Alright y’all, I told y’all I’m not super great at this video making thing 🤣 Things I forgot to mention:
1. I have chromo axles on stand- by, front and rear. We’re on borrowed time at this point and they WILL break!
2. I am geared to 4.56 from having the 35s.
3. I fully intend on a full axle swap, we’re just stress testing right now to see how long they’ll go 💪
4. It’s has a 3.5” RK X-Factor lift!
5. It’s daily driven ≈30 miles/day and averages 17.5-18.5 mpg, 17 if I’m driving like an asshole.
MISTY JLLO that was my first question if you had axle swapped yet. Have you thought about finding some rubicon axles to swap with or were you thinking about brand new prorock 44 or another axle company?

MISTY JLLO ya that’s what I’d like to do also. Some have told me just to get a used set of JL Rubicon axles, but I like the prorock 44, but who knows. Might be more worth to jump up to a Dana 60.
Love the Jeep!! I planned on 35's or 37's at some point in time myself. I do have a question tho, where did you get your Heathen decal? I'm looking to replace my Rubicon decal.
Thank you! We actually cut our own decals... turned out pretty good.. however... if u are looking for a recommendation... I’d suggest pixel decal... they do great work

That’s crazy running 37”s with the stock axles! I’m curious which axles y’all are thinking about? I’m just bumping up to 35”s bfg km3 in the next few weeks but also bumping my lift from 2.5” too 3.5”, with 4.88 gears, and Adams drive shafts. If you have Adams drive shafts or thinking about them, are you going to go with the 1350 so you don’t have to worry about beyond 37”s?
So... 1350 for the rear... it will be good... 1310 upfront... reason being Iv seen and heard others going 1350 upfront and end up rubbing and breaking their transmission heater... if u do 1350 upfront... be sure u got plenty of bump stop. As far as axles... not to sure yet... we are still considering options 🙌🙌🙌
JL LIFE OFFROAD ya I’m just doing 1310 for both. Did consider lockers, but already the upgrades were getting stacked up pretty high$. When I do the axle upgrade if it be used rubicon ones or new dynatrac ones then I’ll get the air locker setup.
Jonathan Wallace lockers are nice to have... but honestly not needed for most applications... personally... I try to find used rubicon ones.. much cheaper

On road driving only... i would put my vote in u will be fine... off-roading with the 37s.. I would not recommend to anyone on sport axles... but we have every intention to upgrade her axles... figured we could stress test the axle for the world
To see... do I think we are gonna break her axles? YES...
I am in the same position - but I know 2 people whom have put 37s on their JLUs and didn't regear they never see 7-8 gear they both have the 4cyl Turbo/Hybrid. Ideally you should regear to 4.88/5.13 - let us know what gears you lost - mpg, etc. :) thanks for the videos!!!!
Jeff Shapiro hey Jeff! I had regeared to 4.56 when I went to 35s. So far, gas mileage isn’t too bad, averaging 17.5-18.5 and I get 8th gear no problem.

Jeff Shapiro so far so good, I haven’t had to swap in the chromo’s yet. Been wheeling like 6 times on them, that being said though, I am very conscientious of throttle control when we’re rock crawling. Thanks for watching 🤙
My JL sport on 35's is like the max you should do for daily driving and offroading... 37's will give you bad steering wobble, slow speed, you'll be in a lower gear, have like 12-13mpg
bluespy4 hey there, thanks for watching 👊 so far I’m still averaging 17.5-18.5 mpg, I drive ≈30 miles/day and hit 8th gear no problem. Hitting really big cracks in the road or stupid big bumps around 35-45 mph will give a bit of bump steer but that’s rare. My Jeep is also not fully stock either. I’m geared to 4.56 already, have a Tazer programmer to set gears and size correctly, and it’s lifted for clearance. The decision to go to 37s DID NOT come lightly and without thought.
MISTY JLLO I’m saying from my driving with 315/R17s on a 2019 sport s my steering got wobbly, and my friend with a 2019 rubicon on 37’s says he’s steering is so bad he won’t drive fast. I average 17-18 on flat highway but uphills I’m like 5th gear getting 15mpg. The gearing is a big help and I think Dana 44s will prevent an axle breaking on the trail
The JLs already come with weak steering components... upgrading tire size... upgrades to certain parts need to be considered.... I agree... and don’t recommend anyone to put 37s on a sport axle... but the way we seen this opportunity... we plan on upgrading her axles... the rubicon has already been stressed test on tire size.... haven’t really seen anyone stress test the sport... so rather then upgrading and throwing out these axles... we decided to see how much abuse they can take... people rather see a breaking point then be told... as misty also mentioned... she has regeared... and is averaging 18ish mpg... I currently have 38s on my rubicon and it is solid... no wobbles or bump steer

Rich Beach oh lawrd! That’d be a lot of info and trying to remember 🤣 unfortunately, my old tires are going to need to be run with beadlocks because the people who installed them tore the bead on 4 out of the 5 🤯
What about trussing and gusset the m186? Artec has a good kit for the axle.

That is the plan.. to see how far we can push these before we upgrade em.. we will plan on trussing and gussets at some point too!

Seriously, if you ever hit 30,000 miles on these tires, I’d love it if you revisited your review. I mostly want to know how these new hybrids perform on the road. You obviously wheel your ass off, and I can look at them and know they’ll rock off-road, I want to know how they do on the highway, because I’ve always hated mud terrains on the road, and I’m looking for the holy grail :-)
Hey Peter, thanks for watchin’! More than likely these will stay on till they’re worn or if something goes terribly wrong 🤣 only two sets of the 5 we’re the same size, and that’s because my first set of 35s were a cheap used set I got from a buddy. The rest have all been a progression of going larger lol. You really can’t beat the weight of these tires either, they weigh the same as the Geolandars I had before!

Hey Wade, thanks for your vote of confidence! 🙌 we really appreciate it! There’s not a video of my locker and gear install, we were not confident in breaking into the diff yet back when that was done lol we opted for a reputable shop for that. Gears are a bit more specialized so we wanted to make sure they didn’t get mucked up 😅
Yea... what misty said... looking back at it.... wish we would of done it... but I know I wasn’t confident enough back then...
They look great on the Jeep and them tires are known to be awesome! Even Shawano with Australian 4x4 put those on his Land cruiser and if you ever watch their channel the terrain he hits is pretty bad 😂

Awesome jeep! I have a 2020 Sport S and I was curious as to how the stock axles would hold up with 37s. Seems like they've done well considering the wheeling y'all have done!
Good question! Though they have put up with a good amount of abuse, I know one of the shafts are twisted. A few weeks ago we switched out ball joints and pulled one of the shafts, it was twisted. We are going to put in some chromosomes shafts and see how the abuse continues. We are also on 4.56 gears which helps the parts not be so under strain wheeling
Great choice ! I have the same one but in 35s 😪 lol but will upgrade to bigger ones once these wear down and do few upgrades because I really wanna do 40s since if I do 37s I know it will only be temporary lol you know how that goes

And of course! I personally would not recommend anyone going higher them a 35 on sport axles.. 😂😂😂 we gonna find the breaking point for everyone!

So how long did your Dana 30 last before you guys swapped ? And how long do you think a 30 Would survive on 37s and a total mall crawler ?! Lol. Debating on ordering the sport over a rubicon since my last rubi didn’t ever leave the pavement.
If you planning on babying it… u should be fine 37s on the stock sport axles…
We beat on ours quite a bit and it held up. We had it geared to 4.53

Hey Derek Bareham I’m glad you enjoyed the video 🙌 so far they’re holding up, we’ve gone on 6 wheeling trips but quote me on this, THEY WILL BREAK, it’s just a matter of time. Especially with the way we wheel and often.
The MTR's are great tires, I ran them on my TJ and they performed well on road and off. I love watching the progression that our Jeeps go through. Seems like we are never satisfied and always looking to change something. 🤣

It did, but it was a tight fit... maybe about 2 inches of clearance
37’s look great, Misty, and the performance! I’m just afraid somethings going to give on the stock front axle. I’ll look forward to the next mod. A new lift, maybe?
We know something is going will break... a lot of people out there either are currently or curious about putting 37s on their sport JL... we are just gonna be putting it out for everyone to see what these axles can handle!

What do you have done to the front axle and what size lift
The axles have been regeared to 4.56.... we have both chromos front and rear ready to swap in when we break the shafts... we know this is not ideal... we know we will break... but a lot of people like to see the amount of abuse something can take before it breaks... everyone has seen the rubicon model tAke the beatings... it’s time for the sport....
And when we do break it... we will be looking for an axle swap on it...
I’ll likely truss and weld the tubes on it as well... since trusses are pretty cheap...

Steve Love they run 387/ea on Goodyear’s website, sometimes they have sales but if you pay an additional $15 each on their website you can have them mounted and balanced at one of their authorized retailers.

Steve Love I’ve heard really good things about their longevity from others I know who’ve had them before so I’m hoping my experience with them will be good as well. On road I’m going at 35, offroad, I air down as low as 10 depending on what we’re doing.

I just got the same tires installed on my sport I’m also geared at 4.56 I hardly do off-roading maybe once every other month mostly hw driving do you think the Dana 30 be able to handle the stress ?

We paid 1200 for mistys locker and regear instal... wanna say the gears cost us $1000 the lockers cost us $1000 then the compressor... $350.. I mean... rubicon axles cost $4000 right? Lol we were pretty close to it 😂

I’ll tell u this... this jeep has been regeared to 4.56 (35s were the intended size) we recently pulled the shafts to replace with chromos.. there was a lot of twist 😂😂

At the time of Thai video.. heathen was on the stock sport axles.. but was regeared to 4.56.....
We have since done an axle swap to d44s and regeared it to 5.13 😃

tire... being priced so low.. I can’t discourage anyone from them... if they ever decide to Jack the price up... it be a hard no from me... they grip well on sticky rock... once they get wet.... things get very slippery... slide a lot more... I have about 10k miles on mine.. they are wearing well...
Now... I have not failed at climbing anything with the... it seems to be taking me longer and longer thou 😭😭😭😭😭

@@JLLIFEOFFROAD I don't understand why Jeep did that, I understand they beefed it up a ton compared with the older D35, but I still don't see why. Anyhow it looks like it's holding up fine. I've got 39-13.5/17 BFG KM3's on my stock rear 44 and a Rubicon 44 front axle. If you have chromoly shafts I don't think you'll run into any major problems with the 37's.
We recently pulled the stock shafts and switched up to chromos... ultimately we will swap the entire axle housing out... but tryna show what they can handle.

Yea... I been using a harbor freight steel 3 ton... still gets everything off the ground. If Thts no good... Iv seen this brand... pretty pricey but I’m pretty darn sure it will lift ur jeep.. pro eagle off road jacks
