Do not sleep on salamangreats! Their utilization of princess allows them access to a nib token faster than ever before!
Spinny gazelle also plays around nib to end on a pop and omni negate and pop 4 if you think your opponent is bad and waits till end board or after promethean to nib you

thrust is also there to play through nib searching fire recovery or monster reborn to continue combo or revive a link to keep traps live. doesn't come up too often, but if you opponent hand traps you early and you set up weasel reviving a salad to your opponent's field, you can thrust into talents for full effect
NAH using weasel to make thrust good is crazy , taking notes 📝

The ruling is in the TCG the player who summoned SP gets to use its effect if it gets taken with talents

@@bendfut I believe it is because the person who summoned it controlled it when activation conditions were met, but the real reason is probably just because Konami says so.
Do sure the new ruling is different to trigger monster effect when it is summoned in the middle of a chain and is taken control
In EU you can activate S:P on the opponents field if you chained I:P to talents and they take your S:P. I think in NA its different.
No it's the same here I spoke to the head judge at ycs vegas
At ycs it was ruled the player who summons is the one who gets the effect for ip vs talents. So if he was there he coulda chained ip summon sp and banish the saled monster

In tcg the player that summons the monster can trigger it's eff on summon. Also the hiita was protected by ip, no reason to try and pop it. Was lose lose
Judges on db have ruled for me that on db/TCG the player that summoned using IP gets the effect, regardless of who controls it on resolution
Salad of fire imo is just worse than debug rn. The problem with it is it just doesnt help you play through anything. Like debug plus gazelle plays through any ht at least decently (except dshifter) while fire just doesnt. Loses to droll, nib, imperm, veiler, and belle on fire plus gazelle
The only other starter ive considered is bufferlo but it feels worse in most situations. Id love to be corrected if im missing something with fire but I don't really see good qualities in it. Tbh I tried cutting it and it played fine; and I dont have to worry about the one of brick I get off mirage every so often
Edit - One redeeming quality is you can play burning draw
How does debug gazelle play through droll? Is it gazelle dump trap to and then relink wolf after princess (to make meowmine live)?
@nigamnation Pretty much yeah, like I said the board is worse (missing a trap), but it's still 2 (if you consider meowmines extra bounce then 3) interrups through it. Not lose but not the best either.
Thing is fire isn't really better cause it's 1 body for meowmines bounce
So, in my testing, it came down to two key differences. Although debug is a one card combo, it's not as clean and requires a lot more resources than just fire. In this format with a ton of handtraps, it's nice to have a card that just does everything cleanly. Second, it does play into ash/imperm/veiler a little better because it's a name and triggers gazelle. Obviously, debug play through nib better and more often. Personal preference in the end i think.
@knessy6446 I mean I kinda agree, but the main problem is the fire lock. Salad should use strong cards open to it like wicckid, meowmine, s:p, and etc. Losing those for slightly betterish against some handtraps just doesnt feel good. Imagining the preferred opening hand- starter (fire or debug) plus gazelle; debug plays way better against nib, kinda better against droll imo, and slightly worse against imperm and veiler. Fire loses badddd to nib, alright against droll, kinda better with imperm veiler (but instead they just wait for mirage). Ash shouldn't be considered a losing scenario (cause it's a free body off hiita) unless they ash mining then ash is solid. Then the upsides for debug is better boards by far (look at ycs Sydney salad profile), better than fire going 2nd (just cause of fire lock, s:p and ty-phon are way to good), doesn't lose to bad to nib or belle, and better extra deck usage. Fire has slightly better into imperm and veiler on starter (thing is both can play well after so :P), and probably other things but none I really like alot.
In conclusion, I genuinely didn't like it so much so cut it. It felt like a brick and I only got it off mirage every so often. Foxy normal effect felt better alot of the time. As a starter, I found it's worse (best combo was to summon it from deck but at that point it'd already been used). The only good upside fire has is an one card starter, but 1. gazelle is too, 2. I've never built the deck as an one card combo deck, and 3. debug at least can worst case scenario even if you're trying not to end up there

summon witch make phoenix activate original in gy... gets ashed so everything is known. Normal veiler hiita gets princess gets phoenix link off princess hiita for raging phoenix into zealantis -> otk with zealantis pop own phoenix after atk
The thing with that OCG announcement on talents chain to SS something with a trigger is how I thought it always worked. I'm pretty sure the OCG rule change was how it's always been treated in the TCG.
It hasn't, we used the same rule as the OCG did before. Of course few people would've known because this doesn't come up much.

Piece of advice for everyone. Just Nib Salad when they try to go into ep. Anything else, they can usually play through nib. It’s not like ur playing against saord soul or something where they’ll put up a Barron later on

Salad can’t summon anything like that. All their disruptions r pops and traps. And they can’t even summon sp to dodge it since they’re locked into fire
@tarikmccuin6306 I agree kinda depending on the build. The correct one, which plays through 1 ht (nib, ash, veiler, imperm, and belle. Droll as well but end board is weaker) uneffected, shouldn't struggle cause you search weasel with wicckid and hold it as long as possible (if you opp doesn't do anything you just hold it for followup and if they nib, you just draw 1 with same board)

@andrianjasaron1004 True but that's assuming the fkse player only plays around ash by sending original from their hand :P That beats ash but loses to every other ht played rn beside droll. Imo the misplay was not using diabellstar setting wanted and then sending wanted for original for another draw

bruh how are you always confused about the talents/sp ruling? in the TCG, whoever summons the sp can use the on summon effect

I believe you are outdated on that. Since "Couple of Aces" was released last year in PHHY I believe this has been reversed, following OCG in that regard.
@ no. at both ycs i attended in the back half of last year, Richmond and Indianapolis, it was ruled how I said. head judges specifically stated at indy before start, that that's how it's ruled. so unless konami has put out an update for the tcg since november, and i missed it, that is how it is ruled in the tcg.
that is how it’s ruled but i forgot cause i normally just double check the website and it has it wrong since tcg hasn’t followed ocg for that ruling (even tho there’s no differences between in tcg and ocg in that regard)
