Very dangerous situation and the perp looks closer than 20 ft. from my perspective. In Maryland the victim would most likely be moved to the police cruiser, questioned, disarmed and a good chance of being placed in the back seat of the cruiser while running the serial number on the pistol.
It is a little different in Wyoming, also I regularly work with law enforcement. They do k9 training and bomb training here as well. They pretty much assume everyone is armed here. Some officers secure the firearm some only do so if it is a long gun. I know both officers have been here before and know me. I was calm and respectful also I would have had no problem complying with any requests from them. They all knew I had my carry pistol. I told dispatch as well as the officers who responded. I wouldn't have taken it personally if they needed to cuff me to secure my carry pistol or run the serial number. They have done it in the past. I think it comes down to the situation and the people involved as well as the officers' comfort and discretion. Thank you for commenting and watching.
I agree, we have no tolerance for theft or poor behavior. There is nothing I wouldn't do to help someone that deserves it. But on the flip side, I have no sympathy for those who don't deserve help. Thank you for watching and commenting

Dumb and dumber if it was his vehicle he could have just come and asked you gather it was his car that had been impounded and towed, new sub here hello from Australia.
That’s not how it works in America usually.. if your car gets towed most places won’t let you get your stuff till you get the car.. if they auction the car your stuff goes too. Also once again the woman runs from accountability and responsibility like it’s kryptonite .. and got away with it..
We would have had no problem releasing the personal possessions for no charge. It is protected under Wyoming state law. Thank you for watching and commenting

She was driving around until he was done getting things out of the car, she didnt want to be parked there while he was trespassing
