- Here is the lovely channel, SurajFineArts, that inspired me to make this video / @surajfinearts
There are lots of other videos on youtube of this style of painting but over christmas break I was finding myself throwing this channel on and absolutely passing the fuck out to it because it was so r e l a x i n g. I also enjoy people who make content that makes something that seems a little scary (like making art ((DONT LAUGH AT ME ART PEOPLE OKAY YALL WOULD BE SCARED IF I CLOMPED NEXT TO YOU AT 6'11 AND BOWLED YOU UNDER THE TABLE)) seem so accessible to people like me who have absolutely no idea what they are doing or how or where to start. Trying new things is really fun and fulfilling (as you can also see I HAVE BEGUN GROWING THE HOUSEPLANTS, someday maybe I'll give you a plant tour, let me know after you comment "hang it this way" if you'd like to see that someday maybe after their growing season in the spring/summer when they get all luscious and beautiful.). Anyways, it's enjoyable sometimes to just do 32 year old lady things, I appreciate you guys encouraging me to paint and do art even though I'm a little virgo-y at times, a little too much at times, and a little less than confident at times. It means a lot. I'm going to keep trying and maybe someday I'll be an art person with art things surrounded by art so much art I can't even function I'm just swimming in art okay I have to go Kermit is screaming at me because he wants to sit in my lap one of my plants is named Bjork okay bye.

Julien picks colors that mix together really well, while Jenna picks colors that layer really well, but she layers them when the paint is still wet so they end up mixing and creating a brownish color. I don’t know if she’ll ever see this, but if she decides to paint more, she should wait for her layers to dry before adding another color!

Throwing pots is very intense! I use to do it but it was to painful. I did use the wrong type of clay, that made my skin want to rub off. But the constant pressure of squeezing the pot takes a lot strength it hurt my noodle arms!

I saw this when it was first posted and it (and the link to Suraj Fine Arts) inspired me to start painting. It has been with me through my multiple and widely varied issues that culminated in a diagnosis of thyroid cancer. Flash forward to now and i'm entering my first juried art show and getting my thyroid removed, both this month. Thanks, Jenna and Julien for sharing. It has kept me sane. She's always so genuine about having fun and I think that's why it's so nice to watch her. It's really nice to see her have fun with things she wants to do. jenna’s too much gene vs julien shockingly knowing when to stop actually IS very virgo and aries tho; jenna is such a perfectionist that she second guesses and always thinks it could be better and julien’s able to just let it go 💀
So I'm a legit art major (graphic design but ive taken fine art courses) and theres a few things I've noticed.
1. Jenna is for some reason much more chaotic and rushed than Julien is. He is far more controlled then it.
2. I legit think Julien could be a painter or something with practice and teaching. He seems to truly enjoy it but I'm not sure how much patience he has.
3. If Jenna is interested in art, I think she needs something that is more forgiving and has more flexibility. She seems to want to constantly fix things but is using a medium that isnt super forgiving. Oddly enough, oil paints can be forgiving, you can paint over it when its dry to fix things.
4. I don't know how either of you would fair with watercolor. That takes some patience and it is not forgiving at all.
I legit think anyone can do art, you just need practice, teaching, and to enjoy it. It may be easier for some, but there is probably a form of art out there you would enjoy.

Yeah, acrylic paint just turns into a gloopy mess the more one tries to "fix" it. Though I also think that Jenna starts off fine with colors that work well together and then she thinks she needs to add something "extra" and it's usually colors that would work well with each other (black, yellow, white), but take away from the vibrance of the initial colors.
@@ViolineTries Lmao. I chose it cause then I could switch out what comes after "tries" with whatever, so it can be adapted to any site. It's funny that someone else had the same idea
@@Niriixa yea, that's exactly it. Unfortunately painting isn't super "fixable." Maybe it would have been better if she added colors after the initial layer dries.
Yeah Julien definitely just commits to an idea and goes for it. Jenna's "too much" gene definitely has her constantly adding trying to add more. xD She'd probably do better adding more of the same colour palette than introducing totally new colours.
