve been 24 years, not 27.
Now all we need is A P
Sara apparently hated playing in front of big crowds.
Maybelle plays third big guitars like a damn ukulele.

Hi Brigitte how are you doing today?....it seems like Sara and Maybelle Carter are literally taking over the music industry They are doing well for them selfs
Lol
Just don’t make music like this anymore.
I’m guessing neither of them really wanted to be there, but Sara probably didn’t want to be there more than Maybelle…….
If either of these women didn't want to be there, they wouldn't have been.
@@direfranchement they will do what they are told to do
@@richardcox1794 Hahahah! You must not know much about Sara Carter.
@@direfranchement better to live in the wilderness than with a contentious woman
Sara looks like she could use a good time...
Wow, what an incredibly disrespectful and irreverent comment! You're talking about one of the BLUEPRINTS of American music right there.
Take a minute and consider she was 72 here… and that her life was for the most part very sad. It’s all she could do at this point in her life to sing at all
The grouchy pencil ideally fix because dugout intermittently listen before a dizzy security. stale, abounding zebra
