    It cost 10,500 new without attachments, it was produced for many years. I rebuilt mine as well, putting $1200 into it. It is an amazing machine.

    Awesome tractor. I used one a lot as it was my dads and it was an extremely reliable workhorse. Looking for 1 for myself now.

    So buying my neighbor's mint 1992 445 with 600 hours with quick attach angle 54-in blade rototiller and 60-in deck for 3,500 for steel all look brand new

    I’ve got a 455 and it’s got a Yanmar engine in it and mine also all wheel steer! With a rear pto and a 3 point linkage

    Very nice 445 man. I love old JD garden tractors. I have a 318 and a X485. Yours did sound like its got a slight knock when idling. Not a big deal. A little lucas or some thicker oil may quite it down

      @marioman971 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Didn't sound so bad. Hoods usually rattle a bit on idle, camera might pick that up odd. Worth noting these things have 10.3:1 compression.. Probably does hit a little hard when cold like that

    Ive got one just like it.....I had the same problem with the fuel tube....I would not sell mine either....would like to get up with you if you did motor rebuild. Also there is a rubber bushing between the motor and primary drive that cracks as it ages and is not hard to replace but you do not want to let it break as it will or can damage a bunch of other items if it looses it.....heads up.

    Don't sell it! I just bought a 2016 Simplicity Conquest and your JD has as many if not more features! Thats a neat piece to own and only going to get cooler over time. Hold on to that gem. I feel the Conquest sits in a similar spot of tractor greatness and hope someday I can look at it fondly like I do your 445.

    My dad has the same john deere only the headlights are diffrent they don't have the orange. He took the sides off because it had a temp problem with them on and right now it has a bad starter.

      I just got a 445, I'm learning lots from your prices, I had no idea $$$. My neighbor gave me his... 1998 jd 445 all wheel steer, 191 hours, 54" deck, single stage snow blower (new) , pull behind leaf cart with leaf power chute, wheel weights and the hard cab. I just posted a video yesterday of it. Any idea what all this costed new... ? 😅

    Japanese engine? That's a shame, they should stick with Kohler.

    • @Titliest07

      I prefer it

    • @theswagler5648
      @theswagler5648 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I jumped the gun, I should have said overseas engine. It was just my first thought, merging overseas parts... doesn't sit well with me. I've replaced a camshaft on a 2 yo Husqvarna 21 hp, compression release weight flaw, and seen other camshaft issues with your model, so I'm not impressed. But don't get me wrong, you've got a great garden tractor, I just miss seeing them 100% designed and built in the USA.

    • @marioman971
      @marioman971 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh those Yanmars are amazing. And I will say this: The old K series Kohlers were great, I really love mine honestly. But of all the new engines.. The Kawi's are the best around. The camshaft issues were due to a plastic cam gear, was replaced with steel. Every company has had their issues. Kohler had the big KT-Series 1 failures (using a splash oiling system on a boxer twin was a pretty dumb idea) as well as weak rods in the K532. Onan's had aluminum cam gears that were worse than the plastic ones (our 316's was replaced by a fiber gear after 4 years; has been perfect ever since and in the family since new). Techumseh's... well they were what they were... Same with Briggs (and Vanguards are manufactured by Daihatsu now, so there's that) Can't speak for Honda.

    needs new seat and souns like it has bad rod or main bearings at idle. not good news

    • @Titliest07
      @Titliest07  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mike grazio rod bearing is fine. Still runs great. Run it a few days a week mowing and moving it around. Dont care about a seat because when it's already ripped you cant hurt it more
