I just saw The Rose in concert last week. They were amazing live. I would say about 65%- 70% of their songs are in English. Their lead singer Woosung grew up in California and moved back to Korea when he was like 18/19 years old after winning a singing competition hosted by a Korean company. Dojoon, their second lead singer also went to school in New Zealand for five years, so his English is very good as well, although when I heard him speak at the concert he still has a little bit of a Korean accent. The Rose has a ton of great songs, but just to recommend a few: Alive, Cure, Sour, She’s in the Rain, Time, Wonder, And Red. You can start there anyway.
I thought about seeing them, they are or were in my city but I just started getting into them. I don’t even know all their names yet 😂

I saw them in 2022 (peep Doojon still as my TH-cam profile pic lol) and it was honestly the best concert I’ve ever been to, listening to sour, Beauty and the beast and she’s in the rain was the best, I wish I had seen them sing back to me tho I wanna see them again so bad 😭 this is now my favorite song
The Rose is awesome. And this song doesn't even fully showcase Woosung or Doojoons vocals. They go back and forth between Korea and America as far as where they base themselves out of. I just recently discovered them when Woosung was featured on Suga's song Snooze. Great reaction.
Agust D "Snooze" feat. Woosung is amazing. I think "D-Day" is my favorite Agust D album, it's so good. I'd heard of The Rose before but many were pleasantly surprised by the feature, I don't think they realized Suga has known Woosung for years. In fact I think Suga has a lot of varied musician friends he's made over the years, I actually thought it'd be really cool to have Woosung on Suchwita with Suga, we could still get one as he's pre-recorded some episodes before he left for the military but we will see.
Same here abt discovering thru Snooze. YT suggested this the other day so I put in queue & was 😳 when it came on. .. then IG started suggesting their reels .. love their personalities already so am gonna have fun going thru more of their music next 😊
I don't understand the nationality or ethnicity stuff concerning woosung😭. Like what ethnicity is Kim woosung's mother? Besides why does Woosung still bears the first name Kim if he was born in California and parents divorced? Does anyone know how to explain this situation.
Because Woosung is an American Citizen he put out two solo albums while the other members were doing their Mandatory Military service in Korea, Wolf and Moth. I highly recommend the song Face, from the first album and Phase Me from the second album.

@@aprildamian wdym why does Woosung still have his surname if his parents divorced? Your surname doesn't magically get changed if your parents are no longer together 😭 it's a legal process and not many people do it, I still have my dad's surname and I'm still his daughter even if my parents haven't been married for like 18 years that doesn't just go away. Also your place of birth doesn't determine your name either, I'm half German and have a German surname and I haven't ever even stood in German ground, that doesn't make me less legitimately (half) German because it's quite literally in my blood. Your question is worded very weirdly, Woosung is ethnically Korean or at least half idk I never even knew anything abt his family until I read this, but he is a US citizen as he is legally registered as such, so his nationality is American.
Their backstory is really neat too, before woosung joined the other 3 were buskers, and all 3 can sing and dojoon the other main singer was woosungs drinking buddy and convinced him to help out at a gig, and the rest was history. Theyre my fav indy k band. You can still find videos of them where they all sing, and videos of them busking. They also started their own company, and they seem to do everything for themselves (based on an interview with woosung )
You should check out xdinary heroes, a k band but very different from these guys. Both are cool in different ways. X heroes all sing, tho the drummer and bassist dont do it often

LOVE the ROSE!!!! I am going to see them Oct 24th. Found them via SUGA of BTS song SNOOZE. The lead singer, Woosung (Sammy) did the chorus and I was amazed of his voice. Thank you for reacting. I only stan two Korean groups and thats BTS and The Rose. They have some Soft Rock songs as well. Woosung is American and born in California. Check out CWS (California West Side) from his solo songs while the 3 Korean members were doing their military service. The two main singers both speak English. Dojoon (Leo) learned English in New Zealand.
Woosung was actually born in South Korea, but he moved to America when he was really young and became an American citizen.

Yes!! The Rose is such an incredible band!! I will also be attending the Oct.24th show! I've been a huge fan of theirs since their debut song Sorry! Woosung and Dojoon's vocals give me life and I love that they are getting more recognition!!

The Rose is my new favorite indie rock band. I too found them because the main singer Woosung was featured on Suga’s song Snooze. One of the best songs Suga has ever done and Woosungs vocals really standout. Now I love the whole band and their latest album as I’m learning more about them.

I'm a "silver ARMY" at 64 but I absolutely love The Rose who I discovered after Woosung was the featured vocalist on the track Snooze, from Agust D's / Suga's latest solo album, D-Day. Like BTS, The Rose have a very interesting but totally different, back story. They have a very diverse sound without losing their Indie roots and their interaction with their fans is honest, fun and often chaotic (much like BTS). I really hope they blow up worldwide because I think they deserve too.
Woosung the main vocalist was born in the US and he flew to South Korea to become a trainee but ended up becoming a member of the ROSE. The rest of the members are from South Korea. I recommend you to listen to She's in the rain, Beauty and the Beast. Woosung and Dojoon's vocals really compliment each other. They sound amazing.
Small correction. Woosung was born in South Korea, but moved to California as a child. I was confused about that too, but he said in an interview that he was born in Korea.
You are correct Back to Me at the concert is a Major Vibe! The crowd was so loud the roof was shaking! OMG, this band is amazing live! Shout out to Salt Lake City, I enjoyed jamming with y'all!
Glad you checked out The Rose! I discovered them with the song She's in the Rain which I definitely recommend. Aside from BTS, they are the band I admire and follow.

actually 1 singer is American and the second is new Zealander, both born in korea. So their English is fluent.
check ALIVE. I think it's their best song. All of their songs are way better than expected.

Yes, what a vibe. I just discovered them thanks to Woosungs collab with Suga and I am with love with the band. Love Woosung´s voice and the vibe. Me being a 50yo rock lover, this is so good. Alive is the next choice. It is a great choce with many Brit 70´s 80´s vibe.
I just saw them in concert and that was so much fun and their live is even better. This new album Dual is so great, I recommend Wonder (they have a fan video of that song), have loved them for so long

All four members of the ROSE are great singers! I’ve been a BLACK ROSE 🥀 since they debuted in 2017. They never disappoint with their music which they write on their own.
I’ve seen these guys in concert twice with my husband over the past five years. They are incredible performers! I found them busking on a youtube video before debuting. Before debuting they were a school rock band with the exception of Woosung who joined them later on. They had some tough times, so I love seeing them enjoying life and music now.
The Rose is definitely a band to follow. They are incredibly talented and have great songs. I am seeing them in concert next month and can’t wait!

The Rose !!! Thanks for your reaction … just saw them in Madison Square Garden theater in NYC last Sunday.. what an amazing concert ! I didn’t sit down from the start to finish ! They were awesome LIVE ..it’s my second time to watch them ‘coz they also performed at Lollapalooza last August ! They are my new favorite band !

The main singer who started out is Woosung aka Sammy. He’s a California boy, so there’s an accent when he sings-an American one. But everyone else in the band has pretty good discussion level English mastery. This song is amazing
No such thing as an American accent considering there are around 30 major English dialects here 😂. But yes the song is amazing!

I just saw The Rose in Toronto on Oct 20th and they were amazing live. Even better than studio version. You can really tell they have fun performing and have great chemistry together. If you get the chance to go see them one day do it!!!

Another great KBand is ONEWE, unlike The Rose's message which is one of Healing, ONEWE's song give off a magical feeling and uncover deep emotions. 'Aurora', 'Parting' and 'Regulus' are some great songs from them.

Fave Korean band fo sho!! I like not just their music but also each member's personality. If y'all like rock, maybe you should also start reacting to ONE OK ROCK. They're a rock band from Japan but most of their songs are in english. And they're really good especially live. There's nothing like their live performances. If y'all decide to give it a go, please listen to "WE ARE (Official Video From AMBITIONS Japan Dome Tour)" I SWEAR YOU WILL NOT REGRET.
Woosung( the first vocalist) has a beeeautiful voice which you don’t really hear in its fullness in this song. He featured on Suga’s recent album “DDay”, on a song called Snooze”. The Rose also has a beeautiful song called “Beautiful “, such an atmospheric MV. 👌

I also found Woosung thru Suga’s Song Snooze! He sings the chorus and it’s beautiful! Had to find him! Love the Rose! He does a interview on the Zach Sang show podcast where you learn a lot about how they came to be! I Love a lot of the Korean groups BTS being my Bias but as for rock bands The Rose and CM Blue are both amazing!
