Great video Paul. I love the great quality and how smooth your filming is. I was in 1A heading up to Narita in the 330 and the leg room is awesome as you said. Especially when you are tall like myself. I will be in 4A heading to Singapore in May so I am looking forward to the "private suite"!

Thanks for the heads up on the seating arrangement on the window side of the A330. Made the right choice for our Melb. To Auckland trip , but more importantly, Melb to London, via Perth in a couple of months.

It's a good point you make about the Air New Zealand business class, Paul. I flew from Auckland to Christchurch yesterday on a B777-300 (yes, I know!!) - an economy ticket (and service), but I paid extra for a seat in the J cabin. Comfortable enough, but showing its age. But the most annoying thing was that the seat was angled towards the aisle, so I was looking at two other passengers and not the windows!
I'm flying J on CX soon though - looking forward to that!

Hi Peter, yep I completely agree. The food and service on Air NZ is great, although the herringbone seat design is a generation old. I'd much rather be looking out of the window than other passengers. :)
CX J is a great product and the reverse herringbone design is what Air NZ should be introducing.

#amenitykit great review. Just did this same flight a couple of days ago but did the 6pm, and having access to the EK was great. Your menu was exactly the same as mine which was good. We had a Melbourne based crew and was way better than some Trans Pacific crew. Didn’t miss EK that much (other than the bar).

Great review! Making the flight in 2 weeks however they appear to be using the 737-800 outbound and the A330 on the way back. Bummer, I have not yet flown the A330 in Business class and have to wait for the return journey. What package did you use to put the video together? I did Akl - LHR return with Air China Southern and would love to put the bits and pieces together into a flight report.

HI Richard, yes I just read that too. I suppose the 747 is a more 'special' aircraft (queen of the skies!) although the business class seat is inferior to that of the A330.

#amenitykit I actually really enjoy the QF A330 J class seats. Much more storage space, compared to the Finnair A350 reverse herringbone J class. Nice video!

Yeah I find the storage ledge really good although you're in trouble if you have a bag which you'd want enclosed or is too wide for the ledge. I guess you'll have to toughen up, stand and put it in the overhead lockers. haha
