This is one of if not your best yet. Travelling can be stressful and you cut through that sharing your wife's growing comfort. Seeing the cockpit and meeting the cockpit & cabin crew goes a long way. Too bad all the fences and other barriers happened after 9/11 of course for good reasons. Your video works around that in a safe manner.
Yeah it’s sad we can’t get more access to the cockpit these days. I was actually chatting with the crew about how it would’ve been great to film the landing. But airline policy denies us to do that these days.
Hi Stefan, great video. Enjoy your holiday. The A330-300 came before the A330-200. Having many many hours flying the 200 I am happy to say it’s a great aircraft. Safe flying both big and small.
Been up front on the A330 a fair few times (after the flight of course, Southeast Asia) - this video has given me some inspiration on how to strike up a conversation the next time I visit the flight deck, as I normally just take pics with my DSLR and call it a day (which was exactly what I did on my last flight). Also excellent production quality and lovely music, wonder what the first song is.

Thanks for saying that Tylala, yeah the A330 is great hey? So I was fortunate in that the crew knew I was a pilot too and the visit to the cockpit was offered to me. If you want to do the same, I’d suggest ask the Customer Service Manager. If the flight crew are able, and if they have time at the end of the flight, it could be possible they’ll let you take a quick look in the flight deck. However if they have a quick turnaround, or after a long flight, don’t be upset if they say no. Good luck.

I flew on QF61 last week as well, but in economy, but it was a great flight nonetheless! I wish I had managed to get a cockpit tour though! Edit: I also flew on VH-QPF... I'm starting to wonder if I was on your flight!

Yes you will. Depends on the airlines you choose, those with higher fuel surcharges will cost more, but I’ve generally estimated AUD$1000 per person in taxes.

Main camera is an EOS 80D with a few lenses, but some bits are also shot on an iPhone or GoPro. But 80D with 10-18mm lens is my main vlogging setup.
