I want to thank everyone for commenting. For years I’ve wanted this flat iron and I recently bought it. My hair has never had so much body after straightening. And it has stayed moisturized for a long time. I was initially worried about the limited heat settings but the lowest setting was enough to get my hair straight. Highly recommend if you have high porosity natural hair. It does wonders to restore the moisture especially if you’ve previously blow dried. I did have some difficulty getting close to my roots but I figure it will get better the more comfortable I get with using this tool. I give this a 9.5/10. Hope this helps someone!!!!!

I’ve been looking for reviews on the steampod 3.0 for a couple of months now, and I have been really questioning if I should or should not buy it, ‘cause for me it’s very pricey… but I’m almost 100% convinced I’m buying it. Randomly came across this video and watched it because I’ve been using the Steampod for 4 yrs. It’s the only flat iron that doesn’t frizz my hair after 2-3 days. I’ve tried them all: GHD, T3, Chi, baby bliss, Dyson, Drybar. I have long thick hair that’s prone to frizz. With the Steampod, I don’t have been to touch up until I wash again 3-5 days later, which is a miracle. I don’t use it on my roots because I want volume. But I will never part with this bulky iron.

My friend who is a licensed hair stylist been doing hair for over 10 years used this L’Oréal steam pod on my hair but I actually have very naturally curly hair normally with other straighteners my hair will still get frizzy, straw like dry, &the style won’t last very long. However with the L’Oréal steam pod my hair stayed straight, soft, & styled for a week. You tested it on already straight hair so not a fair review I believe this straightener is a God send for us women with actual curly hair in my opinion.

Plus, for me when I travel from dry to humid places, using the steam pod some how made my hair style still live. Which normally reverts to a frizz ball mess with other tools. A win for steam pod for me 😊

I bought the first one that came out and used it for 8 years. Didn’t take very good care of it, barely ever used distilled water and so i had to say goodbye after 8 years.
Then i used ghd platinum for 5 years and the difference was huge. My hair with the steampod was literally straight for a whole week, even if it was rainy, snowing, after hot showers, even sauna. My hair was still straight. With ghd i was straightening my hair EVERY SINGLE DAY and the results were always very meh.
I have very thick wavy hair and finally i decided it’s time to go back to the steampod 3 (decided i didn’t need the 4 because i don’t ever curl my hair with it) and am super happy with it again and i only straighten my hair once a week. (I’ve also learned from my past mistakes and only use distilled water now!)
So if your hair is coarse and thick and wavy/curly/coily - GET IT!!!
HOWEVER, my friend with thin hair bought it and hated it and she gave it away. Not for all types of hair.

I have thin(alote but thin) hair and I love it. Have the old one too that has the whole water tank 😅 It worked perfectly well but I am looking to buy a newer version for traveling. But honestly I never owned another flat iron so perhaps for my thin hair another would be better…? But I feel like the steam will keep from drying/burning the hair in the long run(have no idea if it works buuut)🤷🏻‍♀️😁

Steampod has been around in the UK for well over a decade. It used to be a salon only tool when it was first released. It's just now making its way to the US. It has nothing to do with influencers promoting it. It actually works! I've tried all the high-end irons and always reach for this one. Also, if you have coily hair you need this. You won't have to struggle balancing a comb to chase with the iron and it gets coily ends pin straight. Pair it with Kerastase Ciment Thermique and your hair will feel like SILK!

My hair is soft, stay straight until the next wash and has improved a lot, and I can totaly feel the difference when using another tool rather than this one...
To be honest, I would never buy anything else, it was a game changer for my hair. But I totaly agree with the rest of the review talking about the size of it, it's not practical and difficult to travel with

I love me steampod!! I have it for years, old and new design versions. I have a lot of hair, neither straight nor curly. It does the job in five minutes, holds for days, does not damage my hair. Surely it does not make sense to apply steam to style hair (I do blow dry it first thoroughly) but it somehow works sort of like when you iron clothes with an iron that has steam or one without-I always explain it that way. So much faster with great results!

  • @ForgiveMyMadness

My natural hair is a mixture of 3b, 3c and 4a. The steampod is the BEST flat iron I have ever used. When I was younger, I used to have my hair relaxed (chemically straightened) and even then, my hair would not turn out as sleek and shiny as it does with this flat iron.
My hair now is natural, not chemically straightened in any way, and - along with the correct products - my hair will remain straight, sleek and shiny for as long as I want, literally until I wash it. Humidity is the only thing that will ruin that, but that's not the fault of the flat iron lol.
For reference, after washing my hair I will use ColourWOW Dream Coat, and the loreal fast dry heat protect spray. After flat ironing I may use a little ColourWOW mist-icle spray but not too much.

I have this L’Oréal Steampod and I love it. One slow pass makes my hair smooth, shiny and straight. Another advantage is that my hair stays straight for much longer, so no need for any touch ups and one pass instead of two or more saves so much time. However, I completely agree with Chris that it doesn’t get to the roots as it’s quite big and kills the volume. Another drawback is that you can hardly use it as an curling iron. But I still love it as I get the best result from it if I want to straighten my hair.

I’ve found that the steam pods are the only hair straightener that tame my frizzy hair. Deffo agree that it’s very bulky!

Straightening the hair of a straight hair model 😂
Here is what you need to know:
Steampod is muuuuch faster, one pass and the fact that its wide makes it so quick
It lasts until the next wash, no getting out and puff frizzy hair again
It doesnt break your hair nearly as much, not sure why but maybe because only 1 pass works and that you dont need to use it everyday.
Enjoy girls. I had the 1.0 for years and today i ordred the 4.0 which seems to solve the bulky part problem.

I've tried all sorts of flat irons, even splurging on some pricey ones, but they all seem to suck the life out of my hair, especially the ends. Enter the Steampod - it's a game-changer. My hairdresser put me onto it, and I've gotta say, I'm impressed. Not only does it leave my hair feeling silky smooth, but it seems to last forever too. Plus, unlike other irons that leave my hair frizzy by the next day, the Steampod keeps it straight until my next wash.
But let's be real, no flat iron, not even the Steampod, is gonna magically pump up the volume. And hey, let's squash that rumor about influencers pushing this thing. There's some seriously sketchy stuff out there getting hyped on TH-cam, but the Steampod ain't one of 'em.

I find your reviews usually on point and quite helpful but this was not good at all! Let me start with the hair model used…she already had easy hair to manage so this example between both heat tools made no sense to me! Before influencers started talking about the L’Oréal Steampod, women with textured hair including myself, already loved it because it actually works better at straightening our hair , and the hair is more resistant to frizz than with other conventional hair straighteners. Let’s be honest, most heat tools change the hair texture (lengths only) I agree with you that dryness comes from the inside of the hair shaft.

A LOT. A Steampod treatment lasts me 7 days, gets rid of the Alpaca hair look on a bad day too. This is of course for me. I don't have 2 hours to spend on a blow out and flat iron at home. This guy is a joke. The steampod is the only thing that will actually heal and smooth hair properly and he will dismiss it of course and then he will advise you to use a heat protectant spray on dry hair right before using the straightener! Which will ABSOLUTELY fry your hair. After of course recommending so many expensive products to buy. “Professional” shampoo and conditioner, mask, leave in conditioner blow out cream , olaplex, hair oil étc…
Stay away from these advise if you want your hair to be healthy.
