  • Hi all, these is now a new solution for interfacing any Servomotor easier, using the internal encoder of the servomotors for positioning. These servomotors come with an additional 12-bit DAC circuit that outputs the position feedback to the AMC1280USB, thus making it possible for it to drive these linear servomotors in closed loop in real time for motion simulators. These servomotors are incredibly strong and accurate and the linear actuator is making it easy for use on 6DOF motion platforms with less mechanical parts to be made.

This makes me want to build another motion sim! Those look fantastic, excellent work getting this working Thanos.

I wish I could too! I'll be needing to spend $4800 for a full kit of 6 linear servomotor actuators. Not too bad compared to simple AC gearmotors with VFD inverters cost!

hello... how much force can it exerted?... if i want to install it under a motorcycle seat, what is the maximum load can it withstand?...thank you in advance.

ihsanc94 these have thrust 1280 or 2560 Newton, depending on the pitch of the screw that is selected. But more N means less speed mm/s

The board Thanos can work with servomotor? thanks

Allyson Rodrigo Yes it does work with servomotors. But now doesn't need external position sensors, uses the internal encoders of the servomotor.

Great job, great job, unfortunately servor motors are so much expensive than DC motor + encoder, but i´ts excelent idea.

Allyson Rodrigo That's correct, but don't forget that dc motors still have their perks, like large currents and lower power efficiency. Still the price of the above servomotors (linear output) is same to an equivalent power simple AC motors with vfd invertets setup (rotary output). And less mechanically challenging to build a 6dof platform with.

True, and no need Sabertooth H Bridge, i´ll think abou t it, thanks so much!

using AC motor, works fine with flight simulators. But, I will never use for racing car simulators.

Joe ExtraKnow yes, but these are 220v servomotors... not AC motors. Totally different

I tired several commercial 4DoF and 6DoF sim using powerful AC server motors. Honestly say, they are just not suite for racing car sim though. OK moving in 4dof or 6dof, but far less details, low resolution though.
In comparison between your video with this one: th-cam.com/video/PL-MjpeeYGg/w-d-xo.html
I dont see any benefit of these Actuators.... SCN are far better for racing sim IMO. Sorry to post here... but just IMO.

where we can buy this actuador? and the the load dont go to axial of the motor?
