    I saw one of these at Mildenhall air show. Was still relatively new so was surrounded by double security rings with guards.

      Why? Anyone could take pictures of it so it couldn’t be for intelligence purposes

    I’m watching this in 2022 and this thing has been retired for 14 years now, but a year ago 2 of them were spotted flying over Los Angeles with a KC-135.

    Been seeing these being flown lately, I don’t think their back in service but maybe we’re testing some new radar systems out? Just thought it was weird to see it

      I suspect that the military has a few of their "retired" vehicles,particularly jets,in storage, mildly upgraded to keep up with the latest advances in technology and weaponry,just because it's always a good idea to have an ace up the sleeve....

      Hopefully.. It was one of America’s most powerful bombers and they retired it because one of them were lost in combat...... ONE!!

    you guys didnt talk about the inlet wipers for ice biuld up on intakes.also ceramic bricks on exhaust for low heat signature.

  • @atomicmrpelly
    @atomicmrpelly 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Can somebody explain the diffused exhaust to me? I don't understand how the plane generates any thrust if it defuses the exhaust like that.

    • @MasterNater808
      @MasterNater808 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's exactly what I was thinking!

    • @davidboggs2594
      @davidboggs2594 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The engine thrust (exhaust) is spread out and diverted slightly up to rapidly reduce the temperature, but this doesn't change the actual energy required to propel the aircraft. The actual heat source seen from a missle's perspective is confusing because there is no definitive heat plume to lock on to. The engine's are buried deep in the fuselage so their heat source can't be detected as well.

      It's pumping out the same volume of air, just cooled down some.

    With no offensive weapons and being sub sonic, this should be an a117 not an f117. This is not a fighter.

    • @MattH-wg7ou

      If a GBU-24 isnt an offensive weapon I dont know what is!
      But in all seriousness I get what you're saying and at least mostly agree. A-117.

      It's designated as a strike fighter, which is basically a light bomber

    The Cockpit is perfectly placed ... Good view..... Probably the best advancement in the plane.... But the fully software defined architecture is the biggest draw back ... and no matter how much stealth coating and Anti radar things the plane is equipped with its is always vulnerable when the Hatches open.... The Moment those hatches open the electric signals are prone to be detected thereby making the Plane visible to Radars .... On a personal view the SR 71 would make a better fighter with some modifications
