as someone who ults bts, I’m not gonna argue with you about your music taste regarding recent bts songs bc ofc that’s your opinion, but I will say that their 3 English-language releases were created with the sole purpose of cheering people up globally during the pandemic, and Namjoon himself said they had to make the concepts simpler in order to create shallow, happy anthems to try to raise spirits all over the world. This concept also applies to Life Goes On, which is a kind of comfort song.
I also don’t really think bts can be blamed since they didn’t write or produce these songs, which is what they do with all their Korean and Japanese language songs.
That being said, I don’t think bts aren’t proud of these songs and how well they’ve charted etc, which was all due to their hard work and people enjoying those songs, not just ARMYs.
anyways didn’t mean to come out with an essay like this but yeah just wanted to make a couple things clear, have a nice day
also another thing, I guess it’s kind of to be expected that since ARMY is the biggest fandom in the world, let alone the biggest kpop fandom, you’re gonna hear the songs a lot more. I personally still enjoy the songs occasionally but Butter, which is the most overplayed out of the 3, gets skipped sometimes

Whether or not the boys intended for the songs to come out the way it did or what their intentions were when releasing the songs don't take away from the fact that the songs are mid, lackluster, no where up to their usual standard (that seems to have been lowering as hybe got lazier with all their groups music composition, vocal layering and engineering) and over all just basic. I did like butter, but I can assure u it got annoying after a while, has less replayability after each play and is easily forgettable. Let's just thank gosh we got my universe during this kidz bop era instead of lying to ourselves the English releases were objectively good.
