There are bad habits that DS2 punishes, it's reckless exploration, panic rolling, and careless use of stamina and estus. The ADP stat temporarily nerfed rolling for all classes so players will learn to use shields and to optimize their rolling and estus uses. In return, DS2 combat is slower to emphasize turn-based timing. Take your time an hone your moves. In every difficult area, there are ways to use the environment to make things easier, such as explosive barrels, summons, and traps. There is even an item that makes enemies attack invaders. In the dlc, there are phantoms that run behind the enemies, forcing you to a difficult pursuit, but using the item makes the enemies attack the phantom, turning the tables on it - these are amazing moments of "using the environment".
It didn’t nerf rolling. Rolling in ds2 with 3 adp is perfectly functional throughout the entire game including the DLC’s. Adp just makes the rolling really easy. It’s just an option for Uber noobs
Quick tip if you ever come across a item called a fragrance branch of yore you can use them on stone statues of people or enemies to cure them. Also carry a bow to pick off enemies from a distance. You aren't safe when using fog walls in this game unlike the others. There's a covenant you can join up the hill to the right in majula that can help out with enemy despawn.
Heide's Tower has a ring that reduces Hollowing's HP loss. To upgrade your Estus Flask, you'll need to find both Shards and Bone Dust. I won't spoil anything, but Bone Dust is usually guarded by knights. If you see a chest guarded by one, it likely contains Bone Dust. I'm not sure what build you're using, but if you're going for Strength, there's a club sold by the Hag in Majula. It has low durability, so I'd recommend buying two to switch between when one starts to wear down. Also, past where you fought the very first Pursuer, there's a drop down to a pretty good shield.
Huge tip that most people sleep on : Torches actually matter in this game. To light dark areas and make progression easier, scare specific enemies off and discovering some hidden secrets. Keep it up love your Ds2 playthrough man.
some tips you can dual wield in this game you need 2 weapons with same type and you should have 150% req stats for them. for hidden walls unlike ds1 and 3 where you hit them you should press interact button in order to go in them most enemies in this game are armored guys with big shields so a big ass mace/club makes it fun also poison is a lot different in this game
I advise keeping a bow in your inventory and utilizing consumables more. If you had fire arrows you couldve shot the black barrels around the area you were getting ganked by dogs and they wouldve blown up without even having to go down there (also when you get through the gate in that area and an enemy throws a barrel down stairs it can be used to destroy the wall next to the door to get a blacksmith, ember, and bonfire. This is not the only wall like this). Having a ranged option in general available to you and using items strategically is rewarded alot in this game. The torch is also very useful in this game, areas that are dark generally have things you can light, some enemies and secrets are invisible without it, and some bosses have a gimmick that can be removed by using the torch on something outside of the boss area (exp: the boss at the bottom of sinners rise has 2 doors on either side of the fog wall that if you light the fires in them will turn the lights on in the boss arena and if you dont do this you cant lock on to the boss) Theres an npc by the area you fought the persuer before his actually boss fight (look for the roots you walk on) that will give you the key to the mansion in majula which has a skeleton that drops infinite human effigies so you can just stay at full health the whole time
@@NotPolarEX you light it at a fire source, the bonfire counts you just have to hit the button to change the interaction option, each torch adds to the time that it will burn for. You can check the time in the equip menu and it automatically lights in your left hand. There is also consumables that lets you light it on use. Also to answer your question about dual wielding you can, but it requires more stats. Multiply the minimum stats of a weapon by 1.5 and you’ll see what number you need to have. When you equip them hold the two hand button like when you two hand your left hand weapon and youll see the stance change slightly
BTW, I just realized there is a bonus to tying dodging to a stat. You can equip heavier armor and weapons and still get full invincibility. Sure you'd have to put levels into equip loads for the really heavy stuff, but that applies to the other From games like this.
A few tips from someone that platinum'd the game. You don't need to be stingy about human effigies, they get more plentiful after the first few hours. There is a ring in the area with the giant knights that reduces max hp loss from hollowing to 75% instead of 50%. Its on that small island thing with a chest. ADP is the stat that controls how many invincibility frames you get when you roll, and 40 is the soft cap (diminishing returns after that level). Each damage type is good against certain types of enemies. Blunt is decent against armor and best for enemies made of stone or other hard material. Slashing is best against lightly or unarmored enemies. Piercing is best against armored enemies, and decent against unarmored enemies. I hope this helps, and have fun playing my favorite dark souls : )
the Pursuer is optional, but killing him is one of the best routes(there is a bird nest after the boss arena that send you to lost bastille in a different spot), since it have a key item for the lost bastille blacksmith, so killing him is always a good move also don't let anyone know about it, but the Pursuer can't pursue you, if you leave the area, he will just despawn, that don't work in the boss arena since you're trapped, but the other pursuers can be avoided by just walking away from them when they spawn
@@sandrolarocca3113 you can upgrade in weapons in the other blacksmiths, the lost bastille blacksmith can do infusions with stones, that isn't really necessary to beat the game, especially if you going for pure str/dex without ailments, but if you are doing a magic oriented build, or want poison/bleed, the stone infusions are a good way to make weapons fit your build, and there is also mundane that can make some fun stuff with joke weapons.

There were also a lot of flask upgrade locations you skipped and just useful items that are in plain site in general. I feel a lot of your complaints would be reduced if you just explored more and engaged with the game mechanics a little more. Messages will also often lead to useful hidden doors (as they also won’t lol)Either way the video was incredibly funny and enjoyable to watch, just hoping to help you out.

lot of people agree that Elden Ring is Tutorial for Dark Souls
Real
I think elden ring has the harder bosses but outside of bosses it's easy to get around, at least to me
Only applicable for ds2, but not the other two since they're easier
Actually I thought the souls games were easier after playing Elden ring since they are much less mechanically complex than Elden ring
@@lowintelligencespecimen1482 they literally have the same mechanics, just that eldenring has op jumping where you have now hitbox except your head
